- For as long as I can remember, I've been a fan of two things: Super Heroes and Video Games.
And...yes, Super Hero video games. Today, I'm starting at Generation 2 with the Atari 2600 and moving all the way up to Gen 9 on the Xbox Series, and giving you what I feel are some of the greatest super-hero games on each console generation.
What are your favorite superhero games? Let me know in the comments!

Batman on the NES is the stand out for me. It was always a game that people keep telling me was amazing, but until I actually played it, I never fully appreciated it. It's a game that helped me fall more in love with retro. And that soundtrack. Wow!
Fantastic list, as always. For the 16-bit era, it definitely goes to X-Men 2: Clone Wars on Genesis. That game just goes SO HARD
I definitely feel that Arkham Origins is criminally underrated! I get that it is lacking in certain spots, but I had so much fun playing it years back and always get the urge to play it again.
We played a bunch of Punisher on the Genesis. It's such a fun co-op that still holds up.
Excellent suggestion!
That Sonic t-shirt you have on in the video. Is that the Sonic t-shirt that says "No time for games" on the bottom and on the side it has the 1991 year on it? If so, that's the same t-shirt I got from Gamestop, nice : ).
Great list man! I honestly can say I agree that every one of these picks is a great game, but at the same time I think my list would be almost completely different! It's super fun to see the variety of opinions people have on this topic specifically. 😄
As a Superhero fan myself, this was a solid list! Fun vid my friend, see you tomorrow 😉
I have to pick up spiderman for ps1 that hit me right in the nostalgia bone lol
Batman on the NES looks so much fun! And so does Death and return of superman! I never played that game bc I never saw it anywhere bc the n64 was already out when I got my snes. I have Spider-Man on the n64 and love it. Marvel vs Capcom 2 is amazing and I'm so glad they're bringing it back soon. Hope you're having a great day
Saw Death and Return of Superman on the rental shelf week in week out but never quite pulled the trigger in the end. Mutant Apocalypse was my Gen 4 superhero game of choice back then, but Death and Return looks solid!
I'll probably never get to play those last three in the list, but I really want to. I'd really like to see a good 3D Superman game. I'll have to lookup when the copyright expires because if they won't make one, then maybe I should.
Great list!
All wonderful suggestions my friend! Did you say you liked Spider-Man? Have you ever done a video comparing Spider-Man games? That would be cool! 😂
Hope you had a happy 4th and doing well brother! Great video as always!
Also, any chance that you're doing to be doing a Handheld Generations video as well? I bet you're dying to recommend that one Fantastic Four GBA game starring the Human Torch in said video aren't you XD?
Spider-Man is simply perfection (Spider-Man 2 didn't enthuse me to the same extent 🤷♂️)
Guardians of the Galaxy is pitch perfect for the licence. The older games on your list, I haven't played yet. And incoming hot take, I wasn't overly impressed by the Arkham games. Maybe I wasn't in the zone for them when I first dipped in 🙄
I do not give superhero games enough love. Scott had to actually challenge me to play Spider-Man on PS4 and my God was it life-changing!!! Such an amazing game. Glad to see it on your list and understand why you didn't include the second one because that would have been a gimme I think. I'm wondering though after playing Spider-Man can I go backwards and play the PS3 Batman games and enjoy them?!?
100% yes. Especially Arkham Asylum which will keep you hooked with its light horror themes. All three of the PS3 releases offer something a little different, and all are worth playing. The stories alone are magnificent. :)
Super hero time
Yeah, I would have gone with Arkham City, if only for the scale of that game.
5:28 "this is a perfect game" (stuttering framerate, janky controls, simple environments) man i wish I enjoyed games as much as you do 😂
🤷♂️ Don't know what to tell you, dude, I just like the games I like. It's a 20+ year old game at this point. Frame rate isn't bad, controls are great, environments are pretty standard for the PS1 generation.
