I 💯 agree with you about Africa funeral arrangements. I don’t see why someone’s death would call for a celebration/party. It makes absolutely no sense to me. When people I’ve been close with die I just want to cry non stop. I don’t want to be dancing or eating party rice etc. but oh well…. Their tradition and it doesn’t mean we must abide by it. I like how you took a stand with your late dad’s funeral.

May the soul of the departed rest in peace. Please accept my condolences 🙏true African burial is different. Thank you for sharing those tips and ideas. It is good to give the premium treatment to people while they were alive. I think African by my understanding celebrate the passing away of someone that’s older like past 75 years but if someone younger like a child passed on they don’t celebrate that.

I absolutely agree, dressing modest to a funeral is appropriate, I still can’t understand our African way of celebrating lost lives, but o well, i don’t get our culture when it comes to burial, people spend a lot of money, yet when they were alive they didn’t get any kind of luxury lifestyle. I also believe people should be celebrated whilst alive.. the burial ceremony in naija is un necessary.. some people even borrow money.. Sorry for your loss, my condolences, I love the outfit ❤

That’s exactly how l feel Nancy l don’t think you should spend all this money on a funeral. Hence when the person was alive you didn’t spend it on them so sad
