  • What is the concept of "deep stack" Let's talk about it, primarily for silver bars and such, but also for gold. Are you liquid, or are you a collector. Why? Maybe you can learn from my mistakes and successes.
    In this video I talk about silver stacking mistakes that you need to avoid. I have been stacking for a numbers of years and I like to make silver stacking for beginners videos and I wish that others had given me some silver stacking tips when I first started. Silver stacking in 2024 will be a great year to acquire more silver. If you are wanting to buy silver coins, silver bars, or any silver bullion then this is the video for you. I will be silver stacking 2024 as hard as I can. If you are just wanting to invest in silver or buy physical silver then this silver stacking advice is great for you as well! Silver investing is tricky and I hope that these silver stacking mistakes can help you make good silver stacking choices. If there are any other silver bullion tips that I missed please post them in the comments.

    Great video. I have some similar stories with my "deep" stack. Some major regrets, some that have done well. I try to stay logical with my stacking but sometimes the heart just wants what the heart wants.

    Thanks for showing us your stack and telling us the stories behind the items. Very useful info too! I like your vintage ingots collection and I truly believe they will always be sought after. The cat cameo was nice and you have some very nice people in the comment section. I love this channel! 🙂 All the very best to you!

    Great video and my cats 😺 love silver too... the SHINY stuff! I have to remind myself it's all about the weight and close to spot as possible. However, the artistry in silver rounds/coins/bars can become addictive. I collected the 2oz egyptian gods (minus khnum) and the queens' beast. I tried not to "Overpay" to fill the collection. My wife looked at them "ya, the coins are nice looking". Thanks for the daily morning videos on best silver and gold deals!!

    Hi Louie, thank you for the vlog! Since I've just started, I think all I have are deep stacked for now. It is very tempting to go after the seminumismatic or the stuff that looks pretty. I guess everything in moderation so long it's something you like. Lately I've been following your suggestions on buying on the dips and for now I'll try to keep focused on stacking weight.

    You made me my cigar box when I first started stacking. So, I’ve been stacking since 2018 and then I watched what increased in value in 2020 - 2021. I got to see what was desirable when fomo set in, so I changed up my strategy based on what I’ve learned. I’ve also learned throughout the years, you gotta sell it while it’s hot. If you hold onto new modern hot products, after a while they start being old news. I’ve rounded my stack out to eagles, Maples, Libertads, Morgan’s, peace dollars, quarters, dimes, half dollars, tubes of 2oz quest beasts when they were cheap, 5oz US state quarters, 5oz Libertads, very few generic rounds and bars. The coins that did the best for me were the 2oz reverse proof Libertads. I remember thinking, I just wanted them even though $100 -$120 seemed like a lot and now they’re worth hundreds. LCS won’t pay the higher prices but when I start selling, things like those will go on eBay.

    Always adding weight at cheapest price, I will add some Scottsdale premium stuff or pick up a Kookaburra for my wifes collection but it is not a priority. Numismatic type coins are another item I pick up on a very limited basis. Great video, excellent advice

    Interesting post old friend. So far I am doing prteey well. Lots and lots of weight and just a few yearly sets that will likely sell well. My tastes haven't changed much. A sucker for any old Lib's and 100 gram Scottsdale poured bars. A bunch of yearly Silver Forum pieces just for because. and lately decided that I have verry little of my own pieces I will do a couple a month. I gave myself a half dozen Tiny Tigers and a pyramid earlier on this month. Thanks a bunch Louie. Always a nice day hearing your voice bud.

    • @losinglouie
      @losinglouie  Před 2 měsíci +1

      Hi Dean! I kept one of almost everything I poured, but that kind of creates a problem if you ever want to monetize them. I guess those will go so deep not even I can sell them lol. Have a great weekend buddy.

      @@losinglouie It was really funny the one day not long ago I was shipping a bunch of things and realised "Hey, This piece is really good." Then the light came on, LOL. 8 years and thousands of pices shipped all over the world and a huge pile collected and stacked. Oh how I wish my Mary was here to see what she started colecting silver change and now me ordering 50 ozt + a month to do what I love doing and that is making folks feel good and being happy. It has all changed so much now. Most of the romance is all but gone. I still do a few carbonmolds like the Tiny Tigers but for the best part Petro is what people want. I hope we as pourers never forget the first KitKat we poured, That romance thing eh.Your a good friend Louie. Really glad to know you old friend. Dive, dive, dive eh. LOL.

    Compared to my full stack my deep stack items have become a very small percentage of my holdings. Things like Libertad 7 coin proof sets, a $10 gold Indian, etc.
    The only fun thing I am keeping up with now is the new series of Zombucks. Everything else the last 5 years has been just adding weight.
    Good video my friend!

    • @losinglouie
      @losinglouie  Před 2 měsíci

      Sold 98% of them at huge profits. Back in the day, they were cheaper than eagles. Thats when I bought 100's of ounces. But I monetized them already and have nothing much to show. Actually, forgot to mention them. I did pick up a couple tubes of the 2023 1 oz bu silver a while ago. So I guess I'm still somewhat hooked!

    I like your koala collection. Semi numismatics may not be hot today, but I haven’t gave up on them.
    Selling the poured silver is not much different than selling vintage. I’m strong on the poured stuff, but it will need more time. It’s very young still. God willing I have another 20+ years of stacking so I feel it will pay off one day. I don’t need a simplified stack yet.
    Thanks for the video bud. Stop buying Royal mint stuff lol it’s gonna spot.

  • @zzyzxRDFwy15
    @zzyzxRDFwy15 Před 2 měsíci +1

    Liked seeing those proof Milk Maids there, Louie. The Royal Mint really screwed over a lot of people by selling their lines of defective milky silver products.
    I thought a deep stack was the bulk weight of a stacker's silver that is not easily accessed nor that particularly interesting. Your deep stack looks more like an eclectic collection of silver related products and eBay offerings.

    • @losinglouie
      @losinglouie  Před 2 měsíci

      Some might define it that way, but deep seems to imply "hold on" for future appreciation. In other words, not to be sold easily for some reason. I guess if you never plan on selling, everything is deep stack...

  • @halfmoonblu
    @halfmoonblu Před 2 měsíci

    I have some poured silver I got early on that may be hard to sell, but I love it. Also some Scottsdale and a little Geiger. Do you think "premium" generics are bad choices for deep stacks?

    • @losinglouie
      @losinglouie  Před 2 měsíci +1

      Well if they are, I'm guilty too. I think it's worth the extra couple of bucks in case premiums on the good stuff rise.

  • @christopherallendunk

    It's all deep stack over here, but im no "stacker" 😂 i guess maybe your poured pick "rock the stack" maybe makes the deep stack. I got #16 😊 other than that are a box of various ms 69 slabs, most of the kookaburra dates, & all those different privy maples. Yeah I'll never recoup all the premium, but spot was low back then. I could buy eagles for $18, but im convinced in the principle of what im doing, so there's no regrets on any of it ❤

    • @losinglouie
      @losinglouie  Před 2 měsíci

  • @tomtharos4440

    I’ve never bought into proof bullion or rarity by design through “limited editions,” and could care less if my bullion isn’t perfect under 5x magnification, so I’ve been spared a lot of disappointment. I consider my 1 oz. silver bar collection deep stack. 15 of my 10 oz. bars are deep stack. Sets of 3 (3 RCM, 3 First Majestic, 3 Samurai, etc.) I hope my 3 children will be happy to divide between themselves. I have a collection of silver Buffalo rounds, different designs, different mints. My set of Australian Shipwrecks. A 2024 Extraordinarily High Relief Royal Canadian Mint Year of the Dragon. Some Capped Bust half dollars and Seated Liberty dollars graded AU or better. And a few other odds and ends like key date Trade Dollars, pre-1900 Japanese silver 1 Yen coins, and I’m slowly working on a collection of high grade coins minted 100 years before I was born, which unfortunately is a key or semi key date.

    I have no collectibles, no numismatics, no graded coins. I have metal (bullion/ contemporary coins/constitutional). I price shop and buy dips. So I guess I have a very shallow stack.
