The Magnatec Oil I used and like. Not all Oils can be used in Diesel as well as Gas/Petrol cars. This can: amzn.to/2AY8uBp
This oil also is great with newer BMW's with stop start technology as it clings to parts longer.

Very good. Can you explain how to remove the two screws at back side. Especially right hand side is not a normal screw.
And no need to unscrew the flange of the eccentric valvetronic sensor next to the engine oil cap? Normally oil leaks near this flange.

It is about having a range of tools. I think I used a flexible shaft socket on the left rear and a small ring spammer on the right side.

BMW 320i year 2006, European version (left hand side drive) does not seem to be that easy. That stiffening bar kinda gets in the way.. Together with cable harnesses (on top, in those hoses). I was not able to remove the cover ( 4:35 ). I also don't have enough tools to remove that bar as well...

very helpful this.. ! followed it and got the gasket replaced (and oil leak stopped) But started the car when finished (it all went back together without a problem reversing the disassembly procedure) and damn thing showed an engine fault on the dash, OBD reader said an error from the ex. cam sensor ... doh :( replaced the sensor and the car still reporting a fault. Its gone to BMW to sort

Glad to hear the first bit and sorry to hear the second. I wonder was a wire broken with the movement? Let us know what they found so we can all learn. MRT

      @@Marksreviewsandtutorials wow....! in answer.
The BMW tech report says and i quote - Engine Valvetronic servomotor is not working because the power supply from the multi fuse box on top of the battery is faulty . Replace entire power distributor on top of the battery because a non replaceable fuse has blown
Like I said... wow! And curiously, zero other electrical faults have shown up ;)
