Cowboys and Colts were bad sure but Jimmy Johnson, Jim Mora much better coaches than what AOC had to deal with in McDaniels. Even after he left it was still his system, that ain’t an easy one.
I was impressed with Aidan last year, I think if they’re patient he will be fine.

Gannon also developed a much improved pocket presence with the Raiders. He manufactured a lot of key yards with his feet in that 4 year Gruden/Callahan span. Aiden was starting to show some shifty ability the last 4 games. I’m sticking with 13-4 this year shocking the NFL and re-kindling a Raider dominance for years to come….in AP we trust

@@drumrecoverynetwork977 he was far from athletic compared to many running quarterbacks. Gannon had good pocket awareness and knew when to run. It took Gannon years and a failed tenure in Minnesota to become the qb we knew and loved.
There is no competition. Aidan is the starting qb
Aidan goes as far as the Oline allows him to.
Good protection- Aidan solidifies himself as the qb going forward. Aidan attacks the field and the run game makes the offense well balanced.
Bad protection-Aidan is running for life, forces passes, throws off his timing and the run game is non existent. Minshew will struggle as well with his inability to get the ball downfield.

@@chefmarcosMinshew and jimmy are the only qbs that struggle with arm talent for the raiders. Jarrett Stidham before he was traded shown above average arm strength. Aidan also shares that same upside. Minshew is the clear loser only able to outrun Aidan as a qb. Pocket awareness is going to Aidan, arm strength, accuracy, and being able to run the offense. Adam’s, Meyers,Jacobi Meyers, Tre Tucker are all deep downfield threats. Unfortunately Minshew can’t even throw the ball 25 yards downfield. If Minshew is winning the battle why is every single video showing Aidan as the winner? Cause he’s beating Minshew at the moment so just accept the reports and be salty when Minshew is on the bench. He doesn’t have much upside and he’s grossly overpaid. 5 mill is the absolute very most Minshew deserves not a penny more.
Last year, which team had better receivers and who had a better defense, Raiders or Colts? Why was Minshew able to beat us ? I seen minshew put up almost 40 on a good Cleveland defense, but let some people tell it, he has no arm. 🤦♂️stop disrespecting the players on the team.

If Minshew were a starter, why not ask for starter money, which is over 20mil a year. Why take backup money?
Technically the competition between them doesn’t start until they actually play against opponents who want to hit them, push them around, break up plays, force them out of the pocket, make them make plays with their legs and overall test their skillsets and last but not least, keep the fanbase happy 😃
Our defense will be top 5, but I promise you, AOC’s level of play is what is going to be a hot topic for these big media ppl who don’t know shit about our team but love to talk.

Not a maybe. Actually what happened. On record, he was told that his main objective was to not turn the ball over. This season will have a different objective and show a different AOC. Think more of AOC during preseason last year.

Aoc walked into a tough situation as our coaching situation sucked. He didn’t get many reps in camp. This year he will get those reps. We need to give him time.

If Aiden O can learn to move out of the pocket/extend plays he’d be my QB1. If not, our O-Line would need to protect him/give him more time in the pocket. Other than these 2 scenarios, Minshew would be my pick.

Aiden didn’t step into an established offense fyi. It was a broken offense with seriously broken morale. On top of that McDummy sabotaged him and then AP wanted ball control over gunslinging. I’m super excited to see Aiden ball put this season. I have a feeling he will shock the league by the 2nd half of the season.
If Aiden had folded up last year, like you would expect from most backup rookies with a coach fired, offensive coordinator fired, doing what he did, I don't think Pierce would have been offerred the coaching job at the end of the season. Pierce owes him his chance.

Yep. A couple NFL executives were asked about AOC, They said he would have been drafted in the 1st round this year.
If he came out after his junior year he would have been a first round pick he stayed in college and the team regressed and it cost his draft status. He still took that team to the Big 10 championship but they lost then his brother died suddenly a few weeks later.
Yes, I remember hearing about that... Mentally Tough is another QB trait that a lot of QB's don't have. Raiden has it on a extreme upper Level.. Maybe this is what Brady had.?

Nonetheless. I'm good with either QB. Imma trust AP and Getsy let them cook, but I'll say this. We haven't had this many weapons on the offense and this level of depth on the line in a very long time. Just being a top 20-25 QB in this offense if our defense is as good or better than advertised, we'll wind up in the playoffs.

O'Connell is only getting 1st string reps because he was already here, minshew will be starting qb by the end of preseason or whenever AP decides to hand over the reigns to gaurdawg once he sees O'Connell not take that next step by week 8 because we got the chiefs coming to Vegas and shouldn't expect the defense to shut them down and win with O'Connell only throwing for 60 yards all game.
The offense was not good. It don't matter how pretty the house looks, if the foundation (OL) is weak, the house will fall. And that is why AOC had issues. Just like Bryce Young. I definitely think he will make a huge jump this year. Everytbing is just going In his favor. He's getting the reps. Offensive scheme fits his style. The OL is better. More dynamic offense, more weapons. Everything is set up for his success. And we do make the playoffs.

AOC gonna be a better than average QB. I don’t know that he’s a Top 10, but his attitude and work ethic are the right fit. I also feel that Gardner is the right guy to be in the room with him. Not that there isn’t competition, but I think both guys get it’s about the Shield, not the position.

AOC has always showed that he is able to take a huge leap forward in his 2nd year. At all 3 levels. From H.S. to college and now the NFL. Every time in his 2nd year in those programs he has stepped-up. Hopefully this is the case again.
AOC 2nd year as a starter at Purdue he was worse in every single QB metric that exist except TD he had 2 more, every thing you said is completely made up
If he was a 1st rounder people would of been calling him a bust after what he did last year. He majority if teams he played were shit and he couldn't do much of anything in the 2nd 1/2 of games.
If he was a 1st rd pick he would have gotten some reps with the starters and in practice during the time he didn't play. Instead he came in cold and was told not to turn the ball over and take the safe throws. He started to shake that off when learned the offense and had time with the starters and played better. I don't know if he's going to be good or not either but it's not as far-fetched as people think he had some great years in college.

Almost all of the fans that are crapping on AOC never watched a snap of him when he was in college and have no idea how good he was. If he came out after his junior year he would have been a 1st round pick so he's not your typical 4th round pick in fact, if you trust PFF (which I don't even though I like it ) they talked about him having a chance to be good. He actually moved around in the pocket pretty well in college although he's never going to be Pat Mahomes even though he ran a faster 40 at the combine. I'm not saying he's going to set the world on fire because none of us know that all i'm saying is he has a better chance than a lot of people think.

I dont know man… Yes he showed signs of being great but I still need to see him at the helm from the beginning with this coaching staff so we can really see what he can do. I mean, come on… Everyone here can’t tell me that this kid didn’t look lost in the sauce out there on many occasions.. Anybody who says he wasn’t, doesn’t know what the heck they were looking at. When you have games where you threw 0 to few receptions the last half makes me raise an eyebrow. Yes he really stepped it up for that win against the Chargers but i dont know how so many people can say “he’s the man”… I need to see more and see that he can handle it. I understand the situation he was in last year but his play left me feeling like it wasn’t horrible but not great either.
Sorry but the Raiders defense wasn’t doing good till Antonio pierce was hired as head coach and then the defense woke up. Aiden O’Connell is our quarterback and he is good quarterback and he will get better because he has confidence in himself.
Im sure he does have the edge with no pass rush , Nobody knows how good or bad this o-line will be .

Aiden is good enough to start, but I don’t think the QB competition is over until after Preseason. Anthony Brown Jr is an average passer but he can’t play his game in practice because the QB can’t really run. Anthony Brown Jr can only stop himself from balling out in preseason

Hell if we would’ve be able to get any of the top QB’s in the first round, they would’ve started over AOC and Minshew easily
