It feels like he's a graduate of those icky pick-up artist courses that teach men how to manipulate women into bed. A less secure/mature woman would be swept off her feet with the faux sweetness of the knitting thing only for him to "admit" that he's never been faithful (hint: but maybe YOU can change me). Of course the closer is "show me more" = prove to me you're worthy of my attention and love. Unfortunately, the reality is that there's too many of us who weren't given unconditional love as children or who have barely survived through toxic relationships with men and so are vulnerable to exactly this type of treatment. I'm sure that whole schict has been very effective for him getting vulnerable young women to put up with him and his demands. I'm so glad Charity sent him packing. I hope this helps other women recognize men who might try similar shenanigans and realize they don't have to blindly trust.
Charity's level of humour, maturity, clear communication, and romance are just unmatched! What an incredible lead. I feel like she really shone in this episode, especially when talking to Xavier 😅.

Xavier has been trying to get Charity to breakup with him for awhile. ("Fear of being with one person", "fear of losing freedom" means you are not the person for him and he is just not that into you.) Xavier didn't want to breakup with Charity because he seems non-confrontational. She just didn't get the message and kept trying to work through his concerns, when the real issue was Xavier just didn't want Charity. Charity should have caught on to this much earlier.

Charity has two great guys. Dotun brings out her woman and intellectual side and Joey brings out her teenage love/inner child. I can see her having a life with both. She’s the only one who knows what side would be compatible with her life.

I agrée that Dotun brings more the intellectual side of her. But sometimes Dotun tries too hard to sound intelligent by using adjectives that are too academic and not necessarily used as they should . But he definitely sounded more academically educated even than Xavier who is a PHD candidate, or the Harvard grad.

I applaud Charity's courage this week. She was gutted to hear Xavier's funny business out but once it all clicked, she managed to compose herself and nip him in the bud as soon as it was possible for her. I'm glad Xavier is out now. She's right, this isn't "build-a-man workshop." I love a gutsy queen!
I never understood the Xavier fans who thought he was good with Charity. He always seemed emotionally unavailable, like he was holding back, and not particularly in touch with himself. His behavior in this episode didn't surprise me at all.

Xavier's lack of accountability really bothered me. Just how he handled the conversation, even with the caveat that it absolutely could have been him not being able to fully articulate his views well. Saying how cheating on a girlfriend might be okay but he wouldn't cheat on a wife just showcases a lack of respect for his partner that felt gross. Every wife was once a girlfriend. No matter what your partner's status, you should hold a basic respect for them. Plus how can you promise to remain a faithful husband without being even a faithful boyfriend first?
So Xavier has to pledge absolute fidelity to a gf the same week Charity is shagging two other boyfriends. Equal rights?

Loved the opening sequence, thanks fantake for capturing what I'm confident was a lot of people's reactions. No human is all good or all bad but i think Xavier has more growing up to do and was not ready for a relationship. Also his honesty while much appreciated was so brutal it felt like he was self sabotaging. Xavier's family vouched for his readiness because Xavier may be ready, just not with Charity. In my opinion, he was just not that into her, but didn't want to be the one to breakup since he seems like someone who would want to avoid that kind of confrontation. He wanted her to breakup with him instead. He has been dropping hints for awhile, but finally had to tell Charity something outrageous so she could finally get the message and send him home.
Yea this ain't making sense. So you are telling me he's not a cheater but rather a liar and immature. Either case. It's not looking good for him. How about you stop defending him and rather believe him when he tells you who he is. I feel he could say he's a murderer and you would still find a justification for him.

He really torched it. Like if your going to confess to this (which you should be honest), don't make excuses and just admit it was an awful thing to do. And that by telling your partner, your giving them vital info so they can make a choice about being with you, warts and all.

You know who wasn’t shocked by Xavier’s bombshell??? THE PRODUCERS!! I totally blame them for putting her in this position with him. They had to know. It was a piece of drama that they needed so they kept him along and where prob pushing her to give him more time bts.

I actually really enjoyed watching Charity as the bachelorette! First, this is one of the first seasons in a long time, where there was little meddling from the production to add more drama to the season. It felt more like it was actually about Charity finding and connecting with genuine men.
As far as this episode, when Xavier said "I need to see more", I was ready for the scene to end. He was telling Charity he was out without actually saying he was out. Good for Charity for trusting herself enough to know the red flags were no longer hidden, but glaring her in the face! Great episode!
Her gut feeling was right!
But she never acted on her gut feeling. She would've gone to FS with Xavier had he not been vigorously waving two red flags at her during dinner.

Tbh I felt bad for him. To me, with the benefit of full context, it sounded like he has times when he gets sad and withdrawn and that’s hard on his partners. I truly hope he examines this on his own and perhaps seeks help if it’s something he doesn’t like about himself. Because it sounded like he doesn’t, but it also sounded like he doesn’t know how to break that cycle. Which is all too relatable to so many.
Bottom line, though: I agree with you. That sounds like something you should probably address before getting engaged.

I had that feeling that when Xavier said "I don't know if I can commit to one woman for life", wasn't just about getting engaged with so little time. I knew she had to send him home when he said that.
I think that to move on with the fantasy suit they do say "I'm in love with you" I remember it distinctly with Taisha, Kaity (even though she had only one guy left by that time), Michel, and Clayton, even though with him it was shocking that he said to be in live with all three women, but that's more common that one might think.
Xavier really turned me off. There’s a big difference between not knowing if someone’s your forever person or even not knowing if you can be with one woman forever and CHEATING on a woman you are with. He cheated with someone he’d been with two years, he didn’t break up with her so he could date other women. And what’s his excuse? That it’s hard not to cheat when he’s on vacation with his boys? WTF? Nope nope nope.
I agree it may be more common than people think! It's only rare to fall in love with multiple people because its rare to seriously date multiple people at once.
