I'm a domestic violence survivor and her coming out like that was so brave. It's such a hard thing to talk about. Let alone to the world. Mad respect for her.
I do find it a bit upsetting that the show uses people in this way to get a trauma p*rn narrative. These women are isolated from the world and pressured to stand out, so there are definitely coercive conversations happening. I just hope she doesn’t regret sharing it or feel used

My ex never hit me, but he was emotionally abusive, and a lot of what she said, especially about how if she hadn't left either her ex would've killed her or she would've killed herself, made me feel less alone. I hope that she's surrounded by supportive and loving people who can show her what she deserves like I am now.

I think it’s worthy to mention how “karen” esque it was of Anastasia to insinuate that kylee actually wanted to physically fight.. and then when she was called out on it & the same thing was done to her Anastasia was suddenly the perfect victim 😕🙄

I like the way he didn't want to kiss Anastasia in front of all of the other girls so he offered her his cheek when she wanted a kiss. It was either because he is a gentleman and didn't want to hurt the other girl's feelings, or he just wasn't feeling a connection with her. Either way, I liked him for that.
The fact that a woman of color said “I don’t like to fight, but” in a scenario where she was obviously referring to a verbal sparring, and a white woman then went and told everyone “I’m ScArEd FoR mY sAfEtY” is INFURIATING.

Anastasia should have known better. It was very obvious what Kylie meant. I wonder if that was actually part of the reason why Zach sent Anastasia home and kept Kylie?

Zach is not playing around with any drama. It seems he knows what he wants, and he maintains in focus. So far, the women are self eliminating one by one.
Doing the math makes Brooklyn experience even more inspiring as she said she was in that relationship for 6 years and since she’s 25 now, she would’ve been a teenager when she first started dating her abuser. Depending on how long ago she was able to leave the relationship, she could’ve been only 16 or 17 years old and possibly even with one of her first serious boyfriends, which makes her willingness to open up and her ability to still hope for real love that much more inspiring.

Not gonna lie. I was one of those people who was annoyed when Zach was announced because I didn't see much character surfing Rachel and Gabbys season, but Holy moly... I was wrong. He's my favorite Bachelor thus far!

I’m honestly really liking this season so far. Zach is a little lowkey, but I don’t mind it. It’s nice to not have a lead that’s extremely annoying and controversial. And the drama is mild, but it’s actually a breath of fresh air. I like how lighthearted this season is so far. However I’m not really seeing any standouts for bachelorette. Only lady from this season is like to see as lead is Christina, but that probably won’t happen.
Maybe Charity or Ariel. Or even Brooklyn, Gabby, Kaity or Katherine. We’ll see more of these women and maybe get to know and like them.

As a black woman, I immediately recognized the fighting stuff with Anastasia and Kylee as a microaggression, at the VERY least. Pure shenanigans. "Aggressive woman of color" narrative strikes again. I'm glad the other ladies didn't buy it.
I felt the EXACT same way. The historical context of these kinds of statements by white women is troubling to say the least and I was so disappointed to see the same dynamic play out here

I adore Zach being the Bachelor to stop the drama practically right then and there instead of letting it go on and simmer to the point of a volcanic eruption (like producers want)- WE NEED THIS TYPE OF BACHELOR!!!
What I do not adore is all these girls still clearly having a high school mean girl mentality( and the ego to match it) crying over not getting a one on one at the drop of a hat! It's gotten old and annoying and its going into week 5 of this.
I can make this recap even shorter:

To be honest, the drama between of Kylee and Anastasia shouldn't have gone down. Anastasia didn't have to instigate a whole ass microaggression with Kylee and she should have approached her instead of spreading the situation among ALL the girls. TO me that's disgusting and I will never tolerate the racism ever.
Now on a different note, I don't think Kylee was telling the complete truth about the things she said vs, intended, Also, even the sit-down conversation where she even said extra info about the Instagram followers was not because Zac pressed for more info, it was the fact she was trying to prove a pattern of Anastasia's behavior.
So while Anastasia was def manipulative, I don't necessarlrly find Kylee any better at this moment.

In my opinion, Anastasia misinterpreted kylee was a microaggression so, I'm really not upset about her getting sent home lol she definitely escalated kylee's statements because she assumed she was being aggressive due to her race. Like Gabriel said ,most people would not have take taken it that way.

This recap was HILARIOUS in every single way! The clip of Rihanna's super bowl dancers running out was perfectly timed!
Remember that one time in this episode where Kylie said, “She is even more manipulative than me” (referring to Anastasia)? She inadvertently admitted to being manipulative, just my observation.
Also, her “tears” at this cocktail party felt contrived and manipulative.
I felt the same way. Hence why in my eyes they are sort of on different sides of the same coin.
I can’t remember exactly what Kylie said…but something like Zach asked for the scoop in the house. Not true. IMO she likes to stir the pot.

I wanted to add that she shouldn't have been on that group date. They should have known not to put her on that date.
Some people are saying that Zach would be bad in a relationship because he doesn’t know how to handle drama. I wholeheartedly disagree. If anything he’s proving that he can and that he doesn’t like drama which is absolutely understandable. When he said he doesn’t want to dwell on petty drama because of how little time they have, he’s right. It proves that the guy is on a mission and he doesn’t want drama that doesn’t matter to get in the way of that.
Instead of not squashing the drama immediately and encouraging it by inaction like Peter and Clayton, Zach is going right past the bullshit and to what he’s focusing on. And I think that’s a great thing.

I really appreciate that you give trigger warnings with time stamps. Luckily I'm not someone who needs them, but i think it's lovely as a society we've moved to this point where we're trying to be empathetic towards other peoples' happiness and comfort and it's just routine to do so. Yeah, I used to watch the Super Bowl for the commercials and halftime show, and now I can't even bother to bring myself to care. I did give my esthetician some bibs, one of which I drew "49ers" on because it was 2020, baby's first Super Bowl, his home team, and my first time seeing her after maternity leave. That's the last time I cared about it other than avoiding food delivery and restaurants with TVs.
you can definitely tell who Zach is into and who he’s not. he’ll look at someone in the eyes, that means he’s into them (Kaity, Gabbi, Jess) and then he won’t really look at someone when talking to them meaning he’s not that into them (Anastasia, Kylee) basically anyone who brings up drama he suddenly loses interest in them
You can also tell by the way he kisses them!

Ok but honestly he bugs me by not being more assertive. I felt like Anastasia’s fight comment was stupid but it’s also stupid to accuse her of not being there for the right reasons for literally answering questions…like no one mentioned who was asking her those questions? But she wasn’t dishonest about her job and she’s been open about what her job is from the jump so it’s weird to hold that against her now.
But overall Zach needs to step up and when two women want time with him at the same time he’s going to have to tell one to wait and make a choice. He can’t be a bystander when he’s the lead.
But personally I’d have sent both Kylie and Anastasia home for that bs because clearly she wasn’t in any physical danger but Kylie also shouldn’t have brought up the instagram crap.
I mean, he's been pretty darn assertive everywhere else. I think he just didn't know the correct course of action so he didn't take one, it is what it is. They are adults he is not their parent, watching them handle a dispute is a good way to judge a person. He squashed it before it became huge by the end of it.
