    Awesome review Jonathan, and that red dial is mesmerizing. Love this model from Pedal.

      It is a perfect mix of bold and understated, depending on how you dress it up. I'm excited for Kevin to finally get it launched. Cheers

    So many great colorways, but I'm in for the aventurine...I like it as much as any and it's a bit of a deal. That red you have is awesome and I like the blue...I like them all...even the Joker's Tux. Thanks for showing this watch so well.

      This one does feature a slew of options! One of the most I've seen in a single launch. The Aventurine is eye catching and agreed about it being a great deal. You can't go wrong with any. My pleasure, buddy 🥂

    Great review and a cool designed watch! Curious. A couple of times you mentioned that the watch is “henta design ” what does that mean and what is the distinction between henta and genta? Also don’t google “henta watch” unless you’re looking for specific types of anime… I just learned that 😂

      🤣 Sorry about that 🤭 I'm sure it's just my terrible pronunciation. Thanks so much for the support 🥂

      @@JonathanTReviews oh okay! That makes sense. I’ve always heard it pronounced with a J sound. I thought I was unaware of another variation of watch designs that I needed to look into.

      Unfortunately understandable. A handful of bad actors soured things for many. Hopefully they'll be successful and there will be a chance for future direct orders. Cheers

    Nice! Weird dial shape, but why not? It's unusual, but it works in design language. Bracelet looks good too. Glad to see Jonathan that these guys will do something to get away from the ubiquitous generic Miyota rotor - always a bugbear of mine!

    • @JonathanTReviews
      @JonathanTReviews  Před 4 měsíci +1

      Agreed, they'd pulled it together quite well (design and execution)! Definitely, the new rotor will really elevate it. I hope the smoke tint is relatively light so it's still front and center. Cheers

    I've commented on this watch elaborately elsewhere, so I'll try to be more succinct. Is it good value? Most certainly. Is it original? Undeniably. Is it attractive? Reasonably persuasive. Is it identifiable among other integrated bracelet watches? No problem. Is there a need for rounded diamond shape dials? Not necessarily. Does this design make the most out of that form factor? Arguably not. And that can already be seen thanks to the many other models that are being teased up ahead by Pedral. This red dial is probably the most attractive dial variant I have seen reviewed of the artefact. It's pretty good actually, working well with the dial furniture and texture. More so, than the blue I've seen in my view and certainly far more interesting than the aventurine. My problem is that I don't truly seem to click with it. Ultimately the rounded diamond shape, while original I itself, is otherwise not sufficiently persuasive in its originality and stylistic execution to keep me interested. I'm intrigued by the brand and the route ahead, more than by the watch. Part of that may be that it is actually mounted on an elongated round base. I was surprised to see it come across as small alongside Direnzo, Wise, and Zelos, while on your wrist, I found this a tad overwhelming. Yes, sure, it still fits, but you need to like it reasonably large. I think that does also apply to the Direnzo, but here's the crux: fit the rounded diamond within the circumference of a round 39.5mm base and you get a noticeably smaller dial, on an almost equally large watch. I do love the wrist roll and the flow around the wrist of the lugs. That is perhaps a greater champion of the design than other elements. So, who knows, with a great round dial design rather than something that doggedly carves out brand identity on the basis of a slightly left field shape, I might have found myself more tempted. Not that I dislike the shape, but I also feel it alone brings too little to the table. The hands, equally are very restraint, though the touch of the open worked tips is nice (don't these refer to the A in the logo?). So far, the response on KS seems like warm. I was perhaps expecting a bit more considering how long the run up has been. I'm not sure a more eccentric model based around this shape would do better. The value for a very well specified and produced aventurine dial watch is undeniably there, so that alone could attract punters for the flavour of the day. I also think that it would have been smarter for the brand to focus on less variants (and fewer models in general). Something good is here. I'm sympathetic to it, but the reviews seen have not brought me closer to wanting to be an adopter.

      Thanks for sharing your feedback. You always bring intriguing insights. The design will definitely be polarizing, particularly the rounded diamond portion, but it is familiar enough I think most will reasonably warm up in usage. Agreed about the sizing. My wrist is about the minimum range. It's always interesting to see the difference non-round dials bring in presence. Cheers

    Kickstarter....no thanks. I wish these companies would believe enough in their product to try to fund it themselves instead of taking people's money and then the people have to just hope that the watch gets released after who knows how long that they already put the money down.

    • @JonathanTReviews
      @JonathanTReviews  Před 4 měsíci

      Understandable. The bad apples have really soured sentiment. In addition to the funding, I think the broad exposure (beyond just enthusiasts) is part of why it's still enticing for brand owners. Cheers

    Integrated bracelet kills it. A dress watch can't take leather straps.

    • @JonathanTReviews
      @JonathanTReviews  Před 4 měsíci

      I personally like many integrated bracelet watches, though you're right about the downside. The bracelet can make or break it. I think it works well here and suits the dressy sport styling, but I can see it turning some off. Cheers

    That wobble bezel, etc, is off putting to me. There is far too many options also. I'll pass.

      @JonathanTReviews  Před 4 měsíci

      Understandable, the style will be polarizing. I appreciate the design and think it looks sharp, but am still partial to my more traditional Mondials. Cheers
