      Thanks so much! That's awesome, it's a really great offering. I'll definitely be adding more Wise watches and may even get another one of these Damascus AD7's (eyeing the Dark Grey). Cheers

    Looks like my Aqua Terra 38. Heck, I think I might even pick this up for daily wear, since I'm always worried about adding scratches to my AT, which is my most expensive watch.

    • @JonathanTReviews
      @JonathanTReviews  Před 3 měsíci

      It gives me AT and Grand Seiko vibes as well. Definitely a great daily wear option. I think you'd be pleasantly surprised with how good it is for the price. Cheers

    I have the blue one and I couldn’t be happier with it. The case is bold and beautiful. The hands and indices are fantastic. The light play always makes me look twice. Or three times. Can’t stop looking at it when I wear it.
    The biggest surprise has been the legibility. I think it’s only second to my Sinn U1 in legibility among my collection. A quick glance is all you need. And the lume.. good grief. Puts my seiko divers to shame. It’s still glowing brightly at 3-4 am. There’s literally nothing I don’t love about this watch.

    This may be my favorite brand ATM. I basically have, or want, their entire catalog. I kinda want reviewers to stop covering them for my wallet's sake

    • @JonathanTReviews
      @JonathanTReviews  Před 4 měsíci +2

      I feel your pain! They're putting out increasingly good watches, which is saying a lot when their early models weren't exactly shabby either. Apologies in advance though, I have a feeling more will be covered 😂 I'm eyeing several.

    This is a beautiful dress watch, I love everything about it, great value for the money! Perhaps one of the things I could do without would be the minute and especially the hour text next to the indices, since this text does not provide useful information. I am wearing the Adamascus AD8 Bronze as I am seeing your review. I can attest to the attention to detail on the Wise watches.

    • @JonathanTReviews
      @JonathanTReviews  Před 4 měsíci +1

      It is a super value and gorgeous piece! Fortunately, the numerals are so cleanly and well done, it blends well in daily usage. Some of the best printed text I've seen (technically speaking). The AD8 looks stellar too. Can't wait to check one out. Cheers

    • @j1d7s
      @j1d7s Před 4 měsíci +1

      @JonathanTReviews Wise is discontinuing the bronze AD8. It is my first bronze case watch and I love it. The particular green on the dial of the model I chose is a perfect match for the bronze. I also like the slightly angled indices and hands a lot, this plays nicely with the light. The only very minor downside was that the bezel action is quite stiff, although it is very precise. I am considering the model you showed, too. I always wanted a watch of a similar style, Grand Seiko and King Seiko have similar dials, but they are just too expensive in comparison.

    • @JonathanTReviews
      @JonathanTReviews  Před 4 měsíci +1

      I noticed they mentioned it being the last bronze AD8. They look sharp. The bezel stiffness could be in part from the bronze. They're more prone to stiffening as internal patina develops, though this one could just be the way it's dialed in. I think you'd love the AD7! It's such a good design. Cheers

      Thanks buddy! It is so freaking good! Even though it doesn't cost very much, I find myself extra protective over it, making sure nothing comes into contact and mars it 😂 I went back and forth between this one and the Dark Grey as my favorites. I'm very happy with my decision but still may add the Grey too. They all look excellent though. I look forward to seeing your choice! Cheers

    • @JonathanTReviews
      @JonathanTReviews  Před měsícem +2

      Thank you! You really can't go wrong with either, depending on preference. The polished damascus is more subtle than typical damascus offerings, however, the pattern is still reasonably noticeable. For me, I definitely wanted the damascus as I appreciate the material/craft and wanted the look. It's not for everyone though and is arguably less versatile/traditional, which is where the polished 904L comes into play. Good luck! Cheers

    • @JonathanTReviews
      @JonathanTReviews  Před měsícem +1

      @danielday7033 If you like the look, I'd for sure go damascus! It's very well done, a cool effect, and much less common (especially in a polished execution).

      You convinced me to purchase the Damascus version. I agree, its unique and just needed something exquisite and worthy for the price point in my collection. Unfortunately, I am currently deployed and will have to wait until I get home to enjoy it. It ships out in August. Again, thanks for your review on this timepiece!

    Good review! There are so many choices for this AD7 version. The Damascus Stainless Steel should be better than just Damascus Steel that will corrode and rust. Can anyone share on this point?

    • @JonathanTReviews
      @JonathanTReviews  Před 25 dny +1

      Definitely a nice range of options! Yes, in my opinion, most carbon steels would not work well on a watch. Going with two stainless steels achieved the look without increasing maintenance. Cheers

      They use 904L SS, like Rolex. It's more corrosion resistant, but slightly softer than 316L.

    Stunning late 60's / 70's dress vibe. I just wish they had covered up the movement. I don't normally say that, but this Miyota movement is not very well decorated and ALL the microbrands that use it have the exact same rotor fitted, but just with a different (cheap looking) brand logo stamped on it. It would have been better to hide it away behind a really nice case back imho. But it's a small detail on an otherwise great watch.

    • @JonathanTReviews
      @JonathanTReviews  Před 4 měsíci +2

      It is a great looking design with just the right amount of vintage IMO. For its price point, I don't think the 9 series movements look bad, but I get what you mean. They're not the fanciest in the world and many of the rotors are very similar. With this material in particular, I wouldn't turn down some additional surface area to showcase the beautiful damascus. Cheers

    • @JonathanTReviews
      @JonathanTReviews  Před 2 měsíci +1

      In my opinion, if anything, it wears large for a dressier watch. I think you'd be just fine with your wrist size. It's more in the 40mm territory with presence. Cheers

    Too small to my mind

    • @JonathanTReviews
      @JonathanTReviews  Před 4 měsíci +4

      It still has a good amount of presence. For a dress style watch, it's on the larger side of typical range IMO, but it's right in the sweet spot for a sport style for most wrists. I'm sure there are others that would prefer larger too though. Maybe 40 and 38mm versions would be a solid compromise. Cheers

    • @williamsipe1151
      @williamsipe1151 Před 4 měsíci +2

      Guys with wrists bigger than 8.5" kinda get left out in the dress watch world.

    • @JonathanTReviews
      @JonathanTReviews  Před 4 měsíci

      Yeah, dress watches do tend to gravitate smaller (even as much of the market shifts that direction in general). Many, including myself, would have preferred this one to be a smidge smaller as it is. I think the biggest issue is what's selling. Zelos, for example, gets a lot of requests for larger models like the Great White. However, the last batch didn't sell well, and that was before almost everything started moving smaller across the board.
