  • Today we review the Golf MK7 GTD and what the journey has been like for almost 3 years.
    This Golf GTD has a serious exhaust and hardcut limiter sound off it.
    While it's no golf mk7 GTI or Golf R. It still holds its own, especially in a drag race. Its acceleration is vicious and its torque is to thank for that (over 450nm of it).

      Start-stop has a serious impact on cars without EGR deletes. During cold operation, stop allows exhaust gasses and soot to condense on all surfaces downstream of and including the valve while cold, shortening the life of all components.

    there are too many false dyno numbers on these cars, its a well known fact the stock fuel pump will not give enough fuel to allow for 240+ bhp, so people claiming 250bhp are very wrong. 245bhp to wheels is deffo incorrect mate, you do realise on a fwd car the loss from wheels to crank is around 12% meaning your car would be 270bhp.

    • @liamting
      @liamting Před 2 lety +4

      Agreed but don’t think he’s bullshitting on purpose I think he’s just misinformed.
      Mpg he’s way off the mark, should hold 30mpg around town driving the ballbag off it, should do 40+ B road bashing and easily 55mpg on a steady run, tuning diesels almost always makes them much more efficient which in turn means decent power and mpg.
      Power will be at the crank not wheels.
      I’ve got a stage 3 Q3 tdi with the one generation older 177 2.0tdi and that made 245hp 400ft lbs with the following,
      GTC1556 hybrid @2.1 bar, 2.5” turbo back exhaust, alloy FMIC, CP4 fuel pump metering valve upgrade, 4 bar map sensor and pipercross CAI, the turbo has a little more left in it however even with the metering valve upgrade I was getting rail drain.
      He is right he’s stage 2 from the exhaust but even with a custom tune to suit the exhaust you’re looking at a max of 10hp and 20ft lbs torque up and over stage 1 numbers, that said I know of couple of tuners that have pushed the stock 1549 and 1449 turbos to 240hp but you’re asking for trouble, they will make this sort of power but not safe by any means.

    Hello, I have a question about Mr. vw gtd if you were driving the gti in the 7th generation because in the movie you said you had 5th generation. Is there a difference in response to the accelerator pedal between the gti 7 and gtd? In your gtd turbo is changed or standard? after changing the program, the reaction to the gas pedal has not deteriorated, I mean low revs, thank you.

    stop/start isn’t dangerous, in a manual the start up should be quicker than the time it takes for you to put it in gear. In an auto it should be on by the time your going on the accelerator. If it doesn’t manage to do this within that time frame, it’s either a horrible system on that car or your starter motor/battery isn’t running great. In my BMW, the engine is on by the time I haven’t even fully let go of the brake… amazing system and I get much better fuel economy with it on. (It’s an auto)
