    Great video on the GTD. Who cares what it cost, any car person that will understand that. The owner of the carr must love the GTD Golfs, now hes got one of the fastest GTD's out there. Great work.

    I had a quick bora tdi a few years ago, with many darkside goodies, quality parts, but skimped out on the turbo and used a hybrid instead of one the darkside kits. Wished i hadnt. Hybrid wasnt too bad but not as good as a gtb would have been. But the knowledge and effort that these guys have is top notch, i was totally blown away when i went to visit at how well equipped and how modern their site is. This video also just shows the tip of the iceberg of ryan and scotts knowledge. Always interesting your videos, and youre well overdue getting onto youtube!! Many more interesting videos to come hopefully

      Yeah i got the original one rebuilt by diesel bob... wanted reliability, least i know it should be good for a few years, you never know with a used one. Car wasnt the cheapest one out there either so not happy as it is but oh well. Will get there in the end!

    Really interesting video series. It was very informative to listen to how you managed to get so much power from that engine. Also , interesting to learn about the intake valves ports being in series .

    on the open road that will be fast when its in gear/ i have a mapped GTD i guess circa 215/217bhp they do a nice slow drive or nice quick one.

    My 7,200 lb truck does 0-60 in 5.6 seconds on an unpreped surface in 2wd. 505 HP and 1020 lb of torque. It’s doesn’t get even close to 45 MPG though. I want one of these little cars lol

    Great video. Nice power increase there. My 2015 Octavia VRS DSG did 100mph in 16s with a DTUK box. That thing is another level. I take it they are the same engine and turbo setup. Also much nicer audio, keep em coming!!

      @@DarksideDevelopments by a big margin. I believe you were limited because of the clutch also even though it's a upgraded clutch as you stated. Was really expecting a rolling 100-200 kmh or 60-180 kmh.

      I got 154mph from my remapped 2.0 TDI MK3 Octavia vRS. So imagine the possibility with the S3 intercooler, GTD2877 Turbo, darkskide induction kit, 02Q Dual mass with SRE performance clutch and obviously the short shifter!!! £££££££££

    hello, have you had problems with the exhaust gas pressure sensor? by chance you have deleted it through the control unit? it should be the lambda probe

      All DPF cars have pressure sensor issues. They are easily erased when the Filter is removed.

    Would Water/Methanol injection help with the high exhaust gas temps ? - You mentioned that high exhaust gas temps were a limiting factor in the previous video - another great video - keep em coming !

    Hello Darkside. I'm having an issue with my 2014 GTD. The coolant is being pushed out of the expansion tank. Have you got any advice or knowledge on the subject?

      Try a proper bleed with VCDS, if not you have head lift and it needs rebuilding!

      @@DarksideDevelopments i was hoping this wouldn't be the case lol. Would I be OK to replace the head gasket and check for warping in the block and head. Is there any upgrade parts or preventative maintenance part you would recommend in this job other than 12.9 head bolts.

      @@DowlingColm You could try just bolts first but its pointless fitting a head you have not skimming IMO, its a ton of work. we do the 12.9 bolts but the last one we did pulled the threads out of the block!!

      @@DarksideDevelopments Have you had engines where just changing the bolts out had rectified the problem. I'm afraid that it'll just return with a vengeance if I don't go and replace the gasket

      @@DowlingColm We fit the bolts before carrying out work as prevention is much cheaper than the cure. If you can do the work yourself its worth trying for the cost of the head bolts

      Remapped Manual Golf Rs are notorious for slipping and frying clutches once they get above stage 2 (400ish). DSG esp Later 7spd is better proposition in petrol. Can only imagine that extra diesel torque will stress rest of drivetrain. Presume clutch was beefed up in this build.

      @@Jay-zs6zbI know, but sintered clutches are less smooth. less progressive in action, and although might slip less than OEM, they also las less time/
      I had a 330cd with tuning box that ate clutches and diffs/
      All aim syaing is that DSG is better for maps

    I read that these are CUNA engine. I have vrs tdi Cupa engine. What is different? I thought VAG put the same engine in all of them... Gtd, vrs, fr...? And what was the full cost of all these goodies? Mine is making 220hp and 511nm and is awesome... And also, what could we do to get those high oil temp down? Is it because of the exhaust temps transferring the heat around? Anyway good job guys!! Really impressed with how in to details you can go, like knowing all the parts measurements and everything! Amazing! Good job!

      We are working on an oil cooler now. Its just a hot running engine for efficiency. CUPA is very similar, some emissions differences but nothing to affect what is spoken about in the video

    id be interested in doing this but with the smaller turbo those figures for the 2260? low down were pretty impressive. now you know what you are doing would it be a bit cheaper to get the work done?

    Do you use the recommended 5w30 oil still or do you go for something slightly thicker to give it more protection?
    I use 5w40 Quantum in my standard 2017 GTD

      I have a gtd 7.5 2018 facelift and the recommended oil is longlife 0w30, its thiner than the 5w30 so what do yall suggest to me?

      I have stage 1 230hp, stage 2 for dsg. The dsg tune is what shocked me the most tbh. Its so much better. Pulling from 100-150km is just big difference

      Never seen them as low as 210-215 crank hp, and have been owner of 2 184hp engines. First just after protocol release in 2014, and now a Leon mk 3.5. No problem what so ever getting 225hp an above. They do that well, that even with stock hardware, you will see rail drain issues.

    Hey mate just wondering if you changed the clutch? I’m getting a GTD manual soon and going to map it straight away to stage 1, will the clutch hold out stock for stage 1?

      Stock clutch should be fine with a remap! We've had plenty in that have run well with it!

    What engine code is it? And what is the power limit the stock block and pistons will handle?

      This was CUNA engine, the stock block and pistons are rated higher than we achieved but if anything like the MK6 common rails good for well over 300bhp

      @@ryanp6138 definitely you'r right, but what if someone will decide to fit a head from bi-turbo 240ps (CUAA) with all intake/exhaust parts to this block? It goes from 240 to 300ps/600Nm on stage1 software, could be more

    Great video! One question though, how do you deal with the new DPF rules? Isn't it illegal to remove or tamper with it in any way. Can the gtd still be tuned to this level, whilst still retaining the useless DPF?

      Short answer, no. The kit won't fit with the DPF in place and the filter its self will cause a restriction. This is always done the customers digression. We always say it is the customers responsibility to ensure they comply with rules and laws relating to their home country too.

      Well, the R got the 4Motion All wheel drive from VW. It's pretty good at not struggling with traction

      jimfastlane28 yeah you using potenzas? You need Michelin’s or Goodyear eagle f1 asymmetric 3 they change the way the car drives! Got rid of my Bridgestones on front!

    Is there a way to Disable ESC fully on a 2012 Volkswagen Passat 4Motion 2.0tdi? I havent been able to find any1 who could do that, it has something to do with Trw Abs pump.

      Its likely you would have to interrupt a sensor like the accelerometer so the ABS still works

      @@aqib2000 I wouldn't do the angle sensor as the ABS won't work correctly, ESP will only stop if you do accelerometer or something else esp related.

      @@ryanp6138 so i have a 2012 seat leon fr . Standard 170bhp cr engine. Now with a map running 227bhp. Its also more economical as you mentioned with the map. Now break down the cost to get more power past stage 1 ??? Bigger turbo, downpipes, exhaust, cooling etc !! Darkside do a kit but like your talking 2 k easy. Too expensive pal
