Planetary Governors have commanded Imperial forces, including Space Marines and Titans, on their world due to how much autonomy members of the Imperium actually have. Oh the irony of this coming out today. I just started rewatching your 40k Explained and Lore videos this week, Arch, to help me refresh and prep for a 40k Tabletop game my friends and I started up (Dark Heresy for those who were curious). Rewatched the Black Ships Monday and then the Necron video last night, and your stuff is so witty, brilliant, and best of all faithful to the franchise.

Just look at MS13, ISIS, the CCP, and the God forsaken Democrat party in the US along with a myriad of other groups, organizations, and even companies that have gotten into the arena to force products on us and kill off their competition.
The old sayings & ancient wisdom such as _Si Vis Pacem, Para Bellum_ are warnings of what it costs if you do not remain vigilant against what is basically evil.
To those who say that nothing is worth fighting for I say you can end it this very moment. All you have to do is kneel.

We had 10,000 years of story to explore without worrying about advancing the plot with some nonsense. I had never seen that in anything else. Everyone always wants their favorite story to continue on, inevitably killing it with power creep or poorly thought out plots.
I miss that golden age, when it felt like you had forever to discover an infinitely deep lore. Now we have what everyone else has. A story rushing out plot points faster than the IP holders can think. Not that GW cares. Which is the other tragedy.
