  • We are delighted to announce the successful completion of the first orbital atherectomy procedure at Narayana Hrudayala, Bengaluru, by our team at Innvolution Healthcare.
    Procedure Summary:
The left anterior descending artery (LAD) exhibited significant calcification, forming a 360-degree arch extending deeply into the intima to the mid portion of the LAD. Additionally, the proximal LAD presented fibrofatty plaque with critical narrowing, featuring a minimal luminal area (MLA) of 1.25mm^2. The lesion was traversed using a viper wire, followed by orbital atherectomy comprising six runs at low speed (80K). Post-atherectomy, the lesion was dilated with a 2.75*15 mm NC balloon at 12atms. Subsequent optical coherence tomography (OCT) imaging revealed cracks in the calcium along with commendable luminal expansion. A 3.5*15 mm stent was deployed, resulting in an OCT run displaying a minimum stent area (MSA) of 7.66 mm^2, showcasing excellent stent expansion and well-apposed stent struts with no evidence of edge dissection.
We extend our gratitude to Dr. Suraj Narasimhan, the cardiologist, for his expertise and leadership in this procedure.
