    Dave you're doing a wonderful job with these test drives.....we need people to experience these cars and make our environment clean

    • @taythree5549
      @taythree5549 Před 2 lety +2

      Never mind the clean environment.
      Though that is a GREAT thing people will buy these because gas costs more and prices fluctuate massively in comparison to the pennies per charge an E car takes. All hail charging a car like every other modern device now a days.
      Also people like new shiny things so let's convince them all their old cars are older and less shiny to convince them to swap 😉

    • @ElusiveTy
      @ElusiveTy Před 2 lety

      @@taythree5549 Pretty much this. Most people are convinced by money incentives, which is also why it can be hard to convince people to go into EVs as they cost a lot more *up front* but once factoring in running costs, so long as they aren't getting rid of it any time soon, they'll be saving heaps of money.
      Also, going the tailpipe emissions route is likely more successful than overall environmental concerns. Tailpipe emissions have been shown to affect our brains, specifically child development. It's literally killing us slowly, every single day we're exposed to them, which for anyone living anywhere in and around a city, is every day.

      @@ElusiveTy True enough, the upfront cost for an EV that is worth while is super high in comparison to modern gas cars. If you want Tesla quality that is. But nowadays you can get a used Nissan leaf for a good 5000$ some places which is might I say. Super affordable and more than a great way to at least get started. But I do agree getting people into the mindset to buy a used car is not easy now a days either so the upfront cost definitely has to come down. Luckily it will as technology improves but we are in an intermittent time where the tech is on par with gas more or less but two to three times the price so people just continue to wait because they can't really afford to save up to get one whether due to impatience and wanting that PS5 and 200 games more over time or just reservations about them being as good as what they know. Both unfortunate circumstances to be certain and I can't wait for the next few years to see prices drop over time and more people get their hands on an E vehicle to see how great never having to even stop at a gas station let alone look at one is because you can charge free from the park next door if need be and in a pinch or just never again if you never drive too far away from home because your always at 100% battery.

    Another successful screen test, with a great Tesla smile. You’re a lucky fellow, Dave, the average age of the women drivers seems to be about 30 years younger than the men! Having watched many of your videos before I picked up my Model3 (in the UK) I learned to trust the car from the first day.

    Marie was quite subdued, but I bet she will tell all her friends how great it was. My Model Y will not show up till April, but I have test-driven a performance Y. For me, it was two things: instant torque, and how quiet it was.
    The one negative, which is not the car's fault, was the performance tire noise...the rest of the car was so quiet, the tire noise stood out.
    I will get the highest profile tires I can get on my car, and, perhaps, add more sound dampening pads around the wheel wells (same thing I did to my Impala).

      Everything you said is true. Additionally, once you get used to one pedal driving, you won't want to go back. Get a 220V charger. If you aren't sure what to do, get an electrician to run a NEMA 14-50 plug, and either get a 40amp EVSE on amazon with a NEMA 14-50 plug, or get one from Tesla. Charging at home is great.

    I’m curious how the on screen image of the car appears in Autopilot, not asking about the FSD screen image. Is it possible to drive the car in Autopilot when the screen is showing the 3/4 view you see when the car is parked? I understand the car image appears in the “driving down the road view” in Autopilot normally.

    Question, with the regenerative breaking, when you take your foot off the gas pedal and the regenerative braking kick in, does the brake light come on? I’m always constantly gauging drivers around me and I worry with one pedal driving, that people that aren’t paying attention might miss how close they are approaching from the rear as they might not be aware the Tesla slowing down.

    • @dennislyon5412
      @dennislyon5412 Před 2 lety +1

      Hi James - once you’re slowing down beyond a predetermined rate (similar to coasting in a gas powered car), the brake lights will turn on. Regenerative braking on this car is similar to a pretty good press on the brake pedal, much more reactive than just coasting.

    • @evdave528

      @@edwardmascari4661 we are a single car family and charge off of a 120V outlet. It is good enough 99% of the time. Very rarely do we ever need to charge publicly.
