The ending with Seagal tossing the sword to behead a guy out a window was hilarious. It could only be better if Seagal did it sitting down in a comfortable chair.
I'm seriously more shocked by the fact that he wasn't sitting down than by the scene itself.
I swear to god, there was a period in Seagal's filmography where every single movie had a scene in it where a representative of a particular non-white culture or people walks up to Seagal and goes "you truly are an expert in our culture and way of life, moreso than most people even within our culture" in an obvious ego-stroking moment for Seagal.
He lived in Japan for a few years and let it go to his head.
The best is this scene from "Today You Die", wherein he is introduced to the head of an inner city gang. The gang leader sizes him up, then says: "Walks like a black man, breathes like a killer." Yeah guess who wrote that? Can you even imagine what it's like to have an ego like that? You know on the inside he's so fragile, it's why he needs the constant stroking
The most insane part of these movies, the part that sets them apart from Neil Breen movies, is that Breen makes superhero movies, sort of, and gives himself superpowers, while Segal actually expects you to believe that he's as skilled as the one character be plays in all of his movies.
Yup! Somehow these Segal movies remind me of a shitty Breen movie. Ugh!
20:37 This scene straight up feels like the old parody skits Will Sasso used to do about Seagal on Mad TV. It’s just a calm serious scene until he shouts “Ninjas!” And is suddenly attacked.
These two have the best chemistry in the world. You can tell they were friends in childhood (or at least in earlier adulthood). Kyle is the one who has actually been to film school, unlike the scores of people who just imagine that they have. Bryan is the one who is losing his mind over the low quality of the film he has just seen because, despite having done over 160 episodes of the show, he has never seen a really bad movie before and has no resistance to them at all.

We met in our mid 20s at work, and we both went to the same university and graduated from the same film program a couple years apart.
I've been watching this channel for years now and I've never seen them respond to a comment (maybe once). You lucky so-and-so! It's a new day! Of course, they would never respond to my comments anyway because they're always snarky and goofy. :D (but I mean well)
They watched After Last Season my dude, that's about as bad as it gets. Bryan has definitely seen truly bad movies lol.

Woke up in a bad mood. Saw that GBBB did another Segal film. Mood improved.
His wife in this movie is Kata Dobó, a hungarian actress, who tried herself in Hollywood in these years (but it was not succesful, she is in a CSI episode and this and other little roles. She is much more talented and I am glad she came home and got some better roles) it is so sad to see her in this movie.
The "werewolf" guys head scratching and some of the movements are from monkey kung fu.
I was about to mention monkey kung fu! Glad someone else was thinking it! That's also probably why he can run on walls.

Not only is "Out For A Kill" a title that sounds like a 007 knock off, the whole "dig two graves before setting out for revenge" thing is also quoted in the 1981 Bond movie "For Your Eyes Only". And yes. Roger Moore did it WAY better. Roger never mumbled.

Absolutely. And as someone that has a Ph.D. in Chinese archaeology, yeah, no, you can't get this degree *from prison* without any field work. Maybe as an art historian, not as an archaeologist. But since it's for Seagal's ego, archaeologist is way cooler sounding.

Yet another Seagal gem!! Thanks for the amazing content as always, guys!! I know y’all probably got a movie list as big as Seagal’s ego, but you may wanna check out Santa’s Slay (2005), it’s not Dean-cember but it has Bill Goldberg of WWE game as evil Santa, so I think that’s worth something. Another suggestion would be Gooby (2009) - the whole movie genuinely reminds me of Mac and Me, plus it has Robbie Coltrane (RIP) and a kid who hallucinates aliens, so, that’s something!

The correspondence Ph.D. in prison in Archaeology is definitely NOT a thing, as someone who has never been to prison and doesn't even have a Bachelor's but is a major academics geek. You can earn a G.E.D in most prisons and get an Associate's or take community college classes in a few (my CC is right outside of San Quentin and some of the professors at my CC teach classes there). But you can't get anything above that AFAIK (edit: I did a little research and some online campuses offer a Master's), certainly not a Ph.D (which would involve you doing fucking original research, how the fuck would you do that in prison?!) There have been people going into prison thinking they would get their J.D. or something only to be majorly disappointed. There are plenty of re-entry programs universities offer for the formerly incarcerated, but not IN prison.

About the missing texts: I have already seen movies on TV with the same kind of problem. Not low budgets films (one was Unforgiven with Clint Eastwood, and the other was Drop Dead Gorgeous with Kirsten Dunst and Denise Richards), and on prime time, national TV. I suppose that movies are first edited without texts, and then you add the texts in different languages depending on the country. Sometimes, mistakes happen and the wrong versions are broadcast or sold. (That was particularly irritating for Unforgiven and Drop Dead Gorgeous, and totally ruined the respective endings (-_-')
Why is it that whenever I see Steven Seagal with that terrible hairstyle I immediately think of John Travolta when he had that same haircut. Particularly in Face/Off (which you guys HAVE to do! It's such a classic!)

So I have watched the first 30 seconds and I know the following: Steven Seagal plays an archeologist. I've not seen this film or watched any reviews. OK, so I'm predicting the following: (I will donate $5 to charity for every prediction I get wrong)
-Seagal won't just be an archeologist, but he'll be THE BEST archaeologist with the Nobel prize in archeology, and all the other archeologists are in awe of him (edit: nailed it!)
-archeology will be important for about 10 minutes of the movie, after a big action fight sequence archeology is never mentioned again (edit: nailed it!)
-after that time we will also find out that Seagal was a Navy Seal Ranger Alpha special forces commander before studying archeology (I didn't get this, I read the wikipedia post and it says that before becoming an archeologist he was a bad-ass thief, so I pay up)
-another younger actor will do the vast majority of the fighting while Seagal hangs out at a strip club (edit: there's a strip club, and another character does a lot of fighting, but this is a pay out)
-that same actor will, however, be humbled and pay homage to the great Steven Seagal at the end of the movie, because he's the best (nailed it)
-Seagal will have sex with a much much younger woman at some point near the end of the movie, even though there has been no romantic interaction and chemistry, and it's not really required for the storyline (nailed it again)

The green screen work for the flight scenes reminded me of old movies with military officials looking at nothing through binocs and filmed from waist or knees at an upward angle to avoid needing to use any set or location.

Same! I hate to say anything but yeah, especially when he goes way out on a limb and spends too much time on something he's wrong about. But all in all I love those guys and I think the show is great.

To be honest, Under Siege is Steven Seagal's masterpiece, and even then, it's merely just the third-or-so best Die Hard on an X movie.

I think I gave up on Seagal after Fire Down Below. Some of his earlier films I do have a soft spot for like Above the Law, Out of Justice (his best film imo thanks to William Forsythe fantastic villain) and Marked for Death. Also Under Siege is great thanks to the supporting cast with Tommy Lee Jones and Gary Busey villians, Elena Eleniak boobs (also the first sign of Seagal casting youg actresses for his character to get with it) and Andrew Davis who went on to do the classic The Fugitive the year after Under Siege delivering some brutal action.
Once the gut grew, he started to talk like a rapper and he got lazier. The films got worse.
