      As crazy as it sounds, even though cityfibre have been live in my street now for a while, you can only choose talk talk or Vfast😩
      Keep checking and have asked for information about why it's taking so long for other ISPs to be available on their network, but never get a proper answer.

    Hey pal, thanks for the video, I’m just had 550mb installed and it’s working well with the supplied router and was a generally okay experience (other than the installers drilling through a central heating pipe). I wanted to ask if you had switched to a third party router yet and if it made difference for you. I have a tp-link Archer AC2800 which made my Plusnet great, but not sure whether to make the switch to this or to sell it.

      @@EK1Gaming oh nice one, that’s great. I suppose I’m just being tight and looking to get more use out of my Tp-link, it’s supposed to be good for 5ghz speeds up to 2.8Gbps and made a dramatic difference to my plusnet Adsl fibre. I think I see how the Vodafone one gets on then and keep hold it it. Cheers for the quick reply mate 👍🏻

    The added performance of a gaming router will depend on the speed of the Ethernet ports on the Fiber Modem (Optical Terminaltion Point). At best most of them support 1GBPS max. So if you are getting those speeds, then its no point, unless of course if your Vodafone router does not have WiFi 6/ Gigabit WiFi.

    • @EK1Gaming
      @EK1Gaming  Před 3 lety +3

      It’s also to do with the ping heat map, selecting certain ping restrictions, true speed test results and the software that comes with the routers.

As I am on virgin media and they don’t seem to be any good, always on high packet loss and on constant ping spikes while on Ethernet. I'm here right now as we're upgrading to gigavast vodaphone at the end of the month. So I just want to know if its legit... is there a fiber cable directly into the house? Will I need I higher tier ethernet cable? And is the guarentee'd minimum DL speed 455 like they claim.

    For the last couple of years “fibre to the premises” has existed, and is available at wholesale for BT/EE/Plusnet and Vodafone. A large amount of fibre into the street-poles was rolled out during the pandemic lockdown, while construction was designated “essential”

      @@wakaflockaproject so a normal speed test for Mr now I ping on average 4, but I've seen it as low as 2 (maybe even one). To UK game servers I'm now pinging on average about 12 and that's London based (I'm yorkshire) where as vm was around high teens. De and no serves I'm pinging around 18-22 ish so over a 10ms ping drop vs vm. My speed test speeds so gar have always been give or take 1 or 2 940/940.
