Awesome boat/project. I have the 2005 185 VS. Enjoying the process. It's going to be beautiful. As far as trolling motors...I have the Minn Kota 65 lb thrust 24 v on mine and it's plenty powerful enough. Couple it with a few Interstate batteries (I'm in my seventh season with mine - also have an Interstate starting battery) and you'll be pleased with the performance. Don't forget to get the old fuel out of the tank. Good luck and I hope all goes well with the restoration.
