the planetina episode is one of my favorites, the A plot manages to be funny and weird while also being oddly realistic in a way and really grounds morty's as a character even more

Me too, people hate it because (from what I have seen) said it was confusing or just like the parasite episode but with decoys
I think it's my favorite one. Never got confused tbh. It just felt like my previous favorite episode (the memory parasites one) but more cinematic with an even better sci fi premise that fit the show better.

I think the first two missed, but Air Force Wong was great, and That's Amorte is definitely good. But I don't really like ep 2, moreso than I dislike ep 1.
During the decoy episode, he was confusing "highlander" with "braveheart"

I really do wonder about this Western narrative of "horrible teenagers." I never had a rebellious phase, but I did have a phase my parents *perceived* as rebellious because they didn't seem to be able to wrap their heads around me growing up and considered it rebellious when I did things that were healthy and normal for my age. I've got to wonder how much of the narrative of the rebellious teenager is really a narrative of adults not handling it well when children become old enough to be genuinely independent.

These first three episodes were so good, but the season kinda falls off during some of them. In my book there's 5 FANTASTIC and unbelievable episodes, and 5 episodes that are either forgettable, or simply terrible.
