- We have wanted to do this for ages and decided on a whim that we would do it the day after making it a plan. I’ve heard lots of good things about snowdon but you have to do it to really understand! This is for sure on the cards to be done again i loved every minute of it! Unfortunately ben had some bad luck with his hub! Has anyone seen this happen before? Anyways cheers for watching 🤘

Well impressed with that sweet trick to fix the wheel alignment. Will’ve taken the pressure off the crack a bit too. Genius lads! 😊
Quick hack for Schwalbe tires: mount the tire such that the line on them is closer to the side with the break disc, and it will be always the right way round ;-)!
My pro4 did exactly the same a couple of months ago!! Hope gave me a pro5 under warranty

I've always fancied riding Snowden, definitely looks worth the effort.
I was gutted for Ben, although glad he managed to ride down, without incident!
You aren't on your own Ben, I've also managed to split two Hope hubs in the past.
And I'm only 5' 11" tall and weigh about 145 lbs, so it's not Ben!
It all starts with fatigue cracks at the spoke holes, and the cracks creep over time,
til it just opens up.
It probably started to fail some time ago.

Wow I feel so sorry for Ben it’s probably one in 1 million. chance that Hubs break like that and big respect to Tommy’s 2 months of the bike and goes up Snowden definitely feeling that in the morning haven’t been up Snowden in for years last time I went I had to carry my friend’s Trek session as I didn’t have my glory then the pain carrying it up was worth it on the way down that’s for sure DH Bikes are so much fun Hurtling down Snowden definitely not taking my glory up they’re old-school DH bike heavy as hell no thanks lol

Did that to a Hope 2 hub on my Orange 5 once as well. Same thing climbing hard in the granny ring. Too much torque I guess 💪 😂

Saw a video years back of a guy doing it on an a MK1 Blue Pig HT. He was flying down! Maybe come back with eeebs and camp out there overnight with a bivvy to make an extra special adventure? Backpack loaded up with Gregs.

I did the exact same route you did last year, such a great ride. came to see if you rode the whole descent - did you need to walk the section at 16.53? it gets properly gnarly
We did it a couple of years ago on Ebikes that just confirmed we made the right decision 😅

How long did it take to get up. I’ve walked it and it was ruddy awful on foot, especially that steep bit past the midway train station. And how long to get down?
It took us 1hr45 to get up and around 40minutes to get back into the town 👍👍
