The History of Hindu India (Part Three) was developed by the editors of Hinduism Today magazine in collaboration with Dr. Shiva Bajpai, Professor Emeritus of History, California State University Northridge. It is intended to provide an authentic presentation of the history of India and Hinduism for use in American middle and high school classes, as well as Hindu temple study groups and general presentations on the Hindu religion and history.
This documentary is based on the third chapter of the textbook, "The History of Hindu India," published in 2011. It covers Indian history from 1100 to 1850 ce, from the Arab Muslim invasions to British rule, a time of great difficulty for the Indian people. These extensive foreign invasions are recounted, including the plunder of the great Siva temple at Somnath, and the establishment of the Mughal Empire by the 16th century in most of India, its subsequent decline by the mid-18th century and the gradual control of India by the British. The documentary provides an account of the saints of the powerful Bhakti Movement, including Ramananda and Kabir. One section is devoted to an overview of the Sikh religion, from its founding in the 16th century by Guru Nanak to formation of the Khalsa by Guru Gobind Singh in the 18th century. This is followed by a brief introduction to Indian music and its basic concepts of tala (rhythm), raga (scale) and improvisation.
For more information and for class lesson plans based on the book, visit www.hinduismtoday.com/education/. This documentary is directed and produced by Sushma Khadepaun; produced and narrated by Roger (Raj) Narayan. Funded by the Uberoi Foundation, Institute for Curriculum Advancement, this film may be freely distributed for educational purposes.

      Thanks brother,
Some powers are still trying to divide the Indians on the basis or language. They are spreading hate between North and South India.
But we should learn from the history; Together we can achieve the true heights we actually deserve.
Language is just a way to communicate.
      India will always be united.
      Love to every Indian

Very informative indeed. But lacks a major history of the north East India.
While many do know about Shivaji and Rana Pratap, there was one ruling dynasty that gave nightmares to the Mughals, the Ahoms of Assam. Ahom dynasty successfully ruled the north East India for a period of 600 years(1228-1826). 'Lachit Borphukan Award' is given to the best cadet of NDA(National Defence Academy) in honour of the great Ahom General Lachit Borphukan who defeated the mughals number of times. Please include the history of this great dynasty without which the History of India remains incomplete. Thanks

And like always here also you have excluded the great Ahom kingdom who successfully restricted the Mughals and ruled continuously for around 600 years in Northeastern India!!

it’s not there fault, all kingdoms like, maratha, chola, karkota, gupta, ahom, rajput are ignored, you’d ask why? congress tried to delete the history of wrong done by muslims in india, so that communal harmony remain in india, so they portrayed mughal as a good guys, where’s other kingdom as sidekicks, but people are becoming more aware daily, so in future you’ll see ahom kingdom in school books, don’t worry

Amazing work! This video series must be preserved for the sake of future generations to know and understand the truth about our history! And by the way, couldn't find the 4th part. Is it in queue?

Danke

Indian history is being explained in American accent...wow. Indian history is much ahead of any regional history. Vikram samvat is about 100 years ahead of Gregorian calendar, mathematically. So the right documentation of now Bharat n Hindus emerged is not traced by anyone yet.
