1985 Daihatsu Rugger F75 Turbo Diesel 4x4 in the USA - POV Walk Around and Long Drive

  • This is my 1985 Daihatsu Rugger. This is a long wheelbase turbo diesel powered version of the Rocky that was sold here in the US. Known as the Fourtrack in the United Kingdom, Rugger in Japan, Rocky in the rest of Europe and Taft in Indonesia. I walk around, show what it's like, poke and prod it in detail and then take it on a long drive and talk about what it's like to live with one of these in the United States.

    What distinguishes the Daihatsu Rocky and its brothers most is that they have a distinctive and different shape from everyone and you notice this when you see this vehicle running in the line. You will notice that it is like the sun in the middle of the galaxy of planets. I have one and I always admire my car when I see it in the parking lot. Really looks prestige
    Also, I always noticed that people looked at her in amazement
    It is true that these vehicles have stopped, but they have already proven themselves and are still prestige until now

    The best review video of the Rugger / Fourtrak (I’m from the UK!) on the internet. Thanks a lot for this.

    this car is the one of legends car in Indonesia, there are lots of aftermarket parts, but many of Indonesian owner like to aplicate JDM aftermarket part/ used parts to his car from other country (like rugger, fourtrak, even toyota blizard) instead. Example parts are like mirror, rims, turbo kit, steer and other components that in Indonesia are not available :)

    • @KakerMix
      @KakerMix  Před 5 lety

      There was! It was a 1983 Hijet. It ended up being sold to a person in the state of Massachusetts here in the USA where I'm sure it's well loved and being looked after in a climate-controlled garage. The transport he sent to pick it up had a Ferrari California in it as well.!

    thanks for the video. I was wondering, what fuel mileage you get with the diesel? The US Rocky has independent front suspension. It would be great and helpful, if you could provide a link to your parts source. thank you

  • @jordydereus
    @jordydereus Před 6 lety +3

    fuel drain is for the diesel filter. has a sensor for the water.

      You're right, I had a look at the U.K. Fourtrak manual which explained it. Next oil change I'll be switching out the fuel filter.

    Looking into getting an 84. I caught your mention of some places to find parts. Are you able to list some favorite sources? I think Ted'x 4x4 was one that you mentioned but I am having trouble finding that site online. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

      @KakerMix  Před 5 lety +1

      Hey Jack, apologies on not responding. I've actually since sold this Rugger so haven't been needing parts at all. I do, however, have a 1993 Rugger on the way and will be re-joining the Daihatsu club.
      As is said though, your English sources are going to be in England but the majority of your parts and specialists will be in Indonesia.
