✅ Hot Melt chain wax is known for its low friction and long-lasting properties. It can help to improve your bike's performance and extend the life of your chain.
✅ To apply Hot Melt chain wax, you will need a wax pot, a chain cleaning tool, and some rags. You will also need to wear gloves and eye protection.
✅ The first step is to clean your chain thoroughly. You can do this with a chain cleaning tool or by scrubbing it with a degreaser.

When I re-wax my chain I first put the chain in boiling water to melt the old wax off then rinse it with IPA to get the water off before putting it into the clean wax.
Thanks, great video. I use a similar process (Silca products). I rotate between two chains. I will wax both, then with chain #1 on the bike, I will do the drip wax 2 or 3 times before I swap to chain #2. The only exception is if I happen to ride when it is particularly wet or muddy/dirty and then I will immediately swap the chains and give the old chain a good deep cleaning before a re-wax.

Just hot waxed my 11speed chain with silca, degreased 3x with Zep citrus and some Dawn dish soap, then mineral spirits (stripped a lot of black crud from the Muc off lube) then isopropyl alcohol to finish it off, waxed adhered pretty nicely.

I don't have an ultrasonic cleaner but I use a rock tumbler to clean chain with degreaser and alcohol. Just an affordable option idea.

I think the benefit of the ultra sonic is the cavitation of the bubbles will get into the pins and rollers and clean them out
@@_Zane__@_Zane__ Yep, between the micro explosions of bubbles and the heat of 50 degrees Celsius, parts get super clean.
At the beginning of every season I would get a new Sachs chain. I would de-grease it and wash it in water with detergent, then rinse in water. I would place the chain in a low temp oven, around 130 deg F. It would dry very quickly. then I would emerge the chain in a bath of Krytech wax lube. I would leave it there until most of the light ends evaporated. Then I would hang it up to fully dry and wipe off and install. Never had an issue.
