That lil piece that “fell off” goes where that bar that is bent. When you pull the handle of the jack to lift up that lil piece can cause to bend the metal bar if you don’t pull it out. Same thing happened to my Daytona that’s why you gotta be careful when unboxing and testing at first so to clarify it’s not a defect you were supposed to take off that plastic piece before you start pumping the jack.
Good to know. I had no clue
@@aguywithajeep It is in the owners manual.
CAUTION! The Handle Socket will be held down by a plastic block under tension. Wear ANSI-approved safety goggles before freeing Handle Socket. Hold Handle Socket down while removing block. After removal, carefully swing Handle Socket up until tension is released
@@cvpiDOTnet yep, that’s what I get for throwing the instructions away
@@aguywithajeep You can see it in your video at the 53 second mark......for shipping to keep the handle down. And it is exactly where your bend is HAHA
@@hotrodfanatic1 yep, complete user error. Still works great though so I just consider it broken in
So I don’t have to wake up my neighbors anymore dragging the other jack 😂😂😂😂
3:35 The bar is bent because you failed to take that plastic part off before use. It was there for support during delivery. Those who failed to remove the plastic part have bent that bar a lot.
The block holds the handle down for shipping. Remove it before use so u don't bend the bar that you bent.
Lol
Great review. I noticed the jack jumping around in the sand because you placed the jack in a spot that was not precisely flat initially. Other than that, this review has me convinced to possibly purchase one.
Short answer, that plastic piece if for shipping reasons to hold the lift base down and should have been removed. You damage it not taking it off.
That little piece is a shipping block to keep the handle locked for transport. The instructions direct you in removing that block…before operation.
I picked one up last weekend and after installing the wheels, the 4 corners are all not on the ground and had a wobble. I guess probably a rod or two is bent. I’ll be taking it back this weekend.
I was planing on buying one and doing reserch and feed back, what to do think of the plastic wheels ? cold day,, drop it on cement ?
They’re beefy. Same wheels that pro-eagle uses so I imagine they will hold up
Sure would have liked seeing you max out the height as I carry a traditional jack and actual use it on non paved surfaces. I’m thinking about the pro eagle jack
Nice Jack for sure but I’d rather have that for garage use because of the wheels and it’s easy to move around. Bottle jacks are hard to beat when off-road and for deep sand or mud I use a base plate under the bottle jack. That off-road jack will look bad ass if you come up with a way to mount it on your Jeep flat bed.
I’ve used solely a bottle jack off-road for years and it’s a great option for sure. Maybe I should do a video discussing used for each type of jack. I definitely will be mounting it on the flatbed though if I decide to take it anywhere
They literally sell mounts for the jack. Don't know why you couldn't look that up yourself.
you didn't pull the safety plastic piece before using it and you bent the rod🤣
Safety third
Hey Dude,
You are the one who put the jack in your truck !
If you don't want it to roll around, build a cradle to hold it in place.
Otherwise, thanks for the test demo.
Something I still have not heard mentioned in any video where this jack has been used is what it is made of.
I have a 1 1/2 ton and a 3 ton which are aluminum from Harbor freight.
I really like them.
The aluminum makes so much difference using them off road.
I have several heavy steel shop jacks that I no longer take off road because they are so heavy.
I suspect those wheels are going to fail eventually, so I am checking sources for Aluminum billet disc to make replacements.
I will not be surprised to hear that the axles have bent under load, so I am checking into hardened steel rods as well.
The door thing was a joke, No I don't expect harbor freight to so anything about that lol. as for the jack, it is fully aluminum like their other jacks. still comes in around 80lbs. I've used it a number of times since posting and it has been solid every time.
I'm amazed that those wheels hold up.
Nice review! However I fell like those tires are more for being able to haul off-road than it is to prevent the jack or tires to sink in the ground.. I usually carry around a small piece or two of ply wood in the back of my truck for that purpose. Beats buying a skidplate or baseplate for the jack.
The entire bottom of the jack is one skid plate so even if the wheels do sink down the bottom would support the jack. So far it’s done a great job
Your flatbed Jeep is pretty sharp. First time to watch your videos and really enjoyed your humor.
Thanks for watching man 🍻
It roll over a zip tie?
In cold freezing weather plastic gets very brittle and yes, there have been days where I've been using a jack on a frozen gravel driveway before.
Why would you make plastic wheels for this jack and not steel wheels?
If I had to guess it would be a weight issue. And also I really doubt the wheels will be the issue on this long term
Hope they make a smaller 1.5 or 2 ton one
How would that jack do on a gravel driveway?
It would do great for sure
Great Video..to the point 👌🏼
Nice review.
I wish it was a littler smaller so it's easier to store in a Jeep Wrangler. Maybe custom make a mount with lock to place outside the rear of the Jeep somewhere.
And maybe if Badland would make some accessories for the jack for different areas of the off road vehicles.
There are a few companies making some mounts for it. I need to pick one up.
I need this!💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
Should be an excellent alternative to the overpriced Pro Eagle. Would have been nice if HF also included a saddle attachment to go along with the flat extension (that's one thing I'd make if go this route). Debating between this and a bottle jack kit from Safe Jack. Safe Jack would be a lot easier to stow and wouldn't need me to fabricate a mounting plate. I'll probably end up flipping a coin.
I’ve seen a few mounts that are popping up. I’ll try and get my hands on one for an update video
I’m currently going through the same thought process. Safe Jack rescue kit vs this. The main reason I like this is it would work on regular cars where a bottle Jack will be too tall
Good job, love my new jack too, at 4:31 couldent look away in time and well.. undies match your ford.
Is it aluminum? How about th e skid plate on bottom?
Yes it’s aluminum. Not positive on the skid being aluminum or steel though
Plano sportsman 108qt waterproof case is the perfect way to store it in the truck.
Now if I could get my hands on one. They're gone as soon as a new shipment comes in to any of the 5 harbor freights in Indy
I know you can order them on their website but they are slim in stores for sure. I got my hands on 1 of only 2 delivered in Columbia SC
This is cool but I'm curious how it's better than a bottle jack
Not sure if it’s better, I’ve used a bottle
Jack forever, but probably more stable with the larger footprint.
Are the tires plastic? Kind of hard to tell.
Yes
I think the fact that it has "skid plates" on the bottom would help keep the jack from burying itself in soft ground.
I would not jack my truck up by the LCA mount.
I used my Daytona just fine on dirt
Do you think the wheels turn too easily? I’m just wondering how stable it’s going to be under a vehicle when it’s on concrete.
I’ve used it on a slightly slanted driveway with no issues
Once you start lifting and get weight on it there’s no way it’s goi ng to be an issue
If you have to pre order don’t waste your time. I have been waiting since before Christmas and was informed that it will mostly likely be late march before I get it.
Eh, I'm about to weld a plate to my daytona... check it out on the back of my jeep (hitch mount)
That thing came out the box SLAMMED 😂🤣
I almost made a comment about it 😂😂
As others said, that black piece was suppose to be removed, that’s what bent the bar lol. Anyways, pro eagles have poor build quality, poor customer service, wheel issues and are also made over seas. They’re not the TOP, they’re just the original and failed to deliver a quality product, especially considering their price.
I meant top of the market, in regards to price. But I’ve gotten to experience their customer service side personally this week and agree, they’re pretty terrible at it. 😂
yeah that's so weird he was able to jack with that black plastic piece on... with the daytonas it won't jack without removal
This thing is dangerous I almost crushed my hand today at work lifting up an RV slide out 3 inches and it rolled backwards slamming the slide out down this floor jack needs 2 lock pins on the rear wheels looks cool but I will no longer be using that same floor jack any time soon I'll be using our old floor jacks
For a moment I couldn't even see the plastic piece that I was suppose to remove before use. I read the directions and had no idea where it was. I was starring right at it. The problem is the jack is so cool looking that the plastic piece looks like it belongs there. I would suggest to the manufacturing company to make that piece PINK and insert remove "PINK plastic block" in their directions. It's a shame that this gentleman bend his new jack already.
love it
that block thing at 3:42 is a wedge to hold the jack handle socket in place during transport. it is wegded between the jack handle socket and that bent bar. you probably bent that forcing the jack handle up to begin the jack with working. i only mention this, because i almlost did the same thing. i was able to get that out with a screw driver prior to using the jack. good video none the less.
Yes pretty good video plus the guy gave the reason for the bent bar in the comments...probably will get one for myself !!
i'm thinking i can just upgrade the wheels on my present 3 tonner
Normal jacks just don’t have the height benefit. Changing the wheels helps it roll but that’s about it
@@aguywithajeep that's all i want is a smooth quiet roll, don't want the neighborhood hearing me wheeling my jack around
You should have removed the plastic piece before you used the jack.. That's why the bar is bent.
Are them tires on it plastic??🤔
Yep, heavy plastic. Same as the pro eagle
Cool!
I can go to work with my jack 😂
Papi chulo ‼️😍😍
I find that this jack is just their 3t aluminum race jack just modified
I'm calling junk Bud. That popping got me...
Not sure what popping you’re referring to but I’ve had zero issues with it since making this video. Abused the hell out of it. And I’m definitely not on their payroll, so if it was junk I’d be the first to say so.
I guess just buy the pro eagle mount for it 🤣
Probably going to build one. No way I’m spending as much for the mount as I did for the jack lol
1. Study, understand, and follow instructions before operating this device (it is stated right there on the label of the Jack Lever Base).
@:56 Cross-bar Rod was not bent at this time-marker and the Shipping Containment-Clip was still in place right in the box.
@2:24 You bent the Cross-bar Rod when you started the pumping action with the Jacking Lever Base; "before you removed the Shipping Containment-Clip."
@2:44 "Same as above."
@3:35 "Same as above."
This is a good video for Folks to view = "What not to do."
Harbor Freight could use this video as a positive outcome and as a tutorial video on their own website to acknowledge the requirement to follow instructions or the warranty is voided.
Yeah you really wrenched down on that to bend that bar that little plastic piece pissed me off when I was building mine.
Badland should have a hard case made for it so it doesn't roll in storage in the back of your Jeep or truck.
I just bought some mount brackets for it. Should be good to go now
Homie should’ve went a lot higher with it , can’t be scared your whole life
That plastic is for shipping lol
That thing looks BADDDD ASSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!
You started bending the bar at the 2:24 mark
yep, that's on me.
@aguywithajeep thanks for the review. I brought it because of your review so thanks.
+ that’s a hard packed road , not a soft trail
No you bent it because your supposed to remove that plastic shipping block before use.
I Guess you didn't read the destructions....
Dude, you're jacking that thing up at the frame mount for your lower control arm without strapping your control arm to prevent the wheel from dropping... of course it is jumping around, because of where you positioned the jack. Never jack any vehicle up at that point, that is, again, an operator error and not the equipment.
Yep, never blamed the jack for that, just mentioned that I needed to reposition it.
911 makes a mount for it
You bent that metal piece with the other plastic piece 😂 your supposed to take that out before u use it probably bent with the jeep
No way
It wasn't bent when you got it you have the evidence rewind the video
I dont understand how its a offroad jack ... fatm jack would be the best jack not this
Is it made in. CHINA....?
Yes, as is the next best competitor
300 bucks, no thanks
Worth every penny
