09 final, I felt like United were just a bit unlucky. However, after the 2011 final, it was the first time I questioned if Fergie "had IT" anymore. I'd never seen a side make a Fergie United team look that ordinary. Barca 10-11 is the greatest team I've ever watched.

I've been lucky enough to have lived in Spain when Messi, Barcelona and Ronaldo were at their best. Watching Messi play was like watching a ghost- he'd just appear out of nowhere.

Rome 2009 and Wembley 2011.Nothing was and will be more depressing for me than these two nights.I still do not have the courage to even look at the highlights till today.The way Iniesta & Xavi control the ball and possession beat United down morally and physically and Messi was the final nail to the coffin.

A short guy put header and score goal in UCL final. This is called magic. People call him magic man. magician.
Prime Messi: he dribbles towards you. He can go left, he can go right, he can turn back and go either left or right again. He can fully stop and then suddenly accelerate again. It's hard to take the ball from him because he has full control. Makes a lot of small touches to the ball and keeps it so close to his feet. He is an absolute dribble master that can dribble through any defence. Any team that would put 1, 2 or 3 defenders against him he'd have a great day. Teams had to park buses against him. He could give any pass, any through ball. A master of 1-2s. He could finish in many different ways. He didn't have any predictability in this game.
Then he even became even better when he started to take even more care of his body. I remember him having some weight issues and hired people to help him with it. He became more shredded and physical. He withstood tackles from the likes of Pepe and survived. He went through his whole career without serious injuries. Next to the physical aspect he also managed to improve himself with freekicks. He was an average freekick taker and became one of the best specialists. Even adding more weapons to his arsenal. He'd have seasons with 50 or 60 goals scored. If he had a season where he scored what a ''regular top striker'' would score, people would say it was a bad season. While he wasn't even a classic striker. He was a winger and a false 9. A playmaker and striker in 1.
Ronaldo is great. One of the best ever. In the realm of goals he's the second best ever and challenges Messi for the top spot. Overall, Messi exceeds him on all fronts.

Even before the world cup, he was the GOAT for me (I never watched Maradona and Pele so I can't say), because he has been an elite goalscorer AND playmaker/chance creator his whole career. To me, CR7 is the greatest striker/goal-scorer of all time, but he's not top 10 or even top 15 for the greatest playmakers/chance creators, and so he's not the best overall player for me. That's the way I've always seen it, and will always see it, regardless of the world cup win (which I think people place too much weight on imo). In terms of entertainment as well, I just simply enjoy watching Messi more than other players.
Most of us have watched his whole career and to think its going to be over really soon is sobering to be honest.
