It would be better if she skated to a different music 🎶 it’s too dark .

Does Dick Button even know his own opinion or is he just talking to expel air? I ask based on this pair of bizarre, back to back comments:
    "Good spin combination."
    5 seconds later...
"...and not a particularly outstanding spin."
I've seen her do that spin better but at this point in figure skating, before spins were worth many points, this would've been considered an outstanding spin. Even today it would be considered quite good. The first (forward) part of the spin had great speed and both Biellmann positions had great extension. Not so long ago a Biellmann spin was very rare to see, let alone a fast, well-positioned one. At this point (and until the implementation of the new scoring system) Irina was one of the very few top ladies skaters that could even do the Biellmann spin and the only one who could do it very well. Good spinners have become more common out of necessity but in the 1990's there were almost no good spinners and even fewer with inventive positions. I also find it telling that if you listen to commentary from Canada or England or any other place but the USA they more often than not mention Slutskaya's exceptional spinning ability. Slutskaya could be the fastest spinner in the world and land every jump ever invented and Button and Fleming would still find something negative to say.

Nice to see that her parents were shown in the video! And is that Irina's dog? Something that looked like a poodle. Irina is such a wonderful figure skater and she looked like a very sweet young woman.
