More of these 70s-80s "muscle tractors" need to be back in the fields working as paid off assets vs the bank owned age we are in now
Ain’t that the damn truth, now you buy a $250k machine and we aren’t allowed to work on them? Ridiculous JD !
You can’t appreciate how nice and easy these tractors are to operate until you use one. It’s like he says, “It’s your birthday everyday,” The 2255 will always be King!
She's a beauty.
Love Oliver equipment, the right shade of green. Thanks
A beautiful tractor. I grew up with Massey-Ferguson, and loved them; but, in 1984 while working as a Dairy Herd Inspector for Agriculture Canada I visited a dairy farm that had Oliver tractors, one was a big field tractor, the other a smaller tractor, 4-wheel drive with a loader on it. I was really impressed with them and at the time we didn't have any 4-wheel drive tractors on our farm, so I fell in love with that tractor.
Beautiful old Oliver
My grandfather worked for the Oliver Tractor Company, for as long as I can remember. He was a Regional Sales Executive in the Midwest and on the West Coast. It’s my understanding that he, helped establish the Fairfax Industrial District in Kansas City. Love those tractors. Miss those days.
This is one beautiful beast of a tractor... love the sound and no damn computer's!
Yes I could agree with feeling like a happy Birthday. Those big Oliver's are just a good looking tractor, and I'm a Minneapolis Moline guy.👍
Now that's a powerful tractor! Plenty of horsepower and that forward assist really puts that power to the ground! Great vid!
The man I worked for in the mid '70's had one. It was 4wd with a cab, we used it for picking corn in wet conditions, ran one of the first 3 row harvester I had seen and pulled about 22-24 ft of disc in the spring. I believe it is still around, sold about 5 years ago at a local sale. I hope someone is looking after it.
Gorgeous machine right there, I learned on Grandpa’s Oliver Super 88, good times.
Neighbor farm here a retired dairy farmer and big oliver collector. He has a 2255 with cab with dual rear single fronts 2wd. I love that cat engine as well
SWEEET! That is one special tractor, Mr. Paul Lano has a gem there. Thanks and have a great weekend.
Beautiful tractor plus its the right shade of green.
Lime green Steiger would be the correct shade ! Lol
Nice tractor!
What a beast of a tractor!
Thats the cleanest 2255 I've ever seen also my favorite oliver tractor
Thanks for another great video Brian.
It was interesting.
Wow. That Oliver tractor is a big one for sure. Paul has done a great job of restoration with it and shows off great with those duals.
Beautiful tractor.
Thanks again.
The Iowa farm boy. Steve.
My dad had an Oliver 15hp tiller steer outboard boat motor back in the sixties. Painted same color as the tractors & decals. Must have quite an engineering company.
Very cool, awesome tractor
The 3208 was one of Cats biggest lemons.
That is one sweet Oliver!!
Compact / short tractor for the horsepower - neat....👍👍
Thats a really cool tractor, and tastefully put together. I would put a different style of tires on the front, though.
Awesome tractor
Great tractor🚜🚜
Powerful!
That is one awesome looking toy🇺🇸
NICE EQUIPMENT .
I want to see this beast in the field!
*Let the Sunshine In...*
I want one.
The 3208 isn't a terrible engine, it is light and compact. With that being said, that's its fatal flaw... it was a diesel engine designed with the mechanical strength of a gasoline engine. Keep them happy; things can go south quickly.
We keep them revved up when working them in these tractors, as they like to be ran at proper speeds and not lugged. My 2255 FWA has the 3150, and it does well. This guy’s tractor must have been re-powered with a 3208 because he states his is a 1973 model, and 1974 is the break year from 3150 to 3208. There truthfully aren’t a ton of FWA 2255s with the 3208 since it came so late in production, and the green paint went away in 1975.
Have a Community College, with a diesel program, close by. Let the students keep the bottom end in tack.
Correct . They did better in a combine. Revs for days but no bottom end. Except for the Perkins Oliver/White never had the motor till the Cummins in the last Whites model. Shame. The rest of the tractor was a good tractor. We had two 2-70 and 2-105. I thought these were big. Now we have two 9460r John Deere’s doing the same ground way faster. No more plowing in rotating shifts.
beautiful
totally awsom !!!!!
I thought Oliver's biggest tractor was a 2655, a 4w drive articulated tractor. A picture of one on tractor data.
Aumann used to say, “Oliver is the best tractor to Grace Gods earth”
I worked on one of those. Oliver 2255s and it must have been an earlier version than the one in this video. This one had an 1160 caterpillar V8 diesel. It didn't have the duels and it didn't have the front wheel assist but even still it was very massive and it was very powerful. What's unusual is that it's such a large tractor in my area which is Eastern Tennessee. You don't see a lot of very big tractors here
If it had an 1160 it had been engine swapped, which wasn’t uncommon the lifetime of these machines. They were only factory spec’d with 3150s from 1972-74, and then the 3208 (non-turbo) from ‘74-‘75 end of run. Doesn’t surprise me, as an 1160 likely mates up the same as the other engines and was available.
Wow!
Man!....The toy tractors these days are getting larger!👍👍👍👍👍💯💯💯💯💯⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
That is F ing bad ! Its like the Incredible HULK ! But its a tractor . Thank you . 😁
Best tractors ever FACT
If i win a BIG lottery.
Only bad thing about a 3208 is the lack of cylinder-sleeves. Other than that, they're great engines, and they sound the business.
If i could get my hands on one of these .........................................
I would hate to have to buy new tires for this tractor.
👍👍
Wow, I had no idea they made a tractor like that. Mandela effect
What was that beast parked next to it?
I'd like to get a 2-180 paint it green and white and put it to work.
Awesome looking, well done, like he said go big or go home.
Just needs an umbrella!
Xe ngon rượu ngon Việt Nam đây mấy ông già 🇻🇳😅😂❤
Oliver is a whole lot better than Noneofher
Bit sacrilege to paint a Cat green, but I’m guessing Oliver didn’t want it distracting people
We have a 2255MFWD and 1855MFWD. The 2255 is not the largest Oliver ever built. There is a 2655 that articulates
Carver county fair.
She’s a beauty.
😂😂🤣🤣😂🤣🤣🤣
the FWA 😊😊 gave U more pulling power all 4 tires pull at the same time ⌚😊 they were just like the old 4 wheel drive trucks they had the manual hubs U could turn and lock in U put the transmission in 4WD and 1ST gear 2 give U more pulling power good mud tires pull good on those trucks 😊😊 OMG 1 13 2O24
I thought it would have had the cat 1893T engine
Hi priced toy.
Front duels, definitely not factory
I always liked the Oliver's. Dad did not.
That's not the biggest Oliver the 2655 is bigger.
👍👍
