Mr. Orlis Francis has a great memory and such a nice guy. He reminds me of my father-in-law, just a year younger. Thanks for sharing, I hope everyone had a blessed Good Friday and want to wish everyone a Happy Easter!
Nice looking tractor I got to operate one of those when I was in the 10th grade it was a powerful tractor I had to get used to that hand clutch but I picked it up pretty quick. Thanks for these good videos.
It’s so nice, I just have a hard time believing it’s original paint, it’s 70 years old, no way no water got under the paint, beautiful tractor though and a nice heartwarming story.
@@kw6828if that thing has been worked as much as the guy says it has, it’s definitely repainted, the paint is supposed to be lead, I know my fair share of lead paints, your not gonna get lead paint to go like that, and it crumbles up overtime too, so it’s definitely been re Done, maybe not enginework
Thanks for another great video Brian. It was interesting and enjoyable. Very nice old G John Deere is great condition for not being restored. Wonderful story this gentleman has about the tractor and his dad being the owner thru a lot of years. Thanks. The Iowa farm boy. Steve.
I'm guessing when he said it's been maintained but not restored that means it's been kept in continuous running condition since 1947, not parked in the fence row for 50 years then dragged back and "restored". It's probably had a couple repaints, a couple engine rebuilds, rear end rebuild, new clutches, etc. Doesn't matter though, it's a great story and an awesome old tractor.
According to tractor data it had 35 HP at the drawbar. It was rated at 975 RPM and had a 4.2-1 compression ratio. No torque rating was mentioned but those two cylinders had lots of torque compared to the other tractors of their era.

Those G’s sound good, probably the best sound of all the 2-Cylinders.
Great story. Beautiful tractor.
Wonderful tractor

I thinking he may have missed spoke in saying it’s all original.

What a nice gentleman. He is the kind of person, that I could be around, all day log. Precious memories!
Nice sounds great 👍🏻🇺🇲
they sure built them to last back in the day.. impressive how well the family took such immaculate care of it too.. you just don’t see that anymore.

Nice. 👋👋👍🏻👍🏻. Great story. Happy Easter. 🐰🐰
Thanks for sharing 😊
Tractors that size and smaller did the work and put food on the table for the whole Country.
We have Grandpa's 1938 WC Allis Chalmers. Bought new and has original rear tires.
I wonder if the new stuff they sell today will still be around in 75 years? 🤷♂️🤣
7 sets of tires, sure, but how many engine rebuilds? With a story like this, it surely has 50,000 hours of run time on it
Rocky ground eats tires pretty quick. No matter what they've had to do to this tractor to keep it going all these years, it's an amazing story.
we have a new holland 77 that we pulled with a b for decades. we have a spare, if you want one just come get it. that should bring back old memories
Did they say that was original?
2 cylinders? what horsepower and torque did that thing put out? Nice machine!

It’s been painted, he probably means it hasn’t needed totally stripped and restored, not original
Paint by any means.
Yep , look at the paint on the axles.
More rather one, you ought declare the country of origin to complete your information
