3:25 that's the 1983 Cyclon pictured, James Dyson's very first vacuum cleaner that was only sold door-to-door.
    The DA001/DC01, Dyson's first mass-market and Dyson-branded vacuum cleaner, wasn't released until 10 years later, in 1993.

@@UXXVASDA, the Leeds-based supermarket chain, was bought by Walmart in 1999, but that doesn't make it Walmart.

@@RWL2012 True, although, it’s worth noting that in some places, like Swindon, Wiltshire (at the orbital shopping park), the Asda superstore is called “Asda Walmart” lol. The branding on the front of the building has the Asda logo and the Walmart logo next to one another.
So they’re at least trying to promote the “Walmart” name to a degree.

I love certain things Dyson my Dyson vacuum, and I hate certain things. It truly does clean well. It is very cool-looking and the ball design makes it maneuver like nothing else on the market. My gripes: it has a horribly flimsy build quality and have a very unrefined feel to them. They rattle, they creak, and squeak. Miele has a major leg up in this way, as all of their units feel ultra solid, even in the way they feel to use. I think as far as bagless uprights go, Dyson is probably the most well-developed. Shark, however, also has a great bagless design - the Vertex.

I agree that Dyson vacuums feel flimsy. I own a Miele canister vacuum and a critical part broke after the warranty expired. I do monthly maintenance on my vacuums. My Dysons are still going, just picked up their newest cordless.

Good innovation. Cheap plastic. It sucks up pet hair however the centrifugal effect also releases unwanted aromatics. And absorbs into the cyclone separator cones. Problem is to much centrifugal force also can add to wear and tear of the plastic and leave minute surface scratches in the cones. Within itself cyclone separation isn't bad but going overboard and the addition of more components isn't really simplicity. Bagless doesn't need to be elaborate. Yes reduced filter cleaning is ok, but it takes its toll eventually. Plastics weaken over time, filter wash recommendations requires 24hrs to dry. Materials are getting cheaper. Labor is getting cheaper and labor laws are at times broken to get the product out quicker with a lot of shortcuts and unhealthy working environments for the factory workers which takes its toll on quality. Sadly its all about quantity and not quality. And the look at the technological advances we have made while the ones building our products suffer greatly and don't get rewarded for their work. If I made vacuums. I would make them user friendly and back up my product saying " No labor staff member building our product has been unjustly treated while building this product and has been held in high regard in processing our product" This would be on all my product packages. I'll build a vacuum more user friendly and more affordable that everyone can enjoy

Dyson first started manufacturing his vacuum cleaners in Wrexham North wales , where he had his dyes damaged by a subcontractor. Then he moved his factory down south. I sing off the same page as James Dyson and agree with lots of his thinking. The reason the UK went down the pan so rapidly , is because we stopped doing what made us Great in the first place . Design Manufacturing and inventing. America made much the same mistake.

They are innovative but do not make reliable products that are built to last. Here in the UK they are always in the rubbish tip. Dyson stop supporting products after 8 years or so, forcing the customer to buy a new one. So I’m not keen on them, despite Mr Dyson producing clever products I cannot say they are top end quality sorry.
