City slickers need to watch these videos, now days there have hard time comprehending the simplest things like 2 years meshing together to turn each other
1. This is about open diff, not posi-trac, naming should be changed 2. The video is missing very important goal of the differential - equalizing the torques on both wheels to make the car neutral on steering. Just letting the wheels turn at different speeds is a secondary goal, which can be accomplished by ratcheting mechanism, e.g. lunchbox lockers.
That's how an open differential works. This video is titled PosiTrac (a portmanteau of Positive Traction). Your video title is misleading and incorrect.
You copied this video (czcams.com/video/yYAw79386WI/video.html) then put an incorrect title on it. And even many years after you were told the title was wrong, haven't changed it.
I just wasted 4 minutes on something I already know. It is not Posi Trac that piques my interest as opposed to Torsen diff. Fail. Richard needs to get a clue though the ole skool narration is a kind of interesting.
This highly educational film has one small fallacy. This is not a positraction differential. I believe this is an open carrier differential.
Indrid Cold - It definitely IS an open differential. Fail.
ya . I saw the spider gears that need to be welded to make posi.
The best video on explaining how an open differential works not a posi. Still the best demonstration I've seen.
How exactly does the posi-trac on a Plymouth work? It just does
Love the way he says spokes
please rename this video so that it can better serve humanity!
Very cool visual display of how a differential works.
my mind is blown. Thank you.
That guy was on every video in the 1940’s, he must’ve been a very busy dude!
IT JUST DOES!!!!
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
This is how an "open" differential works not a posi. Either way this is a great video and an easy and effective way to learn about an open diff
My Cousin Vinny sent me here.
Great old school explanation
But I would advise to use the mechanisms of the hand movement and speech as they are excellent.
Perfect. Thanks
That announcer though
"It is amazingly simple." *suddenly gets confusing at **3:29*
Sarah Howard lmaoo
I actually learned something out of my curiosity from Joe dirt
This is so fucking epic. I wish it was just called what a differential is.
Sending to all garages in tampa... Lol
. Mislabeled... NO "posi trac" shown... just how an open differential works...
NOT Positrac!!!!
Badass!
Spooks or spokes?
This is a terrific video, however this is not a "Positrac" differential it is a standard open differential.
I guess Joe Dirt's dad never watched this video...
IT JUST DOES!!
Come here after watching Joe dirt and the first words I hear are: "It is amazingly simple."
I thought “it just does”
This is an illustration of an open Differential, not a Posi.
Joe Dirt’s dad would be amazed
It's not posi trac
More spokes!
It just does
I still don’t know why positraction is needed
"Is this your opinion or is it a fact?"
City slickers need to watch these videos, now days there have hard time comprehending the simplest things like 2 years meshing together to turn each other
Hmm. You may be right about that, but did you notice that it's an open diff? That's definitely not posi traction.
lol "2 years"?
Im from the city and i can tell you that this isnt a limited slip diff there, country boy

Without doubt best example of how posi track gears works
Pfft i know how it works...it just does!
Lol this is just a differential
Not posi track but very educational none the less!
This is an open differential. Not Posi-Trac.
its an open diff not posi
That's how an open differential works. This video is titled PosiTrac (a portmanteau of Positive Traction).
Your video title is misleading and incorrect.
This is an open differential, This is not positrac

Great educational video but that is not positraction.

1942 Army Training Film

This isn't a positraction differential; it's just a basic differential. Down-voted for misleading title and wasting my time.
It just does
This is an open differential, not a posi.
