Panama City Beach is a resort town in Bay County, Florida, United States, on the Gulf of Mexico coast. As of the 2010 census it had a population of 12,018. The city is often referred to under the umbrella term of "Panama City". Panama City Beach's slogan is "The World's Most Beautiful Beaches" due to the unique,[ sugar-white sandy beaches of northwest Florida.
Panama City Beach is a popular vacation destination, especially among people in the Southern United States. The city is also a popular spring break destination, due to its beach and proximity to most of the Southern United States. The first two seasons of MTV’s Floribama Shore were filmed in the city.
A construction boom in the early to mid 2000s changed the image of the area due to the older homes and motels being replaced with high-rise condominiums and more expansive homes. However, this is turning unobstructed, low-rise beach views and affordable waterfront property into rarities. At the peak of the real estate boom, many beachfront properties had quadrupled or more in value since 2000. In November 2006 CNN/Money named Panama City Beach the No. 1 real estate market in America for the next five years in Beachfront property has sold for upwards of $60,000 per "front foot" (linear foot) at the top of the market. The downturn in the U.S. real estate market in 2007, combined with a surge of new condo construction, brought spiraling prices somewhat under control. With the real estate boom, Panama City Beach became a well known destination for spring break.
Category 5 Hurricane Michael made landfall near Mexico Beach in Bay County on October 10, 2018, becoming one of the strongest and most-destructive hurricanes in American history as it destroyed a large part of the county, including many structures in Mexico Beach and Panama City. An EF-0 tornado did minor damage to the northwest part of Panama City Beach, Florida on February 15th.Tornadoes of 2021

No such thing as "Downtown" PCB... The only "Downtown" ( if you wanna call it "Down town") is old Panama City.
I was there in Panama city and Florida beach last year in Jan2021. Lovely place.
I grew up in South Georgia and this was like our beach!😊 . I guarantee alot of the people you see walking and riding around are there for the weekend from Georgia.
If only you would remain in Georgia...we would much appreciate it...
@@JONISTI1 PCB has always been an attraction for Ga. and Alabamians. They used to call it the Redneck Riviera. I'm pretty sure they would not had built that endless row of hotels along the beach if they had not intended people to come stay in them. SMH.

My has PCB changed. I used to live just 4 hours away from PCB, spent a lot of time down there. However that was a long time ago as now I'm a good 10 - 11 hours away. Been 20 years since last time I've been to PCB and it's changed so much. Thanks for the vid!
At the 34:00 minute mark you can see the condo on your left and parking garage on your right. Calypso Resort! Where we stay every year. Very nice condos that’s on the beach. Big nice rooms and lovely pools. Parking garage is always a bonus too. Close to everything. 5 stars!!!
Panama City Beach, I lovely place in Florida where it has the highest palm trees, the sandy beaches, and the best views of the ocean.
Heading west over the Hathaway Bridge that connects Panama City, Florida to Panama City Beach, Florida on Front Beach Road, past where I used to live before Hurricane Michael, past Pier Park, and one of my favorite eateries ending at Back Beach Road. Now I'm in Panamá, the country. TY for a great memory ride!

I rode the charter bus to Panama City Beach, so it was one of the best times of my lifetime. I really enjoyed going there and seeing the city and the people that were visiting. I stayed at one of the best hotels there. I loved their shopping center near Edgewater Hotel off of Highway 30. Panama City Beach can’t get no better than this, and I would love to live there. The problem is the flooding situation are really bad. Panama City Beach is a very good place to visit and the students from all over the world can come stay for a whole week.

I went to PCB in May 2023 for my cousin’s wedding which was in Rosemary Beach

I can honestly say it sucks here but the view from the shores of panama
Worst part of pcb is Thomas drive and front beach road. It's where wal mart and pineapple willys is by. Every year that place is ridiculous with drunk college kids everywhere. This past spring break was a good example of how bad it gets.
I've visited here a few times, I'm not a local. I don't understand why there's negative comments. I've never had any problems while here. Would it be a good idea to retire here?? Asking for a friend.

As a resident I’d say it really depends on when you retire because as of now there is tons of renovation and new buildings and expansions happening, unless your ok with constantly dealing with companies for land or new condos being built.

The Beach is the Beach and the Downtown is Downtown.
As a lifelong Local and PR/Marketing and being in the politics ...it is one town (Bay County).
Panama City beach and Panama City are not the same town hence why they have 2 separate police departments, mayors and councils.

Yes they are both part of Bay County....doesn't mean they are the same. It's just like Mexico Beach is in Bay County....BUT its not part of Panama City. Lynn Haven is in Bay County....but its also not part of Panama City.

Panama City 'BEACH' is Just that, it is the 'Beach' to Panama City.
Panama City has a "Downtown"; Harrison Avenue is "Downtown". (See you have a video, but for visitors that do not know, they need to be aware).

Downtown PCB is at the corner of Hwy 79 & 98 ( old Back Beach Rd ) where city hall, police dept., Library is .
There is not a Downtown PCB...
PCB is the Beach to Panama City, Panama City has a Downtown...Harrison Avenue.
@@ITSHProductions If you conduct any business with PCB to have to go to 79 & 98 to do it. All PCB government services are conducted from this area and that is why i would call it downtown PCB .

I was moved here as a child against my wishes. I'm originally from mountains and farm land....I hated moving here, until my 20s, this is a gorgeous place with great Mom and Pop places and if it's not the emerald waters and white sand, it's the natural springs and wildlife you cannot find anywhere else. Not to mention the people are nice.

It is amazing how the money grabbing developers have ruined this beautiful area of the Gulf coast. Wen I was there in 68-70, all those god awful condos and hotels were not there. You could drive along the beach and see the water, the palm trees, a few lounges and some motels, and no real traffic jams. Now you can drive along the 'Front Beach Road' and never see the beach. There must be 100s of street lights. What kind of vacation place is this monstrosity?

Hurricane Michael put a bad hurting on the residence of Panama City, there was a housing crisis before the hurricane but after Michael there's been a large number of homeless working people wandering the streets and making homeless camps
