  • What's in Modena, Utah?
    That's a good question.
Most would say nothing, just a blip if you're heading east or west.
I thought an investigative motorcycle ride on my DR650 might be in order since I was curious about the area.
Surprisingly, there was quite a bit of interesting things around in this slice of rural Southwestern Utah, most notable was a hotel that was built in 1900 and is still standing...barely. Supposedly it's haunted, how cool.
The area certainly demands a return trip.
Running from the lightning was the icing on the cake.

The locals pronounce it "Moe-Deena". All the old timers said it was where the chinese workers would eat dinner and would ask for more dinner. Not sure how true that is but what we were told growing up in enterprise. It was a stage stop for steam engine trains and died out when coal took over.

You ride the some of the coolest parts of the world. We want to head over and ride with you. LOL. Actually was looking at houses over there. Some areas are very expensive.

Well come on over, lets ride! Southwestern Utah has become very expensive, no doubt about that. Appreciate you watching!

Love your videos, the scenery is the complete opposite of where I live in the ozarks. If U got the copper idea from a trusted source, then cool, but copper is a really good conductor of heat and could transfer the oil cooler heat right into the tank plastic. A good ole piece of cowhide leather might work well, but probably would never be an issue either way. Thanks for posting.

Appreciate you watching!! I would love to do some riding in the Ozarks, some fishing too! Yeah, I was curious about the copper, knew it would transfer heat but the tank isn't constantly touching the oil cooler. When the tank is full it can bump into the oil cooler when I'm riding in bumpy terrain and as the gas is consumed and the tank gets lighter it gets more space between the two. Might add more padding to see what happens. So far so good.

Im based in VIC, Australia and its not easy to track down a place like this here, all our tracks are in dense bushland usually, maybe i just need to look harder or go exploring.

Sometimes you just got to stop and have a look around, you'd be surprised what you run into. I blew right by this little ghost town many times without even blinking.

Me thinks the DR is your best bike for your riding style and area...a small windshield and presto...thin KLR...😄😄

It's certainly starting to become my 'go to' bike, especially since I've got it almost built out now.

You should do the 3x3 mod to maximize performance with that

Increase the airbox size? How much more performance would that give me?
