  • Today Jeff is unveiling a new Depth, Speed-Through-Water, Water Temperature, Boat Attitude Smart MultiSensor from Airmar. The new DST810 Smart Multisensor, together with Airmar's CAST™ App, is the convergence of advanced hull data, matched with a simple and reliable way to calibrate accurate speed via a wireless device. This changes how boaters receive and deliver information to get greater performance from their hull. It is a simple, consistent way to calibrate speed-through-water regardless of what display system is on board. The DST810 and Airmar CAST App deliver capabilities that until now, were only available through expensive PC based software. You can also check out ‪@airmargen‬

    I quote this transducer in every install. Love it!

    I read my directions, and it says to remove that yellow O ring and replace it with that black O ring, or the transducer will not fit in. It also says to grease the O rings with grease supplied. Happy boating

    I like the way Airmar did the through-hull to make it less messy to get the sensor back out of the water. However, doesn't the wheel have to be down _IN_ the water flow under the hull to work? It looks like the flapper valve would be preventing the full insertion of the sensor.

      Good question, rest assure the paddle wheel is the water unobstructed.

    I have an older airmar one from 2007 (came with ST60)
    I want to replace to this.
    Is the sleeve the same size? I don't plan to lift the boat until the end of the year, but would love to change before that if possible.
    Thank you!

    We have installed an airmar ust800 transducer and have Raymarine axiom system with I70s. We can’t get accurate readings and are told by airmar that we need to calibrate it with a garmin. Which is ridiculous. How can we get this to work correctly?

  • @PhilLemoine
    @PhilLemoine Před 3 lety

    I installed the DST800. Notable difference is the connection, the DST800 requires an itc-5 to get data onto the NMEA network. Not sure of the cost difference tho.
    Loosely related Question: I have a old wind instrument at the top of the mast (can tell brand/model). It's connected to a Raymarine ST60. Can I reroute the connection to the itc-5?

    • @PacificYachtSystems
      @PacificYachtSystems  Před 3 lety +1

      Hi Philippe, I think so. Anyone else can share their experiences with the ITC-5.

    • @abhorred
      @abhorred Před 3 lety

      @@PacificYachtSystems yes the ITC-5 adapts your analog wind outputs and has dedicated connections for just that

    I want to buy a DST810 for my sailboat and have noticed that sometimes the item is listed as “Garmin” sometimes “Lowrance” or no manufacture listed at all in the part description (e.g. Airmar DST810PV-N2 Plastic Smart Multisensor 235kHz with Bluetooth NMEA 2000); will all of these end connectors be compatible with a backbone of micro c drop tee’s or is it more to do with the conversion of the analog to digital and is proprietary? The chart plotter and MFD’s are all Raymarine. Can you help me make sense of this? Thanks and love you tech talk vids.

      @PacificYachtSystems  Před 3 lety

      Hmmm good question, but don't know the answer. Presume all of them will have N2K ends.

      I am also interested to know this. I have a Maretron DST100 since ten years or so and I remember that everything was the same about it as Airmar's DST800, even the user manual. I suppose nowadays it will exactly the same product, including the box, but how about the software installed?

    • @johanhackman
      @johanhackman Před 3 lety +1

      I now have an answer for you since I purchased a "Garmin" DST810 recently. It says nowhere anything about Garmin, nor on the box, the manual or in the software. It has a micro-C connector. I am sure the only place you will see the word "Garmin" is in the part description. I hope this helps.

      @@hankgibson8848 I have installed it without any issues at all. My system is ex-SimNet with four B&G Triton displays, one Furuno display, Simrad GPS and B&G Wind sensor. I actually don't have a plotter.
