I was able to install my fender extension with the wheel left on the bike, no issues. I drilled out the fender holes and put a piece of hard plastic between the tire and the fender so as not to drill the tire. Thanks for your videos.
Great add to the bike except the adhesive tape ultimately lets go in spite of following the directions to the letter. I just removed the useless tape and replaced with a plastic epoxy - now it’s really a great add. BTW, I have used it in a capture cycle mount (Condor) with no problem. As long as you make sure the pivoting piece of the mount is placed with the shorter end towards the fender you should be ok.

Just be aware that if you use any kind of self capturing wheel chock on a trailer or lift that has the back end "flip up" on the backside of the wheel this extension will get caught in it and possibly breaking the rear fender...
I added the Bushtec fender extension to my 2002 GL1800, 50,000 miles no problem, that bike totaled in 2005. Put a Bushtec front fender extension on my 2005, in 10,000 miles it busted the rear part of the front fender, replaced that and 2-3,000 miles later it broke it again, and as much as I loved the extension I had to take it off as I had spent about $300 on replacement fender parts in about a year. I am glad to see that with the new model they seem to have fixed that problem.
Hi Max, rather than take the wheel off is it easier to just remove the fender part and fit the extension with the fender off the bike? I did that with my 2011 model but not sure if it is as simple with the 2018?
I looked at this today. While I didn't try it, I think what you are suggesting can be done pretty easily. You remove the painted front fender, then there's 4 bolts that hold the black back fender on. Two in front of the fork and 2 in back of it.
what are your thoughts about making that thing a little shorter? seems like it could get hung up on a curb or something. also, what brand are those fog lights on that bike?

The plastic is quite soft, I am sure it would be easy to trim to any desired length.
The foglights are Honda.

No, it's not the like 01-17 bike. You need to take the wheel off to do it right.
