My personal favorite has always been mercenary bot with the executioner's sword and just set up to generate as much temp health as possible. He has saved my life more than any other bot. Ironbreaker is great too, but he tends to ult over me and just stand there blocking which often gets me killed faster because of the overhands from elites that he triggers.
Still one stupid thing about the ironbreaker but for me was that when i got downed he used his ult and just blocked and never revived me although he had plenty of time for it happend more than 1 time in a row
I like Zealot too, but for me the best is Unchained: She can snipe specials, she can survave hordes and she heals everyone. One time on Legend I get down, two others bots were dead and then Minotaur comes. She kills him alone. Best bot for me.
My footknight earned my respect and its place in the team. At only 1 HP on legend he charged at a patrol, dodged a hookrat and killed an assassin. All at the same time and he got out without a scratch
@@user-rd3ou5ev6o The bots use whatever build you have on them. The career that you used last is what the bot character will go into the mission with. I'm not sure that you get a choice as to what bot characters come with you though
Quick thing I’d add about the waystalker bot is if you are using her make sure to have the talent piercing shot for level 30. The boy AI is surprisingly good at getting headshots and she can put out some insane damage.
Interesting hasn’t thought of trying this. Does she still use it consistently to snipe specials or does she waste it on elites. Also does it do much when it comes to bosses?
Yeah, these placings sound about right. Problem is that the differences between the various heroes and their careers are dwarfed by the weaknesses that bots have as bots. The platforming issues, weird priorities, not sticking to the player, running at specials with drawn range weapons instead of just killing them, taking on monsters wherever they appear, instead of pulling them to open spaces and the absolute inability to function in boss fights (always running into the Halescourge whirwind) etc. I would take the worst bot careers into my party if they didnt suffer from those issues, over the best careers with these problems.
You say that, but my personal experience in Legendary shows me that bots are just more competent than useless players like 75% of the time. They stick together like a team, they don't kill you with friendly fire, they understand how to stay alive, they don't get picked off. There are tons of moments of bots being stupid, sure, but those moments are still lower than with human teammates for some reason.
Unchained, Handmaiden/Waystalker if I'm missing ranged dmg, Witchhunter Captain, Iron breaker and even if not used as bot Mercenary. Worked for me wonderfully in most of my legend runs
soon as it started i knew BH would be in Dtier haha "he will die in 5mins" so true he runs around with his ult gun out scurrying round like a headless chicken lol
I like my merc bot with shield and heal share, sure he will get downed a lot and use all meds available but if you and other bots run boon of shallya the whole team will be near full hp most of the time.
Hey! I was messing around on recruit with bots but had to go afk for 5-10 minutes. When I got back the mission has already ended. Are bots this useless? Like lvl 25 Unchained, lvl 15 Iron Breaker, Foot Knight (yeah, will swap back to Mercenary). With my little experience I can agree with your list.
The thing is if you die with a full team of bots, even if they're all still alive, the mission ends. So you probably went down to an assassin while they were off dealing with hordes, or you got camped by a gas rat they couldn't reach
The glowing illusions can be obtained in 2 ways. First there are the teal/blue/white (I’m colorblind) illusions. These are the red item illusions. So if you get a red item it naturally has this glow to it. If you salvage a red item you can put that illusion on any weapon like the one you broke down. Then there are the purple illusions. These can be bought in the cosmetic shop if you have the bogenhafen dlc I believe.

I can’t agree with WHC being B tier simply because of his witch hunt passive giving YOU 20% more damage (so long as you remember to tag your enemies). Otherwise I agree with most of this stuff
Mercenary and Unchained generate so much THP, it's almost impossible to die. WHC does have a nice crowd control skill and also gives you a dmg boost by pinging enemies. He is suprisingly tanky with rapier. But especially Mercenary with Sister of Thorn does generate ALOT of THP, while SoT does sniper elite very reliably with spears and her skill. A very good combo.
Sister of the Thorn is somehow freaking insane, if a special or elite isn't killed by me, it's likely her and she outperforms the other bots on the leaderboard by 2-4x. Not sure how, but seems somewhat consistently so. (Only recently returned to the game though.)
Thanks for the tips. Now we need a video on how to equip bots. For example I like to give them lmb spam weapons because I think with the mod they will lmb hordes and rmb elites.
Normally the bots you get are the last class you played (there's also a character priority option in config menu), but if you are using the Loadout Mod (which is sanctioned btw), there's a box you can click when you save a loadout (of items, talents, and even cosmetics) called "bot override". What "bot override" will do is to always use that loadout and class with the bot of that character.

Also what ranged weapon do you run on your zealot bot? I appreciated how tanky he was “for a victor bot” but hadn’t really noticed a particularly high level of special kills from him. I’m assuming it’s Bc I prefer repeater crossbow on him when I play zealot instead of BoP like I would run on the other careers and he likes to use it’s spread shot alt fire a lot which obviously isn’t great for sniping far away specials
I play on cata so no grims for my bots, but I have noticed that some bots are just better than others. My bot setup, which works pretty well is: Merc with exe and handgun. For big thp generation, extra attack speed and crowd control. He is actually pretty decent at staying alive and killing shit. Unchained with flail and bolt staff. For thp generation and cuz she is the tankiest bot after ironbreaker. Ranger veteran with shield and hammer. For thp generation and beer/pots and bombs. Witch hunter with rapier and pistols. For extra crit, crowd control and single target damage. These are in order of priority. Uc and merc stay alive and do some damage, rv and whc are often horizontal. Elf bots are all terrible and will die really fast.
I HATE Grail Knight. The number of times he's ulted... Held that stupid sword above his head for a good 15 seconds, and then ran full speed into a patrol to use it and died...
I dont get it. I take GK because of the buffs and yes he can do a lot of damage to the boss but honestly he sucks. He dies more than any other bot that I bring. For survivability I would put him way down on the list. Damage to bosses, S tier though.
I find he doesn’t die that much if you have the talent where he gets thp after getting hit. I think his damage and what he does for team is pretty invaluable as well. Kruber in general will take alot of damage, but you can build to avoid it with gk.
What weapon you're giving to him? Don't let the GK Bot use the Bret. sword, I noticed that the bot doens't know how to use the charged attack properly with this sword, and will allways get hit trying to block with the charged attack. The best weapon for him is the Exe. Sword, it has excelent CC. If, by mistake i let him with the Bret. sword, he dies almost 5 minutes into the game, guaranted.
Console players like me don’t :( my grail knight is great when he’s alive with that special but man I’m always so surprised at the hits he lets get through
Last I checked the bot improvement mod was no longer working since they dropped engineer, but i have not checked in a few weeks. I did use it all the time however and grail knight was pretty good with it. All of the kruber classes are going to take those kind of hits where they really shouldn’t. As far as whc goes, I’ve found him to be difficult to rely on. I’ve seen him die to a single chaos infantry before. Literally like a one on one where he had no business getting hit. People use him so that they can do more damage from tagging and get extra crit chance though. That’s all.
If you set up your bots with "meta" player weapons you are setting yourself up for fail. Bots need weapons with lot of stamina shields. Then they perform significantly better.
My top bots is Unchained and WHC. IB is just useless a lot of the times, to the point he just stands above downed player/other bot and just blocks, without doing anything. I don't like Zealot tho, too often goes yolo with that ult and does some weird shit, same as FK. And, the most controversial opinon - I hate Merc. Or they amount of power it's independent..? Why I'm asking this? If I put an increase If I put an increase in power in the talents, will it go up? Or does his power statistic not move because it is determined by the amount I have? And well, I have another lol hope someone read this🤞 will help me a looooot. In some talents it says "headshots", are this just for distance weapons? Or does it also refer to melee..? I find Zealot to be even more useless than BH. Being a bot he'll heal when under 50% hp, so most of his skills won't ever be useful. His invulnerability is useless, he'll die right after 95% of the time, his ult does nothing at all appart getting him killed and he doesn't kill any more specials than any other bot.
Run natural bond instead of barkskin. If i remember correctly, it will cause bot AI to not heal zealot. This allows you to rely on his damage reduction talents for his tankiness, and temp HP (meaning he works great with a merc or an unchained running the temp HP ult)
Very smart list tbh pretty good analysis but I think putting Bounty Hunter in D tier is wrong, he will die in Legend or Champion almost every time that is a big issue, but he can do more damage than any other character in the game on Bosses (yes more than Grail Knight, Shade etc), you struggle with elites, I struggle with bosses, they die a lot sooner with Bounty Hunter on your team, just like Bounty hunter dies a lot sooner than Zealot, I would still give him a C for being able to delete bosses, but his capacity has a weak cooldown compared to Grail Knight 60sec vs 40sec, I’ve done about 300 runs comparing bots and I swear Bounty Hunter deserve better than D tier, Bots are performing differently every time but you can see some similarities on long range kills for example, Sienna is so powerful at them I strongly advice having Sienna on your team she’s for me S tier, Shade with moonlight is S tier for me too, she does absolutely everything and will survive pretty well most of the time, my best bot team with me playing Shade is Grail Knight, Unchained, and the tanky Bardin, i took Cataclysm Bot builds from Ranalds.gift website for Sienna and Bardin they are working well. Hope I can help someone that wants good bots with this comment
The only thing about Grail is that he WILL ult and then sprint for that 1 Warpfire 2 miles away.

I like WHC as a bot to have access to the party wide crit boost on taggable enemy death and tagging for damage.

Not only that, it also avoids her to aggro a patrol thanks to a single Gutter Runner.

100% agree they are programmed terribly. They do soo many dumb things. Even and S tier bot is probably not even half as good as a random.

I run outcast engi as a bot some times just because he just has constant seizures but still is able to kill things

I've got iron breaker as my top bot. With his damage reduction, I can always don't in him to rez people. Unchained with a bolt staff is great too.

They can drop from any chest including commendation chests. Only thing is the more common the chest, the lower the chance of getting a red.

How do you set the class for your bots? i only see the option to select the name of each bot and put them in order but not choose which class
Your bots are set based on what you played and used last with that specific character.

I always go bop on zealot bot with scrounger. The more ammo he has the more specials he can kill.

I always go axe and shield and crossbow for him.

The outcast engineer is way better than your giving it credit for give him a torpeedo launcher and a cog hammer and he pwns
This was made before the torpedo existed so keep that in mind. Personally I find him to be a bit squishy though.

Very smart list tbh pretty good analysis but I think putting Bounty Hunter in D tier is wrong, he will die in Legend or Champion almost every time that is a big issue, but he can do more damage than any other character in the game on Bosses (yes more than Grail Knight, Shade etc), you struggle with elites, I struggle with bosses, they die a lot sooner with Bounty Hunter on your team, just like Bounty hunter dies a lot sooner than Zealot, I would still give him a C for being able to delete bosses, but his capacity has a weak cooldown compared to Grail Knight 60sec vs 40sec, I’ve done about 300 runs comparing bots and I swear Bounty Hunter deserve better than D tier, Bots are performing differently every time but you can see some similarities on long range kills for example, Sienna is so powerful at them I strongly advice having Sienna on your team she’s for me S tier, Shade with moonlight is S tier for me too, she does absolutely everything and will survive pretty well most of the time, my best bot team with me playing Shade is Grail Knight, Unchained, and the tanky Bardin, i took Cataclysm Bot builds from Ranalds.gift website for Sienna and Bardin they are working well.
