I had a stroke in August of last year and I've lost the ability to draw. My sketch books has lain dormant since then. You're video gave me some ideas of how to create art again using my non-dominate hand. Thank you.
Nora Dennis hi 👋 😊 I don't know if you have heard of them but you may enjoy using Crayon Rocks. They are made from Soy. Though aimed at children they are shaped to fit the tripod grip of fingers so people with hand difficulties can use them much easier than stick shaped supplies, they are mineral pigmented. I love them and have the Box Of Rocks that has about 30 crayon rocks I think. Il be reviewing them on my CZcams channel soon 😊 I hope they may help you to be creative too 😊🌺🌺

How to fill a scetch book
DRAW
You know, I think most people would reply "well duh" to that comment, but sometimes the most simple answers are the best. Until recently I had the issue of thinking my sketchbook needed to be a tidy book of complete pieces, so I'd have a hard time staying motivated, or improving. Learning to let go of that idea, and just drawing for the sake of drawing, anything, anytime, with no pressure or expectations was what helped me start drawing daily since mid-Dec.

I have not kept a sketchbook for years, now I am enamored with so many on CZcams! They are a blast to look at and yours are always so joyous!To relax I like to watch my wife color in her books. I have spent years coloring artwork so I do not find much relaxation in this activity. Please keep creating this content for us to enjoy, You are a joy to watch! Did I say Joy enough? i just can not stop smiling when watching your videos!

For me the most important thing is to just chill out and not think that I always have to create full on pices
I remember i used to watch alot of your videos back when i was just 11 or 12 years old. Its not like I've grown much older, but watching your videos again make me feel nostalgic.

I always love this kind of video. It's a great reminder that every page doesn't have to be a masterpiece, part of the fun of a sketchbook is experimenting with things.
I've been binge watching all of these videos tonight (this will make #9) I've been feeling an art block coming in for a few days now so being able to take a break from my serious work and just play around with ideas has been like a breath of fresh air! I've been letting my inner child take the lead and I even busted out my water based markers. I think I'm going to do this more often! It's almost like my art block got scared of my inner child and ran away 😂😂 Thank you for these videos! Please make more of them!!!

my problem is i fill them way too quick. ive gone through three in the last couple months which is way quicker than i used to.
That's fine! If you want you could try a thicker book with more pages so it's more of a challenge.
For anyone:
Something that I do a lot when I’m sad is draw realistically. Now, I ain’t know professional realistic-drawer so I just draw something that is in front of me. For example: I was really upset about something and I drew the view outside my window.
If this helps you, please tell me so we can share our experiences, or if it doesn’t help you, what are some things that you like to draw when you’re sad? I like reading other people’s ideas, because maybe it’s something I will like! Have an amazing day !! :)
This helps me too actually! When I'm sad I like to draw mandalas or color something in a coloring book.

I have a sketchbook idea
1: draw animals as humans
2: draw yourself as different tv characters
3:draw your pet as your favorite movie characters
Oh btw here’s a bunch different flowers in my moms garden and I asked her if I could pick them and she said yes so now I’m gluing flowers in my sketchbook

cutting a picture in half and drawing one half of it is a classic middle school/high school art project

I also learned to do the half photo in high school. We did it using a black and white picture cut in half, as an exercise in shading.

When i am stressed i listen to my favourite playlist on spotify and i listen to the lyrics and watercolour some art from something that happened in the lyrics. E.g/ the other day i was listening to Beyonce-Halo and the lyrics "standing in the light of your halo i got my angel now" inspired me to watercolour an angel with the lyrics floating around her and it was AWESOME!!!!!!
I really like all of these but especially the second to last one with the magazine. These ideas are so cool and definitely what I need to get myself out of this art slump I've been in for a while. Thanks so much for making this video, ya got a new subscriber!

What’s so great about prismacolor colored pencils? I was considering purchasing some, but I wanted to know the difference between those and regular colored pencils before I spent that much money on colored pencils.
A lot of artists enjoy them because they’re really soft, blend really easily, and they allow you to layer a lot. It’s all preference though! I’ve met some people who don’t like them. If you have a blick’s near you, they let you try them in store

You can get Prisma colored pencils so much cheaper on Amazon than the regular art stores. They do break easily but I have found that when I use a pencil sharpener made by the German brand called KUM they don't break as easily when sharpening them.

What I do is I find quotes (or ask friends to find some with me) and then write that at the top of the page and draw what comes to mind. This works pretty well for me
