  • @pooder53

Take a qtip, rip a small peice of cotton off, roll it in a little peanut butter then shove it into the indentation on the mouse trap trigger. When the mice come to eat the peanut butter, their teeth will get stuck in the cotton fibers and if you wedged it in the trigger tightly enough, they will try to pull away from the trap causing it to go off. Before I found this out, the mice would always just lick the trap clean and avoid setting it off. Now any interaction they have with that peanut butter is certain death. Hope this helps 👍

I own 3 ferrets and at maximum one bath a month because frequent baths can cause more harm by drying out their skin and stripping oils causing them to stibk worse. As long as you clean the cage, litter, and have a great diet (I use Wysong) they have a pretty minimal smell. They are a lot of work (think toddlers) but they are such great company on bad days.

People are surprised when they come into my house and I have ferrets. I only use potty pads and I change them 2 or 3 times a day. They go in a diaper genie so the trash won't stink.

I told my neighbor about the acetylene gas trick a few years back when he asked me how to get rid of a couple holes in his yard. I told him I’d take care of it for him and I did. I never really stressed how stupid and dangerous it was. He moved to Florida and had a similar problem and somewhat remembered the advice I gave him so he tried it himself. He had to be emergency airlifted to a hospital and ended up in a burn unit for like a month. He looks normal now but for like a year he looked like a literal monster. This is why it’s always beneficial to have a neighbor with as little regard for his life and safety as I have.

Yeah, we used to do that with raccoons. Before that we'd catch them in a live trap and shoot them to death with a Ruger 10/22 but it would always take 10-15 shots before they'd actually die. One time I shot a raccoon directly in the face - straight between the eyes - with my compound bow and it flopped around a lot but was still alive and tried to run away before I whacked it in the brain with a shovel. Catch and drown is the the easiest most ethical way to kill raccoons/opossums etc.

Nathan Witus How is drowning something ethical? Why even kill them in the first place?

    • @the_inquisitive_inquisitor

@@diabeticmonkey you kill raccoons because they eat your chickens and shit and piss in the horses hay which can make them sick. They're a nuisance and they contribute nothing positive.
Drowning them is ethical in comparison to shooting them to death with a .22 rifle. Drowning them works the first time every time. The Ruger 10/22 frequently takes 10-15 shots before they actually die.
Like I said in my other comment I've shot a raccoon directly in the brain with a bow and arrow which I hunt DEER with and it SURVIVED and tried to run away. They're real tough little bastards.

Btw Kyle is wrong about the South not having moles. I live in Mississippi, and my dog brings moles to my porch all the time. I Googled it and Geogria definitely has moles.

Huh, i thought those star nosed moles didnt even have eyes but thats not true apparently. All mole species have eyes, though their vision tends to be quite basic. Scientists believe moles are colorblind and nearsighted, but that their eyes are exceptionally good at detecting light. Voles aren't blind either, just real bad small eyes.

As someone who's owned ferrets, they require too much work. Their cage needs constant maintenance because they smell like shit. You can't let them run around without supervision because they get into literally everything. If you own other pets, they'll never get along with them because all they do is bite everyone.

They get pancreatic issues/cancer. And it’s the saddest thing to deal with. They go fro mowing lively and funny like you think of ferrets to just then next day laying around whining and snotting hardly breathing. FYI. I’ve had 10 throughout when I was a kid and all but 4 died that way. Vet said that’s what they get, that’s what kills them because they are supposed to be wild and not in houses and as a pet they are supposed to be out killing and hiding but domestication has given them these diseases.
