RIP to AH. Watching this, all these years later, reaches so far back into the memories. The rose tinted glasses are off, but I still love content such as this. Every single member of this have grown so much since this. So much so that it’s impossible to image them making content like this as they are now.

Geoff almost had the greatest comeback.... To suicide a full health worm in the very first turn of the game, and then to almost win.... Damn, that ending was intense!
I hope H.O.V.A, KrazeeEyezKilla, Fat Joe, and Action Bronson don't get the usual "new person" comment hate when they undoubtedly join Achievement Hunter.

16:21-16:32 is now one of my favorite Worms moments ever.
It was pretty hilarious to be sure! Not really his fault though... I'd have thought the mortar would be affected by the wind the way the bazooka is given they're pretty similar, and the second shot (and third if he hadn't gotten hit before it) are automatic. I don't think he really had time to realize he should try to move or adjust the aim (only the latter being possible) in the tiny span between realizing it was falling straight down and the second shot going off, either.

Honestly, in a SHOCKING defense of Gavin... the Mega Mortar incident wasn't actually his fault. Wind DOES affect bazooka shots, so expecting it to affect the Mortar is a fair assumption. And he didn't fire it on himself twice purposefully; It automatically fires something like 3-5 shots over a few seconds. I also doubt he'd realize he could adjust its aim BETWEEN shots, even if he'd had time between realizing the wind didn't affect it and the second shot going off.
...everything else though is pretty much just him being dumb, ESPECIALLY the kamikaze stuff.

Lets just say that the British army is really lucky Gavin plays videogames.
Rookie tip for Gavin: Mortars are unaffected by wind. That's always been the case. Bazooka, Parachute, and I think Grenade was in some versions. It also affects how flames from a Molotov falls. Or an explosive barrel. The Mail Strike (Lottery Strike in some versions) was also affected by wind.
Honestly, I hadn't seen the mortar before this game in the series, much less the mega version. And given how much it's like the bazooka, I'm kinda surprised it's not.
Also, to add to the list; Poison gas is also affected by wind, such as via the gas sprayer, skunk, and old lady, and the map objects like the Rat Poison.
That ending was so intense. The Worms Let's Plays are always exciting. Would love to see more.

I find it hilarious that over the course of about 10 minutes Gavin went from having all four worms and the highest combined health to completely out of the game.

Mortars are made of metal. They don't get blown, otherwise their accuracy would be terrible.

And for the record, IRL, no matter how heavy the shell is, it will always be affected by wind. If bombers, tanks, artillery, snipers etc. don't account for that they can miss their target by miles (or meters, depending on the range). Hell, have you ever seen a biathlon? They fire metal rounds, not very far, and little changes in wind can be the difference between a bull's-eye and not even hitting the disk.

Mortars are metal, streamlined missiles. They are designed to ignore wind and still hit their targets.
I guess it makes sense but every other weapon in Worms are affected by wind. So i can see why Gavin would accidentally kill himself.

Pikajewz He shot it straight up because of heavy wind to the left. I mean I wouldve given it atleast a small angle to the left because of the distance of his targets but he DID account for the wind, its just they know that mortar doesnt affect the wind.

I love how the worms on the title screen look back and forth at each other and make awkward, fakey smiles like businessmen in an elevator. Worms is one of my favorite series.

I think Gavin's Mega Mortar bashing was unjustified. Why the hell wouldn't it be affected by the wind? Makes no sense.
Tiny engines were too angry to be affected by wind?
Also at about the 13 minute mark, when Gavin was first looking at the Mega Mortar, Ray even said 'Take into account the windage' and then bashed Gavin later on for trying to do so.
Would - what seems to be - thirty MPH winds really affect a mortar being fired that seriously?
***** It's not specifically the mortar. The wind affects almost all 'free' projectiles (grenades, molotovs, etc), but not things that expel like bazookas or air drops.
The mortar is an expel weapon with ammunition that is not just affected by gravity, but RELIES on it just like the 'free' ones. So it's in a gray area that I think lets Gavin off the hook at least for the first use anyway.
