    What a joy it is too see these older Q & A’s with RCJR with his dad. I enjoy watching the charisma and chemistry between father and son. Thankful for the power of the gospel shared by grace through truth filled messages.

      Any idea why Ligonier deleted all of RC Jr's videos from their youtube channel? I could be wrong but I think it may have been out of embarrassment and the massive amount of disgrace he brought on Ligonier from all his scandals.

      @@terryolay4613 It's a Biblical understanding that Satan attacks the firstborn male of any family. Now that's no excuse for the flesh, but it certainly can help explain the horrible pattern of struggle in Jr's life. R.C. Jr is not his father by any measure, but he has a heart for God, despite his failures. I do believe, however, the man deserved to be removed from all leadership and he should not seek such a role in the future.

      @@cheapscott8631 jr is a train wreck but thar is not anyone else fault. He has to pay his own consequences. This is very interesting as he is the one who seems to have lived in an unregenerated way while his dad stayed firm to the end. Who knows perhaps Sr spent too much time in his work rather than making sure Jr was sincere or understanding what to do. He is an alcoholic so the Lord may not be done working on him.

    Change God's mind? No, but in coming to him with deep humility and pain our sufferings and anguish, all we can do is ask, ask for his mercy, help and guidance through our great travails! Not to change his mind, but we being changed.

    p.s...My comments below has a little to do with this very good session, (except where even a very fine teacher, R. C. Sr. says nobody knows about infants or babies...not the correct answer exactly) my point in other post is that Ligonier is losing the great biblical men they had on before...I hope the ministry carries on but I see few that have the gifts and leading that R. C. had. In almost all of the conferences I see constantly where he (kindly and wisely) injects a word of clarification when all these theologians and preachers ramble on, simply not knowing or able to explain the questions...simple ones often.

  • @wally1452
    @wally1452 Před 6 lety +1

    R.C. is missed now (2018) and will be by any who followed his ministry. The Ligonier invited guests or those who are in it often give little in ways of simple answers to simple questions and I am amazed at things they say that is nothing to do with the biblical answer, as their universal salvation for all infants or (some say we are "saved" until 12 years old and accountable to "decide" for Jesus, etc.) I guess the day past 12, to age 13, the person is lost again...but he did have 12 years of God saving him, waiting for his decision...something Billy Graham type would and do believe. I was in a Baptist church like that.
    James Boice and Martyn Lloyd-Jones saw the bibles answer that many may be God's elect but there is no promise because of young age and any deciding to come on our part later warrants such belief. I am sure MacArthur believes ...and said on video to Larry King, when infants or (small kids?) are killed; "infant salvation and heaven Larry." Anyway, men as the 3 (MLJ, , R. C. and Boice) I mentioned are gone now...we have their books, etc...so stick to them. More and more I wonder if many preachers ever read the bible at all...all of it often.

      I think what sometimes causes certain of the “five points” to seem repugnant to us is that the language used to identify the points has worldly connotations, or that we understand the language in a way that sounds to us, in our limited understanding, to be unjust. I think we need to bear in mind two things: 1. God is perfectly just; 2. God’s sovereignty is a concept that we simply won’t understand at the intersection between God’s sovereignty and our day to day existential reality. This is why we sometimes have difficulty with the need for prayer, etc.

    When we are burdened to pray for Lost Loved Ones..its a burden coming from God. Which means He intends to Save. God is using us in the process. God said in His Word. That He wants All to be Saved so rest assured if burdened to pray for a lost person then that person is or will be Saved. I love Joni but those other guys are overthinking and I wish they would be quiet

    I see Ligonier has taken down all their RC Jr sermons. That was a step in the right direction. But Ligonier also needs to edit RC Jr out of these Q&A videos. It's especially hypocritical having RC Jr comment on anything having to do with marriage and family. Horrible optics, especially with him publicly bashing his own children and their late mother, Denise, accusing her of "marital unfaithfulness" when his own moral track record is so atrocious. Shortly after RC Jr signed up for Ashley Madison he hooked up with Lisa Ringel. They haven't said if it was through Ashley Madison, but it seems likely. They made their love connection while Lisa was still married to her third husband. Things got steamy right away with them sending pics of their naughty bits to each other. RC Jr started giving Lisa "marriage counseling" and encouraged her to divorce her third husband. The moment she filed for divorce he traveled from Florida to Indiana and proposed marriage. Now they're married. He calls it a "sacred marriage," which considering he literally stole Lisa away from her third husband I find hard to see the "sacredness" of.

Does it mean donors and former donors like me have no right to call Ligonier officers and directors out and hold them accountable? Does it mean ignoring Ligonier nepotism, functioning as the Sproul Family Gravy Train? How do you define this mercy you speak of?

    • @cheapscott8631

      @@scottanoskey9720 James and Stacy McDonald were close personal friends of RC Jr and Denise Sproul. James also ordained RC Jr in the Covenant Presbyterian Church and said on their Facebook that RC Jr is lying about Denise. James went further by calling RC Jr a wolf in sheep's clothing. Many former St. Peter members who were close personal friends with Denise also commented in that thread calling RC Jr a liar. The best article I've seen on the subject can be found by googling " Has RC Sproul Jr Gone Completely Insane?" For those who didn't personally know Denise they can and should at least ask themselves why RC Jr would have waited 9 years after his wife's passing to throw her under the bus? Why publicly slander his late wife at all, especially when she's not available to defend herself? It appears entirely driven by his new wife Lisa's intense hatred and jealousy of the late Denise. The 3 times divorced Lisa goaded RC Jr into alienating and publicly attacking every member of his own family. What RC Jr has done is disgraceful and cowardly.

    I am not wanting to be argumentative but if God choose the elect on the criteria of his good pleasure then it is also his good pleasure to not choose the rest. It's written that I'd takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked. I see no way to reconcile that Contradiction and it is a Contradiction not a paradox, for all paradoxes are contradictions until they can be shown to be reconcilable. We also realized that Hilter killed 6 million Jews as his own good pleasure. God is God because of his power just as Hiltler was God in Germany from his military power. Might does not make right. A God is only a true God if his attributes can be shown to be just from a logical point of view and not just do what he wants just because he can. If the doctrine of election is right then there has to be more criteria other than it pleases God else we have just another tyrant and not a true God.

      Why does age matter? Predetermined, Ephesians 1&2, see Romans 1 and 2 to see that ALL MAN at birth is fallen. Just because we haven’t decided means nothing. God still can judge the soul. What about Romans 9:13 God will have Mercy on whomever He chooses. and Jacob I loved; Esau I hated. Not for anything they have done or not done. I think you should go back and take some time on the doctrine of election, Gods Providence and start to just accept Gods Word as it is written and His Will. He is right even when we don’t “like” it.
