You live a different life in Thailand than I do. Your experiences and my experiences are vastly different. I am a solo traveler. I am totally free to do as I wish. I have no commitments. I live out of just one big backpack. I can wake up in the morning and do as I feel like doing. I've stayed in every province in Thailand and visit Bali, Malaysia, Laos, Cambodia, Phillipines.
I have been doing this for twenty five years. I'm old now.

That sounds like the life!.. the first 3-4 years here I was still living much out of my suitcase still but once business was picking up and I was married, I soon settled in much more.

Man, that is what my true happiness looks like. How did you fund all this? Not trying to pry or be too pushy. I want to live here in Thailand long term and just getting every bit of input I can for extra ideas beyond what I already do for money

Do you have to keep the 800kTHB (I think that’s what I remember it being) in the bank the entire time? Or just deposit the funds and you are able to take it out as needed?

This is the one that lead me to hit the subscribe button 🇹🇭 I think the word you’re looking for is ‘nationalist’. Thais are Nationalists not racist

.........yer keepin it Real in Thailand! Agree with the five year visa. I always thought that. When I had my Wedding dj business running. It was for 12 years. I had to do the visa runs and once a year to Penang for all that time. The country knew I was here working and paying taxes and obviously wanted to stay here. You'd think after the first TEN years they'd give you an honorary five year visa cause you proved you really want to stay in Thailand and play by their rules.....

Why don’t you get citizenship to alleviate some of the issues you mention?

It’s not really possible, you need to be over 55 years old, have lots of money in the bank, read, write Thai at a high school level and still 80% or more get turned down. Also I’d have to give up my American passport

I don't care about being a thai person. I know who I am and I love who I am. That's s*** is for people that are insecure about themselves. I'm not that person. So i'm good with that You must be talking about some young buck or something🙂
