"sandwiches, sandwiches, barely even human"
That just makes it better.
Haha now I'm going to sing it like that when I play the movie
We do not speak of the sandwiches here. Lest we summon the murrlogic
My sister absolutely loved Pocahontas when she was little and sang along to all the songs. My mum REALLY did not want her singing Savages in in public, so she managed to convince my sister that the lyrics were “Sandwiches, sandwiches, peanut butter sandwiches”. My sister was like 10 when she realized what the lyrics actually were XD
Me and my sister treated the song like a meme for years as “Cabbages, cabbages! Barely even human!”
I recently watched the Hunchback of Notre Dame for the first time in a while and yeah Hellfire is an amazing villain song, it made me feel genuinely disgusted in Frollo’s character and the combination of the vocals, lyrics, instrumental and visuals give you goosebumps. Just goes to show how great of a villain Frollo is and how great the Hunchback of Notre Dame is.
I'm surprised that "I need a Hero" didn't make it on the top 5, let alone the entire list.
Fairy godmother's delivery on that banger was phenomenal
I think its probably because its a cover and not an original song for the movie.
I do think there's a difference between "villain song" and "song a villain sings". Love is an Open Door isn't really a villain song, for example, even though the villain does sing it. While I Need A Hero is a great experience, it's not really about her or her plans, she's just singing it 'cause.
But we all agree that performance was really good. Right???

He basically is. Just goes around poking his dick in anything that breaths.
And give him a perfect relationship with Persephone!
Hades needs to be portrayed as the American dream that he is!!
I remember playing Poptropica as a kid. There was an island centered around Greek Mythology, and Zeus was the bad guy. He wanted 7 relics so he can rule the entire game, and Poseidon AND Hades gave you assistance
or Hera since she is the antagonists in the original tale

Big and Loud from Cats Don’t Dance should’ve been put on this list. Particularly the second part. It’s grand, intense, has fantastic visuals and perfectly establishes Darla Dimple as the villain.
I feel like you should check out "Biggering" from The Lorax. Now I know you may say "What's that?" It was basically the first version of "How Bad Can I Be" that was cut because it was *clears throat* "too dark", but it's simply a powerful rock opera that touches on the route of the problem of greed. Also Schaffrillas: Doesn’t put I need a hero on this list.
GX Shatering is that really a villain song though?
Morgan Freeman It’s kind of a neutral song (not sung by/for anyone specific), it’s sung by the villain though so I give it the title by a technicality
It's a cover not an original song
Morgan Freeman is the fairy god mother in that movie not evil?

I'm literally so glad people can appreciate hellfire
It's symbolism, art, etc is BEAUTIFUL and the scariest part about it is that this song cements Frollo as the most REALISTIC Disney villain (from a evil action justification standpoint)
Someone commented this on one of a post of the song and they point out how when the guard interrupts Frollo there's a soft blue light, representing heaven aka his chance to turn away from his desires but instead he gives in and becomes engulfed in his own hell
It's beautiful and I wish people would give it the justice it deserved more often
I saw the song yesterday and I cannot get it out of my head, it's so good. I haven't even watched the movie, but with the song and some clips i've seen of Frollo I can see how evil he is.
the fact that you used footage of Michael Ball as Sweeney Todd is absolutely BASED, he's so underrated
"The Room Where It Happens" is definitely a villain song, and one of my favorites ever, but "Say No To This" is an amazing transition into it
The room where it happens, wait for it, raynolds pamphlets and the king's song (sorry idk it's name) are the best "villain songs" in Hamilton, fight me. (Please don't actually, but feel free to discuss peacefully :D)

@✨Jess✨ you know, technically it isn't, but Burr is the antagonist, so makes sense his songs would be villain songs. Hamilton is an ass tho, but still, he's not antagonized.
Spinel’s voice actress is a broadway singer so no surprise Other Friends and Drift Away are great, even if the character is iffy to some people
After I watched the movie, Spinel joined my top 5 list of favorite Steven Universe characters. Her voice actress, the animators, and the songwriters did a great job.
How is her character iffy? She's probably one of the best developed Steven Universe characters.
@@audrepoison566 I would say the reception to her character is what I don't like. @@icymoons I agree, and I would hate to be around someone with her personality in real life. But I still think she has one of the best character development and characterizations in the whole show.
Her name is Sarah Styles, and she was on Broadway originating the role of Sandy Lester in musical adaptation of the Dustin Hoffman flick Tootsie! Along side Santino Fontana, the voice of Prince Hans in Frozen, as Michael Dorsey/Dorthy Michaels(which he won the Tony for Best Leading Actor for)!

in the context of hamilton and burr being the villains, i’d say “your obedient servant” is a good way to emphasize that both are morally ambiguous
I think Let It Out from TGWDLM (which funnily enough a clip of it was used in this vid) deserved to be on the list, Jon Matteson plays Paul slowly being taken over by Pokotho perfectly, and the musical zombies are just the icing on the cake
That song always gives me chills, and don't let me start talking about inevitable.

The list is incredible, Schaff! I love the editing and guest star appearance of Uncle Al too! But, here's some villain songs I like that aren't in this list and honorable mentions:
Video games:
It Has To Be This Way-Metal Gear Rising: Revengance
Perfectly displays the parallels between both Armstrong and Raiden, each with the heavy metal from the first phase, the vocals halfway through then the heavy metal again, and lastly the vocals and final verse of the instrumentals.
One Winged Angel(Advent Children Version)-Final Fantasy VII Advent Children
From the return of the original theme and Latin vocals to the metal instrumentals and 'Veni Veni Venias' feeling more intense than the original when Cloud finishes off Sephiroth with Omnislash Ver.6!
Philistine-No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle
A diss track of Travis' mistakes in the past which matches Margaret's criticisms of him, which foreshadows the end of the sequel where Travis leaves the UAA permanently so he'll eventually fight space alien superheroes in No More Heroes 3, so that's neat. 😉
The Phantom Rabbid's Song-Mario and Rabbids: Kingdom Battle
Another diss track of the protagonist but friggin' hilarious with how much the references to Mario's adventures were broken just for the sense of satire.
Transformation-The World Ends With You
A delightful theme for Minamimoto. Fantastic vocals, stunning instrumentals by Takehiro Ishimoto, and the memorable quote "SO ZETTASLOW!"
Animation:
Not Evil-The LEGO Movie 2 The Second Part
Brilliant in every way. Although there's plenty of flaws within the film and some plotholes, but it's a jam to listen to, even if you never heard Tiffany Haddish sing before in any film. Still, it provides initial foreshadowing towards the climax.
You Will Remember-Danny Phantom
A very haunting song revealing the tragic past of Ember and her hopes of people loving her again.
Holding Out For A Hero-Shrek 2
Everyone talked about this to death. But incredible in every way.
The song sung by the crocodile from All Dogs Go To Heaven
Never listened to this song yet, but I'll give it a try.
Be prepared is not only my favourite villain song, but my favourite song in a movie of all time. It's just perfect.
“He beats the shit out of Maui while mocking him while he does” this explains shiny perfectly
Me clicking this: Little Shop of Horrors better get a mention here!
*pirhana plant is referenced in number 2 transition*
Me: *gets a big smile*
The Hounds from Act II is by far one of my favourite songs of all time, super surprised and excited to see it on a list, when it seems so many people don’t know who the Protomen are
“Obedient Servant” is one of the best and most underrated songs in Hamilton, and I think it can be justified as a villain song. Although Burr isn’t really the true villain of Hamilton, at least up until this point, I think that this song is the turning point of him becoming somewhat of the villain. And honestly the whole song itself feels like a villain song, from the lyrics, to the melody, and even the part where they feign respect until the very end. This song is so amazing and I could talk about it forever but honestly you should just go listen to it for yourself.
I honestly thought he would say Wait For It :/ But now that I think about it, I 100% agree. Everytime I rewatch the Hamilfilm, I can't help but love Obedient Servant 🤟🏾
I think it's also about Hamilton being so self sabotaging. He's the cause of most of his problems and throughout the song he's a antagonizing Burr. It shows how Hamilton and Burr are their own greatest enemies
y e s dude
Yess burr is so sinister at the beginning,
@@CyclingUrchin exactly!! This what so many historians have stated. Both men were their own enemies
Take a shot every time James says “bombastic”
*insert Barnyard joke here*
Or rad
Imo I fucking loved Other Friends. It was swingy, catchy, and just so amazing. It makes me happy and Sarah Stiles’ voice is OP
Right after the hades town entry, a freaking ad came up for it. Now I HAVE to see it!
