      The younglings should learn that they don't really run into as many cheaters as they think they do, lol. And that dying doesn't have to be a complete loss if they can determine to the best of their ability what happened/what not to do in the future. Personally, a lot of the salt I was experiencing was just frustration in not analyzing correctly and just not knowing when/how I died and what the real turning points in my fights were in my first couple of wipes. I'd think about stuff like the final peek and gunfight and not about how I hit wood and alerted them already 45 seconds before that, or that my routing through that area was pointless to begin with. Idk, Nice video as always though!

    The confidence tip of putting yourself in bad situations reminds me of when I got the game. I hated it because I sucked, so I ran offline raids against hard difficulty/large amount of scavs and bosses/raiders so I would learn the combat a bit and learn what heals to use and when. It might sound dumb, but this 100% made me better prepared for raids against PMCs.

    • @2Lew
      @2Lew  Před 3 lety +14

    • @consmith9000
      @consmith9000 Před 2 lety +9

      Offline for me is a great way to memorize stashes, extracts, and gain map familiarity. It took a ton of raids to learn customs. Also it allows me to run a CHAD kit with no penalty. Also it allowed me to try out different guns and loadouts to see what actually worked in the field

    • @ZergWyrm

      That's where I'm at Charlie I have a difficult time orienting myself in a map even with a map on second screen lol, so I'm running low i.q scans just to learn my way around and keybinds a bit first then combat training is next. I bought eod like a year+ ago played it once got sniped and didn't play again till last week 😅.

  • @ChainZGER

    The advice about confidence and experience was sooo true for me. When I started playing tarkov, I always tried to get the jump on someone and got super frustrated when they managed to kill me anyway. But now that I stopped caring about my survival rate, I win most of my pvp encounters. Usually I kill at least 2 PMC's in every raid. I even started being able to take out whole squads by myself. Experience is definitely the best way of improving in this game. I died sooo much at the start that I have become a pretty fierce enemy to come across, which I am pretty proud of. I've had people DM me, accusing me of cheating and such. Super satisfying to beat enemies by using the very same methods that got me killed before.

    • @2Lew
      @2Lew  Před 3 lety +7

      great comment mate! im glad that my experience has been somewhat relatable to others, i didnt really research anything about tarkov when I started playing, so i kinda jumped into it and figured things out the hard way. Having gone from being a hatchling that just made it to 15 at the end of my first wipe, to now chilling with millions of roubles and all the level 5 gear I could run at level 34, It feels amazing to know I’ve gotten better haha. I feel genuinely bad for cheaters since they rob themselves of this satisfaction, I remember dreading player foot steps (and still kind of do, but now I know “ooh, some action!” knowing I CAN win fights, that I HAVE improved. Best of luck to you both in your next raids! I’m also stupidly excited for arena now, that’ll help me get the movement down better in fights haha.

    Here’s a tip: take their spots. If you’re running a raid and get killed in a certain position, remember the enemies position and use it. Once on a raid in woods, me and my friend were fighting near military base. My friend was dead and one of the enemies was dead, but the remaining enemy pushed up the pile of boxes and killed me. Now I know to use that pile of boxes to get high ground on military base

    Honestly one of the most informative videos I've seen on tarkov, generally everyone thinks its a tactical game and that's really what it was intended to be but if you treat it like any other fps and have confidence with how you operate you're going to be more successful against other aggressive players. If you decide not to take a shot because you think you might miss how are you going to get any better shooting from that angle? Great video.

    Of all you said, the confidence was the one I relate more. During a scav run there was a rat killing everyone on woods, I only had a shotgun but I started blasting him anyway, little tip use the nades to push, escape, not camp or heal, I used one and pushed him, knowing I was about to die, he tried to run but I was like Bloodhound from apex, following his blood on the ground.
    Moral of the story, I knew death was inevitable and I did I die but had to take him with me, doesn't matter your level, use the place as your cover and the confidence as your shield. A level 31 lost to a level 2 with a shotgun at a medium range

  • @mrgraft4279
    @mrgraft4279 Před 2 lety

    The one about being defensive after dying is so relatable. Being passive and waiting for footsteps because scared to die. Or not engaging and missing our opportunity to fight etc. So relatable to me as a fairly new player it’s crazy.
    After playing this game for 500h, I still feel like a noob. The things you have suggested like ‘die more to learn’…’die more to not care as much’
    ‘Take as many fights as you can to improve at PVP’
    These are all things that I’ve told myself I need to start doing and for someone to say literally word for word what I’m already thinking in my head is nice.
    I take grenades every raid now, but at the start I didn’t because money 😂tbf I didn’t know they levelled strength until recently, as soon as I found that I started running them.
    This wipe I’m going to be some serious hours in, keep grinding even through the brutal death streaks etc. Fight as many PMCs as possible: take keys, go to hotpots and try to really improve and learn more.
    Top video 👍🏻

      Take advantage of Offline mode to learn a map/route/quest location. You don't risk losing any gear that way and if you can even get just a bit more comfortable with a map that alone is a huge advantage.
      With AI on set to "As Online" difficulty can be nice as well to practice a bit of gunplay and learn how the AI react and move, as well as learn the typical places they hang out and roam.

    Good meds advice. One other tip: augmentin is a solid single use pain killer. everyone ive told this had no idea. saved my ass a few times.
    Heres my set up, pretty much every raid:
    Binds
    4: cheapest PK
    5: Bandage
    6: esmarch/CAT or zagustin if i have one (i dont buy them)
    7: partially used IFAK, or fresh kraft single
    8: any medkit i find in raid
    9: food (-5 hydro penalty MAX, MRE preferred)
    0: water (ewr if i have one)
    Manages ruble risk and doesn’t gift my killer(s) with loads of heals should i lose a fight.
    Gamma:
    CMS, full IFAK/AFAK, gold star/vaseline/ibu, alu spint, propitol.
    propitol use: i only pop it if i have to do multiple field surgeries and am worried i might need to cancel before im done OR i have taken heavy damage but have up to one blacked out area. for example, fought a three man, killed two, and the third retreated; won a loud fight in a highly contested area and want to heal up before rotation.
    the pain kill effect is key for movement and the HoT is key for sustain. Three or four ticks behind cover heals most gun shots.

    The grenades thing is a great point. You only get two options in front of a grenade; die or move. But every point in this video leads into the fighting thing.
    Fighting teaches you about what kinds of sounds everything makes. It teaches you when not to take a fight. It teaches you when to heal or buff and with what kind of item. It teaches you how to move at the most efficiency. It teaches you that grenades hurt. So keep fighting.

    My tip is; be aware of peekers advantage. If you play aggressively you get peekers advantage often, and it is significant. A trick I use in fights is to walk around a corner towards an enemy when I hear them sprinting at me. That way I get the peekers advantage before they can, and I can potentially get some free shots in while they're in the sprint stop animation. Check the fight at 7:55 in the vid for an example of how significant peekers advantage can be.

    Never was an FPS player but wanted to try it.
    I died a lot and my blood preassure rised rapidly while playing, as it's pretty stresfull game for a beginner.
    I found out that most of my deaths were because I haven't got required kit for survival (missing healing, or something to stop bleeding, etc..), so I will try with Grizzly now.
    Learned also to farm Scav equipment in factory map. (get in, get out, loot the gear).

And I am getting better and developing more confidence by doing this. I just started so I'm not worried about maxing my hideout or reaching kappa I need to learn the game first. The only way to get better is to just go for it. Its just a game and you can always get gear!

    My aim and movenment outdoors are pretty good, because I fall back and flank a LOT. I used to play a ton of DayZ Mod, so that's where I picked that up. But where I really suck is CQB fighting. I just choke and can't push out or get hit everytime I peak, with no where to fall back too.

    Confidence is for sure key for winning a gunfight. I had confidence on a raid and left with more amazing guns i had never seen before with a great deal of xp from pmc kills. You need the mindset before u can go in and just kill everyone

    The past few games I played rather aggressively, and it does work!
    I had a better experience playing the game because I care less about dying. (Pistol runs)
    I sprint out in the wild whenever I can, yes it does give me away by making a lot of noise, but an unpredictable fast-moving target is hard to hit.
    Most importantly, this way of playing is to get out of that mindset of moving slow and constantly worrying about getting shot.
    Even being so careful I can still die, dying this way, that frustration is far worse than getting shot while playing aggressively.
    As you said, we can use noise to bait them out. and in fact, producing a lot of noise also puts other players under pressure, therefore they will potentially making mistakes.
    I am still a noob, but I am starting to enjoy the game more.

    What I bring in my container:
    Salewa
    Alu splint
    Bandages
    Esmarch
    Painkillers
    LITERALLY what you need. If you want you can take 2x IFAK instead of Salewa. Avoid grizzly if you're slow or not aware of your environment.

    New player here. I've been terrified of using my PMC since I bought the game, I've just been doing offline mode and scav runs to try and get used to everything, but I think you hit it right on the head when you said you gotta play with confidence and learn from dying.
    I'm just gonna have to grow a pair and go fuck some people up I guess

    Great video, some actual good advice.
    Edit: I should clarify, it seems like most advice given for Tarkov is by some full time streamer who says things like, "you want to level up quickly to get flea? Just clear factory of all PMCs, and farm the scavs." Ya if I was skilled enough to do that I probably got to level 20 in 3 days...
