Sebastian Telfair spoke with Vlad about trash talk in the NBA and the advantage of hand size in the professional basketball. He reminisced about legendary trash talkers like Gary Payton and Larry Bird but also spoke glowingly of Luka Doncic. Of particular interest was a story about Michael Jordan's hand size, a trait Telfair believes contributes significantly to a player's abilities. He explained that Jordan's hand size was rumored to be like "a normal person holding a grapefruit." Telfair further stated that only a few players in the league could boast such a trait, directly naming now retired Rajon Rondo and Kawhi Leonard. When Dr. J retired, my local paper put an actual imprint of his hand (extended and exact proportion/size) on the sports page. It was unbelievable how huge it was. I've read that Jordan and Julius have almost identical hand size. Rex is right, lol.

This is what debunks this new-age idea of players today being physically superior to the players of the past. Some guys like Jordan are god-given physical freaks. There's is nothing you can do to replicate what he was gifted with. Idc what era it is. The advantages he had with having big hands and to this day having one of the best vertical leaps. The way he could hang in the air and contort his body is not something you can teach. Combine that with the skill, high basketball IQ, and extremely competitive nature, thats what makes him the greatest basketball player to ever live

Jordan’s hands are bigger than Kawhi’s and his fingers are also thicker. There’s photos of Jordan and Kawhi at the NBA 75th all star celebration together and you can see Jordan’s hand size is slightly larger. Dr J and Connie Hawkins had huge hands as well. Their hands were slightly larger than MJ’s.
