@@bpbagchi No, its not the transmission of RF, the problem is with difference between transistor and IC. Now radios are made with IC chips without many parts. And IC radios cause distortion in MW and SW beyond 4.5 or even 3 volts. So, only pocket radios with low gain are good today.
