Smug alone has brought Dudley into the picture and more players use him because of what they see Smug do with the character. 1. honestly i think Proudstrawberry is an extremely solid gouken that needs to go to Majors. hes too good.

5. i dont mind losing in a set. i do it to learn matchups and from my mistakes. and mostly these matches, its for YOU GUYS especially. obviously i didnt wanna do this set because it was laggy. but you guys wanted this set for a long time. so you guys got what you want. any person you guys want me to play against i will do it. ONLY if you guys show some love back
this was a great game you 2 played. I didn't know this was an old set from last summer as you stated. I couldn't tell if the signal was bad but you seemed to know what you were doing and it also seemed Gouken had the better match up. You're by far the best Dudley I've seen on this channel besides Hjmxp, or whatever his name was. Also, as your statement about playing for the fans, I thank you for that & I myself can't stand Dudley but watching your juggling capabilities as they are amazing as always...question, is this a bad match up for Dudley?
I'm preety sure you have more fans then haters, seriously, you are by far my favorite player to watch. Dudley has a LOT of potential and you know how to use this potential.

I saw a comment not sure by who regarding Smug's attitude, I be totally honest I talk to almost all the professional players that play this game only for this channel to ask for matches and sets, also some Marvel players to, If I had to put a rating on players attitude on how they come across and trust me some players do have attitude problems, I remember I told one professional to " Eat a dick " With Smug he is without a doubt one of the most friendliest person you can come across. Top class guy and i wish him nothing but success for the future.

Your words could be no further from the truth. I don't like to name names, I'm genuinely nice and considerate when it comes to SSF4. I understand that the network social climate of SF4 is not all "love and happiness", but I genuinely try to give good advice and just try to have fun with those who are both more and less skilled than I am. So... I try to break the mold. But there's some players who are ALMOST as skilled as an A+, or even A+, and they just have such pompous arrogant and nasty attitudes towards players who are worse or more skilled than they are. And it's like... "Why?" I can never understand the attitude of some of these players who want to go to EVO and their attitudes are garbage. It's like... I will never root for that type of person, no one will... I'm more likely to root for the underdog than to root for an asshole.
xxEvilChris People are narcissistic the moment they reach a certain level of skill, whether it's in SF, the FGC in general, hell even Chess Champs can be known to be complete jerks. Some don't know the meaning of humbleness and though it sucks, as long as there are some nice people in said categories then all we can do is appreciate their presence and hopefully befriend them because we don't know when we'll see more in the future.

TainoMantis Yes, but showmanship and sportsmanship, although not correlated with skill, do warrant some type of likeliness when looking for sponsorships. Genuine common courtesy is something to behold especially if you're skilled because that tapers to personal growth and pathological endorser of good behavior, someone's good intent may rub off on others is what I'm saying. The FGC is plagued enough with arrogant dicks, we don't need more audacity within such an unruly jungle; that is the FGC.

2 of the best players of their characters & I'm guessing this is a bad match up for SMUG. There was absolutely nothing he could do due to his character's lack of options. SMUG kept eating those FAs that PS kept absorbing & did anyone notice that most of SMUG's only time to give damage was Gouken's jump ins? SMUG had the upper hand with those excellent timing on those anti-airs.
Win or Lose, SMUG & PS are the best players of their characters online & thanks for the uploads, YogaFlame! This was replay worthy

i nearly had a heart attack when i saw this match come up on my feed. prouds focus and sweep timing is pretty brutal. seems smug had problems trying to get through it. tech blocks were mind bogglingly long lol. also goukens sweep recovery is mental. amazing match up regardless of the winner but as smug said itd be very interesting to see the same match again but offline. cheers yoga

Well played by ProudStrawberry. I did however feel that Smug played a little differently to how he usually plays, and definitely could have been so much better.

I've watched this and studied as a Dudley/Vega main. This is one of Duds hardest match ups no matter how it is viewed. I even ran a set with a high level Gouken player to test it out, If you try to pressure Gouken can n.j, parry, or sweep cause either or is to fast to react ex DP (which also is wasting a meter). The way Smug played was phenomenal considering the match up. Good shit to both.

To me, both is winner... Both is too unique and skill, it's like they both was born to use gouken and Dudley.
Despite Smug losing, this was an amazing set to watch. Solid Gouken from Proud and Dudley from Smug. Hope to see Daigo or FNex Shiine do one set with Proud or Smug.

I'm glad that this happened but you are TRIPPING if you don't think this was sloppy. You can tell the connection was garbage. When have you seen proudstrawberry not style in a good connection? Smug mistiming setups and getting grabbed? Come on man. Good try but if the connection is trash just don't do it. Glad that these guys are willing to try and please people though.

Shine and SkyAkuma are the toughest Gouken I've played. Had a few matches with smug too and his frame traps are brutal.
there was definitely more than one occasion that smug had the right read with the overhead and didnt connect because of connection issues.

I usually check the description on videos as they are starting and I kinda saw it before I could help it. Just bummed it got spoiled but it's cool. I understand there are people who would want it there cuz they have a problem keeping mental score I guess.

First time I seen Smug loose like that. Then again PS is an excellent player. A lot of people give him heat for not being as flashy as some of the other Gouken players out there, but I always thought what set PS apart from the others was his psychology. PS plays very smart.

Of course PS is going to be advantaged by the lag, Gouken doesn't depend on 1F links, Dudley very much depends on execution and frame traps. It's a known fact that basic characters are better online, look at all the high ranked Blankas on PSN. Players know Blanka is good online because he doesn't rely on setups and mix ups.

***** High Level Gouken= knowing what to do in certain matches and against certain players. In this case Sweep is what it takes to beat a Dudley player who loves to dash forward.
That's like saying high level Ryu is knowing how to throw fireballs.
Back then i thought Marn was the best Dudley in the world,I'm sure theres hidden talented Dudley player out there but fgc show more of Marn,and he quit for couple of years until Smug emerge,more stylish Dudley...in this case PS is too strong last summer. Thank you YogaFlame and Mega Dan X

I know Rolling Thunder prevented ProudStrawberry from fire balling (safely at least) Smug to death, but picking Corkscrew Cross could've netted Smug some nice victories at the ends of combos.

The lag here had to be a huge factor. There's no way Smug would get grabbed that many times or drop his bread and butter combos. That said, very good match from both players. Not taking anything away from ProudStrawberry.

Lots of whiffed moves and dropped combos leads me to believe Smug was either nervous, or the connection was bad. Seems to me like this should've been an even match up.
At best if it was better connection or offline I think it would still be like 5-4 in Proud's favor, Smug couldn't get in because of Proud's spacing and zoning with fireball and his sweep kept him from using Ducking to get in so it kept him a little conservative.

Lotta people mad smug is so good. even daigo loses matches in tournaments and online yet people still swing on his nuts constantly. i dont understand it but whatever.
Daigo is still actually a 2-time EVO champ and has won pretty much every tournament you can think of and beat every one of the best players in the world. I like Smug but Daigo is one thousand time the player Smug is.
