Metal detecting UK, I have found a huge hoard of old coins, treasure !

- I have just found my best metal detecting find ever and probably a once in a lifetime find with my metal detector. I have found a huge hoard of very old silver coins all from the same year and all in great condition.
This has to be my best metal detecting trip ever and my first ever real treasure find.
I really hope you enjoy the video as much as I enjoyed metal detecting and filming it.

Cheers John, 5 years I had been waiting to find one of them after seeing one on the forum when I first started and now I have a hoard of them, got to be some gold in that field.

It certainly is nice finding a hoard and the closest I have got is my One Penny hoard lol. Yes I am certain there will be at least one Gold in but fingers crossed there are more :-D

Hi Simon, yeh I have missed making videos and detecting so it's been great getting out again. Darren popped down late in the day for some detecting and to see the coins I have got all that in the next video :)
Amazing! now that's one remarkable coin hoard! either intentionally buried for later recovery and never found or a massive aristocratic pocket spill!

All 1816 in near mint condition. Definitely a buried hoard, unturf a 3x3 meter area and look for the jar they may have been buried in.
That would be great not sure the land owner would be happy though lol, I reckon there is gold but it will be far deeper

My best advice is to really take your time to dig every single signal that you get with your new machine. It takes time to learn what the detector is telling you from the screen and also the sounds and decent targets can easily be missed. remember the metal detectorists moto "slow and low" :)

Great finds! I'm a coin collector and have been for 7 years now and I don't think I've ever seen one of those in person. You have to be one of the luckiest people to get 2+ in 10 weeks! Also, what area in the UK do you go metal detecting? I've recently bought a metal detector and am looking for a good place to start.
Cheers for that my friend, it took 5 years of searching to find one and I ended up getting nearly a dozen of them lol! I metal detect in East Yorkshire, best of luck in the hobby 😀

Don't forget you need to get permission off the land owner before detecting or you will find yourself in the back of a police car in no time haha 😀
