Gold & silver coins just lying round in a random field, you couldn't make that stuff up, you deserve everything you find, well done.
This is quite small compared to some that come up, just shows how much is out there waiting to be discovered!

Thank you. By definition it’s a hoard and recorded as such by the British Musuem, having gone through the Treasure Act. But yes, more of a coin spill in basic terms 👍

The coin at 5 minutes.. the flower in the Long Cross stood out to me, as did the star next to his head.
That looks like Henry V, so, 1413-1422 range. If so, the detail on it is AMAZING despite the edges not being intact fully.

I can't believe the amount of coins you found over the two days! I've never seen so many hammereds in one field. Thanks mate. We’ve been over and over and just nothing. I’d love more obviously but we’ve done it to death and nothing in that area. Plenty coming up in the rest of the field including Roman, just nothing from the hoard 🤷♂️

With the possibility of more gold; def want to re-visit with Manticore and M15 coil. - perhaps even try a PI machine to coax out those really deep ones? The farmer might frown on bringing in a tractor to scrape off 6” of topsoil - however may be amenable to cutting back the grass to stubble? I’m sure there’s more goodies to be found, so really hoping to see a follow-up vid hint hint…. Cheers🎉
We can’t get the ground dug or ploughed now as the land has gone in to a scheme but it will be cut short. Gone over it 100 times since and nothing so far

looks like a clay jar or jars got broken up and scattered in the field and the Gold COINS, WOW!!!! just makes it a lifetime find for all of us swingers. Real good finds there gentlemen. Here in South Texas I dream of fields full of finds like that, and dreams they are. But it don't compared to where you guys hunt. Enjoyed your video, see you on the next hunt

😂 haha other way around, I was screaming ‘gold’ across to Rod when I first took out the plug. I just caught a glimmer and was jumping around before he’d even seen it and I then calmed down and switched the camera on!!

My point was made I think between the nox and manticore 😂 gold is tricky to detect any way but strength of the coil came up trumps here

It's great to find a scattered hoard 🎉 maybe time to grid search the land. There might be more 🎉 it might be a medieval fayre site 🤔 maybe a village or castle was close by.
We cut the grass, been over and over and nothing. It was a very concentrated area where the coins were so they were either dropped or buried at the time so unlikely to be many more if any

Congrats to finding and thanks for showing such a splendid hoard. This place calls for an archaeological exvacation. I only once found a scattered medieval hoard with approximately 2000 coins (each coin about 0.5 grams only, unfortunately no gold). About 1000 have been found by normal detecting and we thought to have combed the area with various detectors very carefully, but the archaeological removal of the ground in layers with an exvacator uncovered another 1000+ in various depths. This is the problem with the thin and light coins - if they are not aligned perfectly or even then, you can't detect the deeper ones.

The archeologists aren’t interested in surveying the area in any way. Too many finds coming up in general, there just isn’t the money to do digs, just the way it is I’m afraid. We are looking to have it deep ploughed so this may bring up some more
@@gloucestershiredetectorists In this case, if the landowner agrees, you could do the classic way: stake a claim of maybe 3mx3m in the approximate center of the area, take a group of people (and eventually your FLO), a few shovels and then take away a few centimeter flat from the area. Detect the exvacated ground and the freed up area. Rinse and repeat.

38/40 for the half noble and the quarter was around 34 if I recall correctly

With the weight they found I’d guess it was a market or something.
The coins were found over a very small area of the field so hard to say. The weight could have been domestic and we have also found Roman so used for various things over time
To be wronged is nothing unless you continue to remember it.
Ok that’s kill me mow. The core hits the high 20’s to maybe 30 on a Red Bull pull tab. Good to know though if I hunt the treasure coast of Florida!! Can you do an air test next time and I hope it’s every day for you pls? Cheers!

Field 1 or field 2, basic settings just adjust sensitivity accordingly. They work brilliantly straight out the box 👍

What TDI was it on the core?
High thirties and low flurries for each gold if I recall correctly
bet the flo will have a field day digging the rest of them up could be hundreds
As they were scattered and had no more signals the FLO didn’t want to attend the site and was happy for us to collect up what we found and hand them in. If they had been found together in the hole he would have attended and block lifted 👍
You missed the folded tiny coin next to the big gold, it was on the clod!
Minute and second? I think it’s very unlikely as we re check every hole after we have the coin out to make sure!
If you mean the section the actual coin was on when removed from the hole, that wasn’t another coin 👍
Are you supposed to report it now tho finding that many
They have been reported. On the day they were found, which you have to do under law…..which states all finds under the treasure act have to be declared to the coroner within 14 days

How do you manage to find a lifetime of detecting treasures every time you go out?
I wish! We’ve been lucky enough to find two hoards a year apart but what you don’t see on here is literally hundreds of hours in all weathers, walking miles where we find nothing! That doesn’t make for a good watch so we spare you the agony we go through! You get the highlights which are obviously the best bits 😁 it’s a lot of hard work and it’s a numbers game really, keep walking and keep digging and naturally you will find stuff 👌
