I don’t think anyone will fully understand how much it effects ur life until they’ve had it. I wake up dreading the day already sometimes. It’s always at school, probably bc I have the fear of my stomach acting up at school so that all I can think of, causing me more anxiety. I really don’t remember a time where I didn’t have this fear or a day my stomach didn’t act out. However, throughout the day it gets better. It’s even harder for me at school bc I have a fear of getting up to go to the bathroom during class so I just anxiously sit in my chair til times out and it’s funny bc as soon as class is over I no longer really have to go. Somethings that has helped me is tums, mostly bc Carrying it gives me comfort, essential oils, especially the ones where u can roll it on ur skin, I put a little on my nose so I can smell it during school which calms me, and breathing exercises. I Honeslty believe for me, if I can get my anxiety under somewhat control I will feel much better! We got this guys!❤️

I'm about to try the low FODMAP diet. People with IBS often have trouble digesting certain sugars found in many foods. As a result of the food not being digested properly, your gut ends up with extra water and gas, which then causes the bloating and toilet troubles. Maybe look into it too 👍🏻

I think you are correct. I am 65 years old and have enjoyed good heath all my life until 2020. With the COVID mess, my stress level went off the charts. My blood pressure also went high and I’m on meds for the first time in my life. My music career is all but dead now and my two adult sons are living with us and not working. Each time I have a flare up of intestinal pain, it seems to follow an argument with my youngest son or some stressful event around the house or with the cars. It usually lasts for 3 or 4 days and then I feel back to normal. Not seeing friends, extended family and bandmates has really depressed me.

it is so relieving and refreshing finally finding out what these pains/pressure I've been having for years on end. For me, this has been so random and so unpredictable in most aspects but there are a few constants. I have been to multiple doctors, been blood tested multiple times (for chrons disease), changed my diet more times than I can remember, massaging the area deeply (only made it so much worse and it spread) tried multiple painkillers, and nothing NOTHING has ever worked.
The symptoms I've been having are excessive gas, bloating, pain in my lower left abdomen that feels like pressure building to the point of pain, and constipation. This has always been something that gradually crept up on me, something I've been dealing with for years and never quite seemed to figure out the source of. But one thing I knew for certain was that my anxiety was most likely at the center of it.
Ever since middle school, (and flare-ups like these would mostly ever only happen at school), I would 1st experience the excess gas then pressure building in my lower left abdomen then the pain and uncomfortableness that would build. These situations can be deeply unsettling and embarrassing especially for young developing girls who want to fit in and who want to feel attractive. This syndrome is so much more than just pain especially when it begins to affect your day-to-day life, especially your mental health. It's only in recent years that I've really started to take action to put an end to it.
For as long as I can recall back, I've always dealt with social anxiety in school no matter what I did. Especially when put in social situations/situations where I'd have to interact with others.
I always did know in the back of my mind that these pains had some type of direct link to my stress/anxiety levels, but I'd always write it off as something entirely separate because it'd never occurred to me that they could be connected.
Now, I've tried almost every solution I could think of, and I can only hope that trying anxiety medication might help a bit since it's such a trigger. However, I do try to stray away from medications since I wouldn't want to be so dependent on them for however long in the future.
Whoever else is going through this, please know you are not alone and that I do see you. I had yet to meet anyone with a remotely even similar problem before this video, and I can't even express how happy it's made me to finally figure out why this has been happening to me for so many years after going through doctor after doctor to find out. You are seen, and you can and will work through this

I started getting IBS recently. I realized it had something to do with stress and anxiety because I was dealing with a rough break up for months. I didn't know how to get over it. Sometimes I would even vomit. But I didn't puke food, I think it was saliva or mucus. It definitely has to do with stress because I eat healthy. I eat a lot of fruits and veggies and I still get the pain.

I have been having IBS for more than a year now, I really think I have figured it out. In my case, stress and anxiety is the main case, whenever I have an exam or test at school, or I'm getting late somewhere, my stomach starts hurting, it slowly calms down on its own. Sometimes coffee and rarely lactose intake cam trigger it, but I'm pretty sure stress is the main reason. I have had early life stressful event which I assume have led me to this. But now I know what it is and that makes it easier for me. Good luck everyone.

I was never diagnosed with ibs and I don’t like self diagnosing myself but after having to live 9 years with these symptoms, I’m pretty dam sure it’s what I think it is.
I remember telling my mom that I was scared to go to school. I was 12 at the time. I’d look out the window as we made our way there and I’d feel like my world was crashing in. A lot of the times my mom would let me walk to school so I would just cry on the way there. The intense anxiety before going anywhere is frightening to the point that I think of ways to escape if I were to have a flare up. It’s either my anxiety that causes the flare ups or the need to use the restroom or pass gas that triggers my anxiety.
I don’t think I’ve yet seen a person on the internet with ibs talk about how much f@rts affect them (I really hate that word; trauma I guess lol). I’d say I’m a mix between ibs-d and ibs-c but there should be an ibs-f cause my lord ! Even with a simple thought that makes me nervous makes me gassy 🙄 I can’t date or hang out with friends; dating especially hurts me the most bc I want a boyfriend so bad but I’m just too ashamed to open up about it with anyone.
Of course, being overly gassy isn’t the only symptom. I don’t usually get that pain that everybody is talking about but when I do, I feel like I’m being cut open from the inside. I do get bloated tho all. the. freakin. time. Not a single day that I’m not bloated. It came to a certain point that I thought I was just extra fat in my abdomen. Also, idk about y’all but when I’m getting that pain in my stomach I can literally feel the waste in stomach move. Another thing that happens to me is that there are times after going numero dos a lot, it makes my colon feel uncomfortable, as well as my stomach. Anybody else?
My life choices are dictated by this stupid overly sensitive stomach of mine and I HATE IT. If I had three wishes, one of them would be to get rid of my ibs, and my second wish would be to get rid of ibs from this planet in general. Like why are you going to avoid becoming a-let’s say a lawyer-why are you going to avoid becoming a lawyer just because your stomach needs relief ??? It’s crazy! And I’m so freakin jealous of people who don’t have it. You have pretty hair? Pretty eyes? Pretty smile? Don’t care. The real question here is: do you have ibs? No? Well, you’ve got it all!

This is so relatable. This is exactly what’s happening to me. I got diagnosed with ibs a few months ago and I have excessive gas too. I’ve always been shy and I think I might have anxiety but this has made things so much worse. I’m so embarrassed while I’m in public or when I’m around anyone since I have excessive gas and even when I’m not farting, I feel so nervous and hope that I won’t. My parents won’t even let me take days off of school when I’m in an extreme amount of pain and they keep on saying that it will ‘get better’ when ibs is incurable. I haven’t even told any of my friends yet because I’m too embarrassed.
I hope that there will be a cure for this soon because it’s ruining my life. Thanks for posting your comment. It’s nice to know that there’s someone who relates to me.

It takes a very long time to get ibs from poor diet and once you've got it the damage is done your body is stuck in that mode you can only do things to help relieve the symptoms in my case and yes it sucks but if you haven't tried fermented cod liver oil I highly recommend it and remove sugar from your diet completely only eat vegetables no meat except fish or chicken and dont put any spices whatsoever on them as it can irritate your stomach garlic is one of the worst things you can eat and try having vinegary foods but dont eat too much because of the salt content can also cause irritability it's all about moderation and once you find the right diet 3 weeks and it will be much easier living oatmeal in the mornings no juice the acidity can screw your guts balance and try a heated pad for your stomach at night heat can help sooth the bloating the bloating is what causes pain and biggest thing smaller meals eat 5 times a day but smaller portions one big meal can cause serious bloating and be very unpleasant if you are really hungry eat a big salad and chew your food to a pulp

This was also a huge reason why I was just diagnosed with Anxiety and Depression. This sucks but I have been taking meds that have somewhat been helping so hopefully I will continue to get better.

Most people with intestinal problems need to deworm. I was DIAGNOSED with GERD, IBS ADHD. I was farting and burping all the time, thought I would need my appendix removed.
(Like my mom and some of my siblings). Ended up having emergency gall bladder surgery (like my mom and several of my siblings). Nearly died.
Doctors made me swallow some barium crap and scanned my abdomen, told me I needed more fiber as I was severely constipated. My belly was so big I could not reach my hands around it.
Woke up with a sense of needing to cleanse. I did an herbal deworm. Dewormed my kids too. Two weeks later, my 18 month old daughter passed a clump of roundworms the size of a goofball into her diaper and another one. two weeks after that. My older child also passed parasites. Both were in the 95%-tile in growth. I passed six leeches between 3-7 inches long. Then I passed thousands of pods with baby leeches inside. Terrifying.
Appendix discomfort went away. Still could not lose weight. I prayed about it and heard, "stop eating corn." The next week at the movie theatre I got popcorn, then vomited it all up immediately. Apparently, 95% of all corn in the USA is GMO. It produces ROUNDUP.
I stopped all corn, took my kids off too. At 11/13 both fat too. I was 300 pounds.
My youngest lost 45 pounds. All her joint pain went away. She could run and play like a normal kid. My oldest lost 35 pounds. Both kids Asthma went away. ADHD massively reduced. I lost 100 pounds. My stomach flattened.
We stopped all synthetic food colors as well, so that is a huge part of ADHD.
For me most signs of aging disappeared. My skin started smoothing out again.
    Also,
Joint pain joint (inflammation was starting to form osteoarthritis in my knees): GONE.
    Ankle swelling: GONE.
    Adult acne: GONE.
Neuropathic pain in my feet (felt like I was walking on nails each morning): GONE.
    GERD: GONE.
    IBS: GONE.
Constipation (only pooping once a week): GONE.
    Brain fog: GONE.
    Bad moods and irritability:GONE.
    ADHD: gone, mostly.

My identical twin refuses to stop eating these things. At 350 pounds, pre diabetic, using a CPAP to breath, all the aforementioned issues plus high blood pressure, plus depression and other mental health issues... I'll likely be getting a funeral notice sometime in the near future. Won't listen to me, despite my reclaiming my health.

I also have hypothyroidism, I wonder how much that has to do with this

  • @Maria-yh5ul
    @Maria-yh5ul Před rokem +8

i'm 24 and i have ibs 5 years now. After many tests i realised that the foods that causes me this condition are:
-lentils (maybe all legumes i believe)
    -eggs
-yogurt (cheese and all fats causes me constipation)
    -rice
    -fried potatoes and chips
    -onions
    -olives
    -bananas
    -carrots
(and many others that i don't remember but those are the main)
My diet right now is very simple and i'm almost vegan because everything else causes me pain, gasses, bloat and contipation.
Some foods that helped me like a laxative are:
    -Broccoli (2 big or 3 small-big portion)
    -Kiwis
-3 well mashed apples with skin or even 4 if you have serious problem (you can add honey or sugar and cinnamon for better taste) this pulp helps me *A LOT* with the constipation. (apple without skin causes me constipation)
-sometimes wholemeal pasta (small portion) with a big portion of homemade tomato sauce with olive oil seems to help me.
    I hope i helped even a little.
ps i don't smoke, i don't drink coffee, i'm female 53 kg, i don't eat a lot, i drink plenty of water and i had serious depression and anxiety when this started. I'm super calm and relaxed now but the problem didn't stop. I believe this was the reason but it can be cured with specific diet.I suggest you keep a complete daily diary to understand which foods bother you, I consider it a perfect solution.

It becomes hard to sleep because I get dry mouth, bloaty, and crampy. Sometimes I get acid reflux. It’s difficult sometimes because I’m trying to burp it out for relief. But while I sleep I sometimes gasp for air because of trying to breathe, swallow and burp all at once so it wakes me up.. Sometimes I have to get up and walk around to relieve myself of all the gas buildup. It helps after a

SAME OMFG. But it was the complete opposite for me, I had constipation first and then diarrhea afterwards. also can I ask how long did that experience/feeling last? and do you still experience it lately??

I have never been diagnosed but a friend mentioned when I talked about my experience. What I have always had: when I want to go to the loo, I really mean it. But once in the toilets, it takes time and effort to finish. When I think I am, I am not. But Everytime I leave, I feel uncomfortable. What is by periods: the frequency. I always go every day. But there are periods where I go 3-4 times a day. Periods where I have pain in my pelvic floor and upper belly. Worst periods: my bowel movements making me be late for meetings at work, having to leave a place and cancel an outdoor activity. But no matter what, I am always careful to know where the closest toilets are when I travel, just in case. I thought I was the only weirdo who could hold my pee easier than my poo. 😅

My stomach is so much better now and I don’t suffer from constipation, but at times I still have stomach pain and due to past stomach noises I get uncomfortable in quiet environments, I get anxiety and start freaking out if I’m not distracted or listening to something. I’m not able to perform to my best ability. So school is still hard for me

My parents are so worried for me or more like my grades. I was an straight A’s student but now I’m failing my classes. My stomach doesn’t get that bad during the weekend but aches every time I need to go to school. I missed so many days already and it feels like hell every time I go. Idk what to do

Try to see if you can get independent studies. I did it for 2 years because my symptoms were pretty bad.
