Being born and raised in Italy i had to watch his CNN series, i wanted to know what it was like for him to see my region in particular. Stanley knows his stuff for sure, i already admired him as an actor and a person. But after watching this, i have to say I admire him even more, i had no idea about his wife's passing or that he had to battle cancer. Life inspiration for sure.

When he is acting, he always has such a sharp and almost dangerously focused energy about him. In this clip however, his presence was more relaxed and rather fuzzy around the edges. I like him very much in this more approchable state of mine!

I never quite understand this attitude that a quintessential aspect of British humour is sarcasm. You can name other things: wryness, irony, innuendo, punning, smut, wit, drollity. Clearly someone who has defined his boundaries and respects them and his fellow men enough to honor them in a very kind but unwavering way. His gracious _no_ at the end, I suppose in response to a request on showing one of his drawings, is a lesson in kindness and firmness, a combination we have lost the ability of throughout most of our encounters it seems.
