I think it would be cool if you had a lobby if 12 people all trying to get this at once, and it only restarted after everyone had failed
Too much cooperation would make it slightly too easy, throw in one guy who's only goal is to fuck with people, nothing else, and it's suddenly 10x more interesting, even with 11 people on the same page, that 1 guy fucks everything up.
@@shadowsnake5133 maybe it could be a competition, and you know what everyone needs so you try to mess up someone else's placement to make them start over because they're in the lead

Well, that's a fairly easy run to take.
Have everyone choose a place finish, from 1st to 12th, and drive single file, 100cc no items.
Then when the second place starts, the winner of the last race throws. Thus 1st becomes 12th, and the line moves up one (2nd becomes 1st, 3rd becomes 2nd, etc).
Repeat this process across 12 races, and as soon as the last race ends, every single racer will have gotten every single place.
The only difficulty would be keeping track of the places.
An interesting way to play Mario kart that my friends and I have done is, turn on auto steering and auto gas, and then the only buttons you are allowed to press are the triggers.

If you can get 1st consistently, then for every place, just get first and wait at the finish line. When the player with the place before the desired one pass you, go through the finish line.

Don't sit there for too long. There's a chance you can be disconnected from the race.

I'd say probably one of the best ways to do this would be to try and gun for 1st every time you don't have a full lobby, you won't necessarily get first, but if you can get second that is a harder one out of the gate. After you get 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and you are still gunning for 1st, if you know you can't get 1st fall back and get 5th or even a lower number, let your lower places be the numbers you fall back to when you can't win, but when you get that full lobby make sure to get your 12th place.

I remember when I was playing 7 Online and I was keeping a Mushroom to Dodge and the Blueshell came when I was going into the Maple Treeway Cannon so I just tried dodging like normal because if it did work then that'd be awesome and if it didn't, at least I tried. Well it did work and I was hyped about it for longer than I'm willing to admit
Even harder if you have to get all of those places in order. This seems like a really fun challenge

My favorite way to play Mario kart recently has been a mode I call Gamelock. Basically you'd pick a game from the series say...Wii. You can only play with Characters from that game, have to replicate karts and Bike from that game, and only use items from that game, and only race tracks from that game.
Sounds easy until you realize that 4 blue shells in 1 lap is completely possible and you can't defend yourself unless you have a mushroom. It's chaos depending on what game you choose

that's what real is like, you fight for every inch in positioning and some people are racing for different reasons each race. Like some people race for lead positions, some race to improve their point standing in the season, some race to avoid disqualification, etc. it is wild.

When we played with our friends, we all picked the shy gut (except for one of them). He hated shy guys idk why, so we made a team and a challenge. If he wins, we all start playing as bowser, and if we win he accepts shy guy and joins our team.

Not to derail, but you can make the game more skill based (at least in local play) by turning off items. My dad and I do that, and my siblings all hate it cuz dad and I are evenly matched, but they aren't as good.

I made a challenge that includes up to 12 friends and that in every race, the person in last place is disqualified. This goes on until one person remains.
