Nice rig. ! Keep backup parts to hot swap the unit when it fails.. as long as you're moving forward ,you're powered and charging ! Perfect!

He needs to turn the propeller around so the cup side faces the oncoming water. He should gain more rpm's that way.

Not sure that would help with that particular one as those blades would change hydrodynamics turning them around. Adding some kind of cone to the front makes more sense. :)

Great idea. I'd love to see a how-to on making and setting this up with parts list :)

Hi there, I've just come across your vlog and I'm really impressed with you hydro generator. Is there a possibility you can provide me with a bit more information because I would love to build a similar one. A couple of questions immediately come to mind ...what make/model/voltage/wattage of generator did you use (or did you construct it from a motorcycle alternator or hover board)? Also what size prop? Thanks in advance. Bruce

It has been a while ago, when you placed this video here. I hope you can answer my question..... can you tell me where you bought this PM DC motor/generator? A shop who delivers or a company who produces these motors? Thanks for your help!

Hi can you upload a video of the generator working?

So is this something Billy is going build for Adrenaline? I wonder how much drag it would create, and being a Catamaran with two hulls where would the best placement be? If on the Left or Right hull would it cause a twist as Adrenaline was moving through the water ?

Hi , I know this was from a long time ago but do you happen to remember what propeller you used ? and did you ever measure how fast it would spin ?

My main question is what is the voltage of the permanent magnet motor? Was it 110v or something else? Hate to be a pest but what was wrong with your diesel engine? My guess is air leak or lift pumps

They said 12v but you can get them in various voltages, AC or DC.

How do control the output to charge the battery?

    • @whitepawrolls
      @whitepawrolls Před rokem

Same as with solar or wind using a charge controller. Probably wind controller would work best.

What was the permanent motor from? It would be great to get more information so that we could make one.

      Looks like commercial 12volt starter

you can buy a permanent magnet generator for $60 in china, 500W at 600Rpm. then mess a little with DIY electronics

    Billy,
Is there a chance you could put me in contact with Conor?? I also own a Brewer 44 and am interested in picking his brain about his watermaker install. It seems he has the best compromise for installation spots, and I would just like some additional info. His CZcams channel seems "dead" and would really like to contact him. Thanks.
    Respectfully,
    Brad

Are you on Instagram? His handle is @dinghyride also, send me an email at tulasendlesssummer@gmail.com and I will send you an early release of our watermaker install. Same mountain location as Connor for the membranes
